Why do some people refuse to share their exam preparation strategy after getting selected
I recently met a guy on a train who told me he had already cleared the exam last year. He was preparing again to improve his rank so he could get a home posting.
I asked him how he prepared and what strategy worked for him. But he didn't really explain anything. He just said, "Padhte raho, sab ho jayega" (just keep studying, everything will work out).
I understand that everyone has their own strategy, and maybe he didn't want to share it. But I was genuinely looking for some practical advice from someone who had already cleared the exam.
I'm curious about a few things:
- Do some selected candidates deliberately avoid sharing their preparation strategies?
- Is it because they want to keep their competitive advantage, or do they simply not know how to explain what worked for them?
- If you've cleared a competitive exam, do you openly share your strategy with aspirants who ask for help?
