Can anyone guess the size of this? Looking to buy

Love this little bike but was wondering what size it might be. I’m 6’2 and it looks a bit small

Would you leave MBB after 1 month for a job paying ~double?

Just started out of college at an MBB firm full time where I previously interned twice. I'm about a month in and got an offer from a close friend who has an AI startup that just raised a large seed round to join in an operations role for 200k base + bonuses 50-100k + equity. I would essentially be getting paid double, although I would be working more hours and the job would have less 'security' and more implied risk.

Just started out of college at an MBB firm full time where I previously interned twice. I’m about a month in and got an offer from a close friend who has an early-stage AI startup to join in an operations/strategy role.

The offer would be around $200k base + $50–100k in bonuses + equity. All-in I’d essentially be getting paid close to double, although I’d probably be working more hours and obviously taking on significantly more risk and losing exit opportunities if the company fails

The startup recently just raised a solid seed round & has good revenue and so it’s not completely speculative, but it’s still early stage.

I’m pretty torn. MBB feels like the safer option and I worry leaving after literally one month could be shortsighted, especially this early in my career, and would look bad on the resume. On the other hand, the startup seems like a much higher-upside opportunity financially.

Would you leave, or stick out MBB for at least a year or two?

nashbar triple tube for $350?

Wondering what you experts think of this bike. I’ve been looking for a commuter that I can have an ear rack on, and that looks awesome. This nashbar seems to fulfill both of these roles but wanted to get some more input to see if it would be worth it.

One of my main concerns is the size. I’m 6’2 and typically ride 58cm bikes so based on the description this one may be too small. Seller says that he has short legs, so maybe it would work? Generally for a bike like this, should the handlebars be at the same height as the saddle? My road bikes have a lot more seatpost showing than on this bike, but I assume that’s how they’re intended to be ridden.

Nonetheless, this is a beautiful bike and it’s really calling my name!

No drive side photo is a bummer! I’ll upload it if I can get a hold of it.

Show me your commuter!

I’m hoping to build or buy a commuter to get around town but need some inspiration. It’s a hard balance, I want something that I feel cool riding but not cool enough that it’ll get stolen. Currently thinking an old hard rock or stump jumper fits the bill, or maybe a cheap gravel bike!

Which sl8 warranty color? Anyone have Lagoon Blue?

Specialized approved my SL8 warranty claim for a paint bubbling issue and sent me these replacement color options. The original color (second photo) was a big reason I bought the bike, so I asked if they had anything besides the usual black/white warranty frames.

I’m leaning toward Gloss Lagoon Blue, but I can’t find a single photo of an SL8 in that color. Does anyone here have one or know if it was ever a production color?

Also, I noticed “Tarmac SL8 SW - Satin Carbon / White” at the bottom of the screenshot. For anyone familiar with Specialized warranties, is it worth asking if that’s actually an option, or is it just something that wasn’t fully cropped out? I know sometimes people are upgraded to s-works which would be cool to say the least

My $7.5k Specialized Quiver!

‘21 Shiv w/ 2x11 Ultegra di2 & Hollowgram R SL 64s ($2500)
‘24 SL8 w/ 2x12 Mixed SRAM E1 & Enve 5.6 ($2300)
‘18 Diverge w/ 1x11 mullet Di2 & Hunt 40 CGR ($1200)
‘23 Crux / 1x12 Force & Roval C38s (pictured in road mode, going to put some Tufo Thunderos on it) ($1500)

My total cost of all these bikes for was ~$7500, all purchased on the second hand market. I made a full post about the SL8 that some of you may have seen, explaining how I got the cost so low. The story is similar for most of the other bikes, just priced very well on FB. Very happy with my bikes and it’s a great coincidence that they’re all Specialized!

… N+1?

48mm Tufo Thunderos on '23 Crux?

The '23 crux has a tire clearance of 47mm. I will likely be using Hunt 40 CGR wheels with a 25mm internal rim width. I ride exclusively in dry gravel and was wondering if anyone else has ran the same tires on this bike or if it will be too close. If its too close what are some other options that might help me max out my tire clearance! trying to get as wide tires as possible

Is this s-works venge legit?

I have purchased a bike from this seller, but the price of this bike is suspiciously low

$1200 for ‘23 Cruz Pro? (No wheelset)

Just getting a gut check, but I’m pretty confident that I will purchase it if it doesn’t have any frame damage. 2023 crux pro with Sram force D1 xplr. Wheelset and cassette not included. This is a great deal, right? Seller said he works at specialized so I assume he’s just passing on the good deal he got on it.

I picked up some pretty new Roval C38s a few weeks ago that some guy was selling for $350 and was thinking to put them on this bike but was wondering if it would be a bad idea given the narrower internal rim width?

Price is in USD.

$1200 ‘23 Specialized Crux Pro? (No Wheelset)

Just getting a gut check, but I’m pretty confident that I will purchase it if it doesn’t have any frame damage. 2023 crux pro with Sram force D1 xplr. Wheelset and cassette not included. This is a great deal, right? Seller said he works at specialized so I assume he’s just passing on the good deal he got on it.

Also, as an aside, I picked up some pretty new Roval C38s a few weeks ago that some guy was selling for $350 and was thinking to put them on this bike but was wondering if it would be a bad idea given the narrower internal rim width?

Other than that, I would just need rotors, a 10-44 cassette, and some tires, I am thinking of maxing out the clearance at 47mm.

Finally finished my $2300 SL8!

This is/was a 24’ Expert level build. Initially bought with Roval C38s, the rapide handlebar, and rival D1 for $2200. Sold that wheelset, the rival RD, rival powermeter crankset, and brakes + calipers for a combined $1300. Found great FB/ebay deals for NIB force brakes ($500), force RD ($240), Red 165mm crank arm ($200), Red Chainrings ($160). ExpertVoice had a crazy pricing error for a couple days so I got the Garmin Rally RK200s for <$300 brand new. Still has a rival cassette, chain, and FD.

Got the ENVEs for basically free. Bought a beautiful Allez sprint build with these ENVEs for $1400, put some alloy wheels on it and sold it for $2500.

My total cost was about $2300 all in. This bike has been amazing to ride on, it’s unlike any other race bikes I’ve ridden, it just feels so stiff. I feel so fortunate to be able to ride it and thank the Facebook marketplace gods for sending good deals my way!

If anyone has a suggestion for a subtle bell or Garmin varia mount lmk!

Road trip!

24’ tarmac sl8 + 18’ diverge. Both wonderful bikes, but I’m thinking I’ll need to update the diverge to something with wider tire clearance soon!

In a big fan of the sea suckers. First few times you use them you're always looking up to make sure the bikes are still there but now I'm pretty comfortable with them.

Just realized I have been riding ENVE prototypes!

Took off from a Allez sprint build with all enve components (including bottle cages) that I bought on fb marketplace. I moved these wheels to a different bike a while ago and have had them on my sl8, but just noticed this sticker on both wheels. 3/10 interesting but thought I’d share. Curious if anyone else has the same

Screw on sram axs shifter broke inside. What to do?

This upper screw broke and the shop is saying now it’s leaking DOT fluid through the seam (where I put the orange dots). The rest of the screw is still inside and it seems that it can’t be removed by trying to slot it and back it out. I didn’t want to take this apart without being sure, but how would you suggest I fix this? If I take out the bottom two screws will I have access to the broken half of the upper screw?

Any idea why someone would do this to the bleed port?

Bought the bike used. Sram rival d1 components, seller had installed a new one piece handlebar and in the description said the bike just needed a front brake bleed. I took it into the shop and after a while they found this on the bleed port of the left side shifter. I don’t remember everything that was said about what the current issue is, but it was something about the bladder not holding the DOT fluid properly or the O-ring seal being poor and this causing leakage. Honestly just wondering why someone would do this and if the only option would be to replace the shifter? The mechanic seemed iffy about being able to fix it.

Any pics of warranty frame SL8s?

I posted recently about some paint bubbling near my bottom bracket on ‘24 tarmac sl8. I bought the bike used but since it’s been <two years since original owner purchased it and I have proof of payment, they said that they would honor the warranty and would replace the frame. The replacement frame would be a glossy black with white decals that apparently is not available for purchase and is just their stock replacement color. I’m wondering if anyone else has gotten an sl8 warranty frame and would like to see how it looks.

Specialized suggested that I keep the frame since I like my current frame color and since the paint issue is largely hidden/non structural. However, It seems a bit silly not to take a free replacement frame though black and white is just a bit boring compared to the lilac color I have right now.

NBD! $200 SuperSix Hi-Mod 2011

N+1 for me! Picked up this bad boy for $200 bucks today, in very good condition. It’s a 2011 SuperSix Hi-Mod 2 with Sram Red 2x10.

I was initially looking for a cheap commuter but stumbled across this and couldn’t pass it up. Obviously it’s no commuter but it’s so fun to ride, very stiff and responsive, but most of all it’s LIGHT!
Not sure when I should bring it out as I already have a road bike I love but could be fun for coffee rides, lmk if you have ideas (maybe make it into a climber?)
