Have you guys ever broken something trying to fix an issue yourself? If so, how easily were you able to get the issue fixed with Segway.

I broke a plastic piece of my folding mechanism, now I’m kinda worried it’s going to cost me about 70 bucks to fix it since I may have to buy the whole stem. Problem is I don’t see the little plastic part listed on their website even though I find all types of small parts for the scooters on there

How do you guys feel about those who come here taking about how “All glory be to God”, after they get their renewal?

Do you guys feel that it’s tone def or think they aren’t being insensitive to all of us stuck in this situation. I honestly can’t tell if I am in the right or in the wrong by being so irritated with these posts.

Did anyone here tighten the G3 stem yourselves?

My step is wobbly back and forth. I heard this was easy to fix, but I’m not sure if that’s true and if I should just take it to the shop

Has anyone here applied for unemployment after seeing card reproduced but before physically receiving your card?

I’m wondering when legally we are able to legally apply for unemployment. If anyone here has first hand experience with this I would appreciate it.

Hey guys, I just thought I would share some things I have learned the hard way with the April- June people who seem to be showing up here recently.

Expedite requests aren't useless. Lots of people come here and tell you they submitted one and either never got a response or feel that it had nothing to do with their approvals. This is because many people filed their DACA renewal 2-3 months before they expired, or didn't file an expedite request until a month or so before they were about to expire. The unfortunate truth is that expedite requests take about a month to go through and be taken into consideration. If you didn't file with enough time, or don't provide enough evidence, then they get tossed out. Usually since many people wait until a month before they are about to expire, its hard to tell if their request actually helped in them getting approved in the end.

Mandamus isn't something you can file without merit. A lot of people wait to file 2-3 months before expiration, and then simply say they will file a mandamus to not "put their life on hold". Mandamus are powerful because they are evaluated by a judge. So a judge decides if you qualify based on time filed, financial pain caused, steps you have taken before it such as inquiries, etc.

My advice: Build a case. Start by reaching out to your congressman, file an out of normal time frame inquiry, and an expedite request. Show that you made attempts through out your waiting period, with a reasonable time frame. When you send pre-suits letters, make sure to send any paper work of your termination, or pay stubs if you have them.

Something that I have found very bothersome is seeing people who have been approved, and knowing many of them (not all) took the steps I mentioned above. Most people who have posted on here, who have filed, even after I did, I have noticed started taking steps 2-3 months before their work permit was about to expire, and started up with inquiries and reaching out to congressmen. It's bothersome to see this, because even though what happened is out of my hands., I feel that if I would have done what they did I wouldn't be in this situation today.

So to all the post Feb people who are starting to come on here, take my advice. Start building your case early, even if you don't see API updates, or hear back from the congressman after they filed an inquiry for you. From what I have seen on here, all this helps, it just takes times, sadly more time than most people allow for it to work.

And I write all this as one of the lucky ones, relatively speaking. I have plenty of savings, filed 6 months before expiration, and was given 4k in unpaid PTO (I'm union) before being placed on LOA for 5 months, while hopefully only needing about one or one and a half at most. Even so, I feel like I have lost my stability. All those PTO hours, were hours I saved for over 2 years for my university next year. I am studying a STEM major, and now I am worried about not having the flexibly to call off when I need to for my classes.

Let's get a community consensus of how useful Pre-Lawsuits actually are. To people who filed Pre-Lawsuits:

When did you expire?
When did you file?
Did you email it, upload it, mail it, or use more than one method?
Was it written by you or an attorney?
Did you also submit an expedite request, congressional inquiry, service request, or take any other action?
Did USCIS acknowledge or respond to the notice?
Did you get approved? If so, how long after? Do you feel like any action you took was relevant to your acceptance based on the timing?
If anyone wants to answer this with their Mandamus, feel free to do so.
If you are still waiting, how long has it been since you sent it?

Having trouble figuring out how to submit my prelaw-suit letter…

Do I submit it in the messages (inbox) by starting a new message with my I-821D under my account tab or under evidence under my pending I-821D on the documents tab under upload evidence?

There seems to be 3 types of Submissions for Pre- April 27th Bios

Those who were part of the June wave
Those who get approved as the weeks progress

and those that for some reason left behind.

As an early Feb submission... Watching those who filed in the days/weeks after me are the most depressing. Even more so than those who get approved in under a month.

This question is due to the new rules(after August 5th) that anything missing or not correct gets the request ignored : To those of you who sent pre-lawsuit letters, or expedite request...

Did you include a cover letter?
Did you type it or used an Apple pen?
If you typed it or used an apple pen: Did you sign with an apple pen or printed it and signed it with ink?

Also, if anyone would like to share:

What was your time frame? From filling, expiring and sending the requests and being approved?

I ask all this because I had no idea cover letters were needed. I just filled out a letter using my Apple pen (which looks just like a regular pen) and also signed it with the Apple pen. I am worried by doing that simple thing I am ruining the whole process.

Not sure if I messed up doing the phone inquiry, but it did not go as I expected....

I called the number at the bottom of my receipt, and I talked to a live agent. She was very nice, and professional. I was under the impression that when you called a live agent to make an inquiry, they would fill out some sort of short form or ask you questions to send some sort of notice to USCIS.

I told her I had called to make an expedited adjudication, and told her about how I have lost my job and have no way to pay my bills. She told me how to submit a written letter to ask to be expiated, and told me to also upload the letter from my employee saying I had been terminated.
I knew all this already, and told her I was confused as to what was going on. She said her job was to let me know how to go about the preprocess, but uploading the letter and proof was all up to me, and that is what might move things forward. I told her I was confused, and told her I thought calling her was the whole point of a phone inquiry, and told her I thought she was suppose to give me some number at the end. She gave me a number, which I am not even sure if I wrote it 100% correctly. I was just so bummed out and confused.

Did I do something wrong? I am getting desperate. I don't live with my family or get help from anyone. I am not sure if I should just submit that expedite request online, and submit a pre-suit letter at the same time. I'm not even sure if that makes sense to do, but I am desperate.

Has anyone here ever taken the 33 bus to Union station at 2-3 in the morning?

I might have to take the 33 from the west side and get off at Union station. At first I thought it was pretty cool the bus finished in a lot inside of the Union station property, but then I heard past 12 am it’s last stop is in the street outside of Union station. I’m kinda worried because I’m not sure how sketchy the area around Cesar Chavez and Vignes is at 2-3 in the morning.

To those who sent a pre-lawsuit letter. Did you guys do it yourself or did anyone here hire a lawyer?

I would want to try to do it myself but I am worried about not doing it right or accidentally sending it to the wrong place.

Is the G3 suppose to wobble very very little from front to back? I can’t remember if it’s always been this way.

My stem wobbles just a tiny bit from front to back but not side to side. Maybe it’s always been like this, I just never noticed it and it’s completely normal. Can anyone let me know if this is just something I have never noticed and I am just tripping or if I need to tighten something.

Is General Lees in Downtown LA a flirty bar?

I actually wanted to check out desert 5 but I heard it’s not a flirty bar, so I’m not sure if I should check out Lees instead?
