Anyone know about the story of Diggi ka Raja? π€
I have heard people celebrate and sing songs about Diggipuri ka Raja but don't know their story. Are they a god from Jaipur? or some other area?

How Jhulelal transcends not just Sindh but also Sindhis
The first is from the Punjab HP border with an aarti for the 'Khwaja Peer'(Source: https://maps.app.goo.gl/RhexA3kYDT24X4Am9). The second is from a temple named Peer Nigaha (Source: https://maps.app.goo.gl/mwLBP9EKKKzqRXnTA)
In fact if you search Khwaja Peer on Google Maps over Punjab and HP, you will find many more temples/dargahs all with images of Saein Jhulelal but with a different name. Not many of these use the name Jhulelal, only alluding to Varun Dev or Peer. I do not see any Sindhi on these sites either. Yet, you will come across many images of devotees thronging these places and the places themselves being quite maintained pointing to their popularity among the locals.
When we start reading the history of how the diety Jhulelal emerged, another figure Khwaja Khizr comes into picture who was called so among Muslims in Sindh. However, today if you look for religious places devoted to him in Sindh itself, you might not find many mentions of him.
Moreover, I have mostly come across instances of religion flowing downstream in the Indus from Punjab to Sindh as was the case in religious movements like the Arya Samaj or the Sikh religion but it seems like it can flow both ways unlike the water itself.
(Extra research info: Try looking up Khwaja Peer on Instagram and you will notice a lot of reels from Muslims also revering him

Wholesome moment on r/Sindhi
This person commented under a post where I had shared information for a refugee file from Punjab on Abhilekh Patal. It is a platform where you can view documents from the National Archive of India. Coincidentally they ended up belonging to the same family.
It's when I come across people like this that it makes me so happy to have helped someone trace their roots and discover their story.
