Dneska jsem dostal strašnou chuť na lentilky. (suďte si mě, ale more, já je mám fakt rád) Jak mi začla obědová pauza (13:00), vystřelil jsem do Alberta (co mám hned vedle školy) koupit si lentilky. Když jsem vstupoval do prodejny, NIKDE NIKDO a u pokladny úplné volno. Došel jsem k regálu se sladkostmi, popadl tu velkou tubu lentilek a než jsem pohodovou chůzí došel k pokladnám, bum! U pokladen asi 20 důchodců, každý s obřím nákupem jako kdyby doma živili regiment. Prostě se tam teleportovali, nedokážu si vysvětlit jak jinak se tam mohli dostat. Moje výprava za lentilkami mě stála 25 minut, z toho většinu jsem strávil u poklady čekáním až se důchodci vyprdelí. Může mi někdo vysvětlit, proč ještě pořád platíme důchodce, kteří tak akorát brání studentům v přístupu k lentilkám? Jak k tomu jako přijdu? Všem bych naordinoval 16 hodinovou směnu v továrně na lentilky, aby byli konečně prospěšní!!!

Jinak všechno dobře dopadlo, lentilky jsem sežral ještě než se mi ohřál oběd v školní mikrovlnce. Ale masralo mě to. 20 minut čekat abych zapltil podělaný lentilky, to je na mě moc. Jak se najednou k tý kase teleportovali, zrovna když jsem spěchal, to jim nikdy neodpustím, a nikdy nepochopím jak to zvládli. 19 BBY Supreme Chancellor Election — What if Mace Windu killed Palpatine?

Before we begin, I recommend taking a look at my overview of the political factions in the Galactic Senate, since I will be referring to these factions throughout the post.

I decided to explore what a Supreme Chancellor election in 19 BBY might have looked like if Mace Windu had actually killed Palpatine during their confrontation in Revenge of the Sith. For the purposes of this scenario, I am assuming that Anakin arrives as in the film, but either hesitates for a few seconds too long or ultimately refuses to intervene against Windu. Palpatine dies, Anakin never becomes Darth Vader, General Grievous has already been killed on Utapau, and Count Dooku is already dead.

Sidenote 1. I am also combining Canon with some useful Legends material, particularly information on the political factions of the Senate and the GAR Contingency Orders.

Sidenote 2. When I describe a faction as "supporting" a candidate, I do not mean that these factions are formal political parties with their own electorates or binding party leadership. They are loose senatorial blocs. I am describing how I think senators associated with those factions would align during the crisis.

Here is my timeline:

0–3 hours after Palpatine's death

The Jedi's first priority is not taking power but proving that what just happened was not a Jedi coup, since from the perspective of an ordinary senator, the situation looks catastrophic: several Jedi Masters entered the office of the legally elected Supreme Chancellor, three of them died, and shortly afterwards Mace Windu killed Palpatine.

So:

1. Windu immediately contacts Yoda and the Jedi Council.

2. The Chancellor's office is secured and every available piece of evidence is preserved: Palpatine's lightsaber, the bodies of Agen Kolar, Saesee Tiin and Kit Fisto, security recordings, communications records and anything else that might establish what happened.

3. Anakin Skywalker suddenly becomes one of the most important witnesses in the Republic, since he can testify that Palpatine personally revealed himself to be Darth Sidious and attempted to recruit him before Windu went to arrest the Chancellor.

Then Jedi release as much evidence as they safely can and Windu publicly announces that he will submit himself to an independent investigation into Palpatine's death once the immediate security crisis has been resolved.

Now Palpatine's death creates another immediate problem.

Under GAR Contingency Order 4, temporary command of the Grand Army passes to the Vice Chair of the Senate when the Supreme Chancellor becomes incapacitated - that means Mas Amedda. (Order 65 is no longer particularly relevant because Palpatine is already dead. Order 4 is the real danger.)

Amedda - Palpatine's aide immediately understands what is happening. If Palpatine is proven to have been Darth Sidious, any investigation of his inner circle will inevitably reach both Mas Amedda and Sly Moore. Both were among Palpatine's closest confidants and thus unlike ordinary senators who merely supported Palpatine politically, they have genuine reason to fear what investigators will discover.

An emergency session of the Galactic Senate is called.

That's why Amedda must attempt to exercise his authority as Vice Chair and presents himself as the constitutional guarantor of continuity. He claims that:

> The Jedi have assassinated the Supreme Chancellor and are now trying to remove the constitutional officer who succeeded him.

For exactly this reason, the Jedi cannot simply arrest him themselves, instead, Anakin's testimony and evidence recovered from Palpatine's office are presented to senior Republic officials and the Senate Security Council.

Thanks to that, Bail Organa, Mon Mothma, Padmé Amidala and other senators demand that Amedda's authority be temporarily suspended until his connection to Palpatine can be investigated. Amedda and Sly Moore are because of that detained by Republic authorities, on the grounds that they are potential participants in Sidious's conspiracy, possess access to highly sensitive government information and may attempt to destroy evidence. (They have not yet been convicted thou.)

The Senate Security Council and senior military leadership maintain temporary control of the Republic's military until a new Chancellor can be elected.

3–5 hours after Palpatine's death

Anakin gives his testimony to the The Senate and once again provides jedi evidence, Mace Windu gives his account of the confrontation and formally agrees to submit to an independent investigation.

The Loyalist coalition begins to disintegrate - Senators who had supported Palpatine now desperately attempt to distance themselves from him. Others insist that the evidence could have been fabricated and accuse the Jedi of murdering a political opponent.

There are demands for arrests from both sides - Some arrests probably do take place, particularly among members of Palpatine's administration for whom investigators have actual evidence (but there is no general purge of senators simply for supporting Palpatine).

Padmé is in complicated position, she was once one of Palpatine's protégés and had known him since the Naboo Crisis, but she was also one of the most important opponents of his accumulation of emergency powers by 19 BBY. That makes her almost uniquely useful in demonstrating that the emerging anti-Palpatine coalition is not simply a collection of Jedi sympathizers and lifelong enemies of the Chancellor.

Senate comes to conclusion that new Supreme Chancellor must be elected as quickly as possible.

Padmé Amidala due to her pregnancy and her complicated history with Palpatine steps back for maternity leave.

Meanwhile: the Confederacy enters its own crisis

Palpatine's death creates an equally serious crisis inside the CIS. (Count Dooku is dead, General Grievous is dead, Darth Sidious is dead, and, unlike in the original timeline, Darth Vader never travels to Mustafar to murder the Executive Separatist Council)

The corporate leadership of the Confederacy therefore survived, but the Separatist Senate on Raxus also survives.

Most importantly, Bec Lawise is dead, wich gives the Peace Faction a much easier path than it would otherwise have had. There is no pro-Dooku Congress Leader sitting in the chair attempting to suppress the entire process.

The Separatist senate holds an emergency session to deal with the simultaneous deaths of Dooku, Grievous and Sidious.

By Bluss, one of the founders of the Separatist Senate and an established member of the Peace Faction, emerges as the strongest candidate to replace Lawise as Separatist Congress Leader, while Voe Atell becomes one of his strongest opponents.

Despite opposition from Atell and the War Faction, Bluss is able to assemble a majority and becomes the new Separatist Congress Leader.

Under Bluss, the Separatist Senate votes to:

1. halt new offensive operations

2. order Confederate forces to hold their current defensive positions

3. request an immediate ceasefire with the Republic

4. investigate Dooku's wartime government

5. and begin negotiations over the future of the Confederacy

Then the real problem begins.

> Does the Separatist Senate actually have the power to order the Confederate war machine to stop fighting?

The Executive Separatist Council says no.

Nute Gunray, Wat Tambor, San Hill, Shu Mai, Passel Argente and the other members of the Council face a very different calculation from ordinary Separatist senators. They risk losing their corporations, political influence, wealth and possibly their freedom once investigations into the conduct of the war begin. The Executive Council therefore claims that the civilian Senate has no authority to terminate wartime command while the Republic military remains a threat.

The Senate moves to restrict the Council's authority and the Council refuses to recognize the decision.

The Confederacy now has two competing centers of power - Raxus and Mustafar

5–7 hours after Palpatine's death

Three serious candidates emerge in the Galactic Senate.

Bail Organa

Organa receives the support of virtually the entire Core Faction, Mon Mothma's substantial part of the collapsing Rim Faction, and significant number of Militarists.

His supporters want something that is new in the Republic. They do not want another Palpatine. They want a functional central government. (In other words, a government closer to what most modern states would consider normal: a central authority capable of maintaining a military, collecting revenue, enforcing common laws and making decisions that apply throughout the Republic.)

Organa therefore presents a platform that could be summarized as:

> A stronger Republic, but a weaker Chancellor.

Organa promises:

1. an immediate review of Palpatine's emergency powers

2. restoration of meaningful Senate oversight

3. a strong and functional central government

4. an investigation into Palpatine's administration

5. continued military readiness until Confederate forces actually stand down

6. and peace negotiations conducted from a position of strength

He is willing to end the war, but compared others, he intends to be significantly tougher on the Separatists.

Zinn Paulness

Nominated by Dantum Roohd, Paulness becomes the consensus candidate of the overwhelming majority of the Council of Neutral Systems, alongside many Institutionalists, and parts of the collapsing Rim Faction.

Paulness is not simply a stereotypical pacifist - after the attack on Coruscant's power grid, he himself adopted a much harder position toward the Confederacy. That makes him much harder for military-minded senators to dismiss as naïve.

Paulness promises:

1. a rapid negotiated end to the Clone Wars

2. a major reduction in the powers of the Supreme Chancellor

3. restoration of the balance between the Chancellor and Senate to at least its pre-Separatist Crisis level

4. stronger protections for planetary autonomy

5. and relatively generous terms for Confederate systems willing to disarm

His argument is fundamentally different from Organa's - Organa believes Palpatine corrupted a system that can still be repaired. Paulness argues that the system itself made Palpatine possible, thus Republic must therefore decentralize power before another Chancellor repeats what he did.

Ask Aak

Nominated with the support of Orn Free Taa, Aak receives support from the remaining hard-line elements of the old Rim political establishment and part of the Militarist bloc. His candidacy is effectively Orn Free Taa's last attempt to keep the remains of the Rim Faction politically relevant. (There is even a historical precedent! In 32 BBY, another senator connected to Malastare, Ainlee Teem, emerged as an alternative candidate for Supreme Chancellor with substantial backing from the Rim political establishment and Ask Aak fits a similar role remarkably well.)

As represents Malastare, he has connections to both the Rim political tradition and the Militarists. Plus he is relatively young and inexperienced compared with other figures sand Orn Free Taa likely believes that he can influence an Aak administration far more easily than he could ever influence Organa or Paulness.

But the Rim Faction has already been devastated by the Separatist Crisis.

(Many of its former systems joined the Confederacy, its alliance with the Militarists became increasingly dependent on Palpatine, and now a substantial group of its remaining senators has broken away politically from Orn Free Taa and is prepared to vote with centrists - politicians who were traditionally among the Rim Faction's strongest opponents.)

7–8 hours after Palpatine's death

Ask Aak realizes that his candidacy is hopeless, so he formally withdraws and endorse Bail Paulness.

From Aak's perspective, Organa represents the coalition that has just politically destroyed the Rim Faction, Paulness, by contrast, is a decentralist and a member of the Council of Neutral Systems, but he has also demonstrated that he is willing to take a hard line against the Confederacy when necessary. For Aak, the choice is simple:

> the enemy of my enemy is my friend

This decision is politically devastating for Orn Free Taa - his own preferred candidate has abandoned him, large part of the old Rim Faction has moved toward Organa and rest now follows Aak toward Paulness. And Taa can no longer hold the bloc together, he resigned as senator. The faction itself has effectively ceased functioning as a coherent political force.

8–9 hours after Palpatine's death

The election is now effectively a contest between Bail Organa and Zinn Paulness. Paulness attempts to delay the vote for as long as possible, every additional hour gives senators more time to process the scale of Palpatine's conspiracy and every new revelation strengthens Paulness's central argument:

> simply replacing Palpatine with another powerful Chancellor is not enough, we must restore the Senate's authority and negotiate a rapid settlement with Raxus

Organa argues that this would go too far. This, is the worst possible moment to transform the Republic into an even looser confederation of largely autonomous systems. He instead proposes a capable centralized Republic with strong institutional limits on the Chancellor.

9 hours after Palpatine's death

Bail Organa is elected Supreme Chancellor of the Galactic Republic, Paulness concedes the election, but his unexpectedly strong performance demonstrates just how dramatically Palpatine's death has reshaped the Senate.

Organa immediately begins forming his Office of the Chancellor. He makes Mon Mothma Vice Chair, and Sei Taria becomes Organa's Chief of Staff, symbolically reconnecting the new administration with the pre-Palpatine Republic.

Mace Windu formally submits himself to an independent inquiry into Palpatine's death, the legitimate chain of command over the Grand Army is restored under the new Chancellor. The immediate constitutional crisis on Coruscant is over.

Meanwhile: Raxus and Mustafar move closer to open conflict

The Separatist Senate under By Bluss formally sends its ceasefire offer to Coruscant. It also passes legislation attempting to strip the Executive Separatist Council of its extraordinary wartime authority. The Executive Council rejects it, thus Orders from Raxus and Mustafar now directly contradict one another. Some Confederate commanders obey the Senate and halt offensive operations, others continue obeying the corporate military command structure.

10 hours after Palpatine's death

Organa accepts the ceasefire proposal from the Separatist Senate. At his request, Obi-Wan Kenobi is assigned to the Republic peace delegation, Padmé Amidala is also included because of her previous contacts with Separatist peace advocates. Organa is forced to includes both Zinn Paulness and Ask Aak as well, so now the delegation has representation from almost the entire spectrum of post-Palpatine Senate politics. It also prevents Paulness from claiming that Organa is negotiating the future of the galaxy without consulting his opposition.

The Republic presents its immediate conditions:

1. an immediate cessation of offensive operations

2. withdrawal of Confederate forces from worlds that never voluntarily joined the Confederacy

3. release and exchange of prisoners

4. suspension of major fleet movements

5. and negotiations over the disarmament of the central Confederate military

The Separatist Senate accepts these principles, but the Executive Separatist Council does not. The Republic is now negotiating peace with the Confederacy while simultaneously fighting Confederate military forces that no longer recognize the authority of their own Senate.

10–12 hours after Palpatine's death

The negotiations quickly reveal the major ideological difference between Organa and Paulness, since Paulness favors extremely generous terms for Confederate systems that recognize Raxus, observe the ceasefire and begin disarming.

Organa's original demands include:

1. complete demobilization of the central Confederate droid armies

2. withdrawal from all occupied Republic territory

3. Republic control or supervision of major strategic droid-production facilities

4. temporary military occupation of key Confederate military and industrial centers

5. reparations for worlds devastated during the war

6. surrender of the Executive Separatist Council

7. and investigations into senior military and political officials suspected of violations of the laws of war

At first, Organa even considers a much broader temporary occupation of Confederate territory until disarmament can be verified. This, of course immediately creates resistance among the Raxus delegation. Yoda also warns Organa that treating every Separatist world as equally responsible would be both unjust and strategically disastrous, that would push systems that are currently willing to follow Raxus directly into the arms of Mustafar. Padmé and Paulness make essentially the same argument from the political side.

Organa eventually compromises:

1. Confederate worlds that recognize the Raxus ceasefire and cooperate with disarmament remain under their own civilian governments

2. strategically important military installations are temporarily placed under Republic or joint supervision

3. worlds and fleets that continue obeying the Executive Council remain legitimate military targets

4. the central droid army is progressively demobilized

5. and senior military officers are individually screened for possible war crimes

Every officer is reviewed by a commission rather than automatically treated as a criminal merely for having served the Confederacy, those against whom credible evidence exists can be prosecuted for violations of the Galactic Accord of Systems and other applicable laws of war. The Separatist Senate accepts the framework.

The problem:

Mustafar says no - the Executive Separatist Council completely rejects the agreement. Nute Gunray, Wat Tambor, San Hill, Shu Mai, Passel Argente and the rest of the Council survive, they still possess enormous corporate resources. (They still control factories, they still control fleets and significant parts of the Confederate military still recognize their authority.) They therefore denounce the Raxus government as illegitimate and accuse By Bluss of surrendering the independence for which the Confederacy fought. Individual systems, admirals, corporate fleets and military commanders now have to choose - Raxus or Mustafar.

In the new Ahsoka II trailer, Thrawn addresses the "citizens of the glorious Empire." Could this be a sign that the Empire still exists within the Core Worlds?

Hi, I just finished the game for the first time, and I have to say that Caij Vanda's bounties were my favorite sidequest. Based on that, I’ve put together the following list of my favorite bounty hunters:

Kili Oso – my personal favorite. I enjoyed the fight against his army on the bridge, watching him execute another bounty hunter for cowardice, and seeing him retreat behind his reinforcements during the battle. 10/10 I’d hire him on spot if i could.

Vaslyn Martz – another capable warrior. I love how he used the terrain to gain an advantage! Even though he might not be quite as good as Kili, he's a 10/10.

Corde the Half and PR-85T the Other Half. While perhaps not quite as good as the previous ones, I enjoyed their partnership dynamic and the battle against them. 7/10

Masi Finau, Fenn Finau, and KLE-0—unlike the previous bounty hunters (Kili Oso, Vaslyn Martz, Corde the Half, and PR-85T the Other Half), whom I would readily hire as a team for mission which needs more muscles I cannot say the same for Brothers and their droid. (And rest of this list). Although I enjoyed the fight, I would venture to say they are effective only in confined spaces. If they had to fight in an open area, it would be easy to separate them and defeat each one individually. 4/10

Yuhong – I enjoyed the fight with him, but I think a good heavy blaster could stop him. 5/10

Gatt Medo – although I enjoyed seeing how he and his cronies utilized the terrain, I managed to bypass his ambush thanks to a shortcut, and it was I who launched a surprise attack. 3/10
