Opinions on the credit cards?

Looking at getting a BOA credit card (my regular bank account will stay where it already is, non-BOA).

Most of the negative reviews (and reviews in general) seem to be about the actual bank account and not the credit cards specifically.

So how are the actual credit cards for y'all?

Saw a Toyota and want to know what model it was

It looked a lot like the Land Cruiser, but the wheels were in a half-hexagon shape unlike the round ones you normally see (I don’t know what that specific area of car immediately around the tire is called)

Is your local Aldi out of tofu?

I went to Aldi for a few specific things, one of which was tofu (yeah, I'm a vegetarian and was going to get it for something specific I'm making). Went at 1 or 2 in the afternoon.

I was surprised that my local Aldi was out of tofu! (didn't have any on the shelf, but the shelf tag was definitely there). Mine is overall good in having very few out-of-stock items of regular product, but tofu definitely wasn't something I expected.

Is this an item that's out at your local Aldi too?

My manager won’t accept that I’m slower because I’m new

Every job I’ve ever heard of works like this: new employees will be slower and then they get faster as they become more confident in what they’re doing.

She doesn’t want to accept that I’ve been at the job for 2 weekends (6 shifts) and not doing everything for the entirety of those 6 shifts, and am slower than the person who’s been at it for 3 years.

I don’t even have a login to the cash register, and was shown how to during my 5th shift. But she’ll complain that I don’t immediately know even though I was never even shown before that. Someone else always has logged onto the register before, so I never even got to see.

But somehow they’ll act like I’m slow, lazy, or don’t learn fast enough. But this type of job is new to me.

Breadsmith - Cincinnati, Ohio

No picture because I separated it for storage.

But it was 3 loaves of bread, a large muffin, and some granola.

Bread looked beautiful and I can't wait to try it. It went to the freezer so it won't go bad before I can enjoy it.

Give me your bread recipes!

I got like 3 loaves of bread, but actually nice loaves (not the kind you get at the grocery store).

I froze all of them for the time being, but I need some great ideas for them!

*If sandwiches, they need to be vegetarian so not Reuben or chicken salad or anything. And hopefully nicer than grilled cheese! lol

Al’s Gourmet Popcorn - Cincinnati, OH

This was $5 plus tax. At retail, I think this is about $15 of popcorn, so 1 bag is appropriate.

*Background is blue because I took the pic on the bus. lol. But the popcorn itself is that same blue you see.

How recent does the photo need to be?

My US passport will need to be renewed this coming winter. It’s an 18+ one

Due to how my financial situation is, I’d prefer to get the photos done as soon as I can. So how early can I get away with the photos themselves?

What do yo use to clean the bathtub/sink of a house with older pipes?

I can't figure this out and Google keeps only giving me results about drain cleaners. But I want to clean the sink or tub itself, not the damn drain! My drains run fine, I just want to clean the actual sink/tub!

What products should I actually use? Everything seems to either be abrasive and unsafe OR to clear a clogged drain, neither of which I want!

Do I have any route to get UK citizenship?

I have a grandmother who was born in Wales, but left for England when she was 3 and was there for the rest of her childhood before ultimately moving to Canada. She passed away in 2019.

My parents were both born in Canada, and I also have Canadian citizenship.

But is there any route to citizenship in the UK based on my grandmother (so 2 generations)?

US Bank is an awful bank

I had an account with US Bank for a total of 17 years probably, but closed it because I was having an insane amount of fraud for my debit and credit cards (which were both US Bank at the time) and the interest rate is like 1 penny a year. Credit card got moved by the retailer to Capital One because apparently they weren't happy with US Bank either.

Well, we have 3 major banks in my city (one of which being US Bank). Went in trying to get ONE DOLLAR exchanged for quarters, and they told me I couldn't do it without an account. That being said, Capital One doesn't really deal with cash even in their cafes. But the other 2 major banks will do such an exchange with ZERO issues or even questions.

US Bank is full of terrible policies and I wouldn't recommend them to ANYBODY

My pin collection

My local Zoo (Cincinnati) is doing pins for their 150th anniversary last year and continuing the pins into this year.

I don’t normally collect stuff, buy I am with these! Currently at 23! I need another 12 by the end of the year to fill up my pin board.

Haven’t been as hardcore as some people though about the collecting, but this has been fun!

Why do people bully service workers?

And by service workers, I mean the people who work at grocery stores, restaurants, movie theaters, etc.

I mean the whole behavior of acting like we're beneath them and undeserving of being treated with respect.

Whose idea was it to do gummy bears covered with chocolate?

I work at a theater and can’t post photos, but they’re called “Muddy Bears”. Basically chocolate covered gummy bears.

Texture-wise, this sounds awful. Nobody buys them either, even children so it sounds awful to them too.

Doesn’t even sound appealing. Like, whose idea was this???

I have a subscription for Toyota Connected Services, but I got a new card this month because of some stuff and the card on file isn't valid anymore. But I have no idea how to go about changing the card on file.

The idea of working 2 jobs is foreign to many of these managers

I work one job in the evenings (which I'm happy with), but need a job in the daytime to actually get the money I need to survive.

Given that this is true for so many of us, why do so many jobs refuse to hire you if you don't have full availability?

Has anybody here gotten an oil change within the past week?

I saw an article that the war in Iran was coming for our oil changes and making that price surge. Just like it has with gas prices.

If anybody has gotten an oil change in the past few days, has your price changed?

Also, how many of you go to Valvoline for an oil change? Did you have issues, and if so, what?

Don’t send me any judgment for the fact I normally go to the dealership for oil changes and maintenance. Coming up on an oil change and trying to figure out what I need to do.
Changing oil myself isn’t an option.

Does anyone know of a seller who could custom-make this?

When my grandmother died, I got a beautiful glass egg (ok, a little larger than an egg) with a capricorn on it. This went to me because I was the only other capricorn in the family.

But I'm wanting a sort of stand to put it in so it won't roll off a tabletop and break or something awful like that.

It's something one could probably do with a 3-D printer, but I don't have one at my disposal. I'm willing to pay for it, but does anyone know of a seller who could/would do something like this?

Time stamps on shipped orders makes no sense

I ordered a new raincoat from REI (from the website). It's been shipped and supposed to arrive tomorrow, but the part I'm confused by is the latest timestamp is an hour in the future (2:15, and I write this at 1:18).

I live in Eastern time and the timestamp is in my city, so this makes no sense to me.

Has anybody else seen this or know how/why it happens?

UPDATE: I got yet another update that it's out for delivery. Expected delivery date hasn't changed, but the time stamp is 5:18pm....it's currently 1:50 as I write this.

Do you think Global Financial Impact or Northwestern Mutual is worse?

Someone from GFI is trying to recruit me after finding out somewhere online that I have an undone license.

I haven’t been able to get an answer on which is a
Worse company to work for.
