in this part of the backrooms vfx breakdown on the blue ray kane briefly mentioned that the simpsons living room is probably out there in that giant hole with the rooms and that a still life simpsons family might as well be out there if you looked hard enough.

like i said, he could be joking, so i don't know if we should take this as true, but it's still a pretty funny idea that there's probably some random still life cartoon character roaming around somewhere, and the complex remembers everything, just slightly wrong, so there are probably some still cartoon characters out there somewhere.

we also know that the simpsons did appear in the series before in the secret video simply titled "SImpsons". another reference to the simpsons is one that's not in the series but in one of kanes songs that he made and posted onto his second channel titled "Hyperreality" where the song cover shows some people dressed up as the simpsons.

a hyperreality as said by google is a cultural condition where the distinction between reality and simulation completely dissolves, making the artificial feel more real than real life. basically when people prefer a fake artificial world (like disneyland) over real life, because it feels more real to you I guess.

we do see something similar with clark where chooses to stay in the backrooms because he likes it in there and that for the first time in a long time he's right where he's supposed to be. clark chooses to live in the artificial world because there he doesn't have to worry about his problems in life and flaws and other things like that. he can just stay with his little still life family in his backrooms house free from society's problems or whatever.

i now just realised while typing this that i went from talking about simpsons still lifes to hyperrealitys and how they connect to the backrooms. but even then its still something interesting I wanted to talk about as the two things seem to be some what connected, I mean clark is also an angry drunk guy with a still life family that lives in a lil home, that kinda sounds similar to our favorite yellow donut eating drunk guy who also has a family and stuff. idk, just wanted to point this out.
