For me, it’s a bit like this:

#5 season 5.
While the animation is still great, you can kind of tell they were starting to run out of ideas. The Plots were becoming pretty standard for a kid’s show, such as Quack being scared of a monster or learning about shapes. Also, Chirp’s voice actor is VERY noticeably being pitched up in the audio, likely due to her VA getting older. Speaking of VAs, Maxwell Uretsky does a fine job, but personally he doesn’t feel nearly as lively as Peep’s other voice actors, and he’s also lacking that signature squeakiness.
Season 5 in general is fine, but it was probably for the best that they called it quits.

#4 Season 4
This was the first season from the revival airing. I was surprised to find out that the show was originally ended after season 3. Season 4 as a whole is mostly very enjoyable, with some really fun concepts like chirp discovering sand castles and the gang learning to build rafts to avoid “lurmies”.
It’s overall a great watch, BUT…
There is one problem that would show the sign of decline in quality later on.
Peep is…kind of boring.
Now, don’t get me wrong, some episodes give peep and chirp more time to shine, such as Quack’s Pond Party and Trading Places, but my main issue is that he feels more like an audience representative than ever, this is probably the only season where quack quite literally carries the show in terms of character.
Peep’s new voice actor, Shawn Molko, while not quite matching the iconic Scott Beaudin, is a pretty good replacement for Peep. Although a lot of Peep’s iconic mannerisms are somewhat lost, which is a bit of a shame.

#3 Season 3

Alright, now we’re getting into the REAL JUICY stuff.
Being the final season in the show’s original run, a lot of new and interesting science ideas were brought to the table. And they were all incorporated with the stories really well.
Personally, what I think makes a story in Peep work is when the educational elements and the story blend together in harmony. It’s part of what makes the show so interesting and appealing to younger audiences while also encouraging them to learn.
Then, there are episodes that are just simple, stupid fun. In A Bind is easily the funniest episode of the entire show. The concept alone is hilarious and creative, and the show managed to pull it off in a way that still feels true to the show.
Then we have some interesting two parters, like Big Bird and Chirp flies the coop, which had an incredibly sweet showcase of Chirp’s friendship with Peep.
The only true dud in this season is probably The sounds of silence part 2. Part 1 actually started out incredibly promising and had a pretty unique and entertaining concept, but part 2 ended up portraying Quack in a pretty… rough light. The lesson learned being that “Don’t ask for someone to stop talking, because you’re going to need them at some point.” But the way the episode portrays this just ends up enabling quack of his behaviour a bit too much. I know quack’s annoying, but this definetly wasn’t one of his best moments.
Overall though, season 3 is fantastic, and really is just another example of what made this show so unique for its time.
One last thing I do want to say, is that this would be Scott beaudin’s final season with the show, as he is VERY noticeably fighting puberty in a lot of episodes. The fact that he stayed on the show for 3 seasons is pretty impressive on its own. His iconic squeaky sound and energy really helped Peep grow into his own. He’ll always be the definitive Peep voice to me.

#2 Season 1

Of course, the season that started it all. While season 1 may not be as consistently funny or cleverly written, there is one thing that really sets this season apart from the rest:
The adventure.
Season one really just embodies the childlike wonder and urge to explore that the show is all about. It was chill, but it always had this energy to encourage kids to go out and be scientists, and in general is just beautiful. Admittedly, the animation is quite choppy, but it has a charm to it.
Season 1 may not be the best season, but if I had to name one that really describes what Peep and the big wide world is all about, it’s the one.

#1 season 2

The amount of awesome episodes this season has really just certifies why I think it’s the best. The mystery of the thing that came and went back, Finding Time, Quack Quack, Who stole the big wide world, this season is just jam full of everything that makes this show great. Not to mention the humor is easily at its best here. Just overall the peak of the show. Not really much else I can say, other than this pretty much has everything I love about the show combined into one, not to mention the animation and voice acting are simply wonderful. Easily my favourite Peep season.

is it gross? Yes. Was it a bad idea? Yes. but what you can't deny is that this moment is probably one of the most important moments in the band's entire career. Greg had just joined the band around this time, and the new level of madness and performance that he would bring on was really symbolized here. I believe this footage is historically significant and would be incredible to see one day.

Specifically ones where Kris talks. I know it’s not exactly accurate but I feel like doing some dramatic stuff if

I’m aware that the show was an American-Canadian co production, with most of the writers and storyboard artists being from WGBH in Boston, but the voice actors and animation were mostly produced in Toronto if I’m correct.

But also, the concept of the show itself mostly originated from Canada, so it’s fair to say it’s my favourite Canadian cartoon, right? Idk
