Recovering from food poisoning after eating, undercooked beans

Warning:this post is a little bit TMI because of mention of gastrointestinal

I don’t think this is necessarily crunchy, but I recently made a massive crockpot of chili to store away for a postpartum, and we have also eaten a few bowls. I used dry beans and last night when we were eating some, we noticed some of the beans were kind of undercooked, but I figured that since they cooked for quite a while and we’re soaked would be fine. well, I woke up in the middle of the night with severe diarrhea every 30 minutes along with some vomiting. I am pregnant so I’m having to really stay hydrated and eat bland to reset my stomach but from 3 AM to about 11 PM I was having some severe symptoms with small and after thinking about absolutely everything that it could be, I it was probably the undercooked beans in the chili. I think I’m through the worst of it, but has anyone accidentally given themselves food poisoning from undercooked beans and what are some things I can do to recover my gut because I was going to the bathroom for so long

Possible cyclospora while pregnant?

I am in my early third trimester and I woke up in the middle of the night with explosive watery diarrhea every 15 to 30 minutes and threw up a couple of times. I was able to fall back asleep for a few hours and woke up to the same thing but the problem is I don’t know what I could have eaten that could have exposed me and possibly now my toddler because she is showing signs because we have pretty much just stuck to cooked veggies that were either frozen or canned this whole time and frozen fruit not from Taylor farms. We don’t eat out either.I haven’t had any raw veggies since I heard about the outbreak and stayed away from salads in general

Tips for post partum fitness after a high risk pregnancy and while breastfeeding

Hi guys!I am 30 weeks pregnant and due to being high risk(I had a cerclage placed at 23 weeks),having a touch first trimester and i will also be getting my tubes removed 8 weeks pp,I know I will be in a rough spot for awhile and won’t be able to work out until I’m probably closer to 4m pp.I plan on getting with a pelvic floor pt to address any issues and I know that it will take a lot of time and effort especially with a toddler and a baby. What are some tips yall have for starting to get back in shape after a rough pregnancy while exclusi breastfeeding?my husband already knows that he will need to take care of the baby and toddler at times when he gets off work so that I can get at least 30 mins in so that’s covered.Im not expecting to “bounce back”necessarily but I just want to get stronger because my body is so weak from not being able to work out this time around

How are we handling naps with a newborn and toddler?

I am due soon and still cosleeping with my almost 20mo who still absolutely needs one nap and has to be snuggled to sleep no matter how tired she is.What I’m wondering for those of you whos toddlers still nap is how are you getting them to sleep while also taking care of a newborn? My husband will be able to handle bed time but he’s working during nap time.Toddler is the type who will literally have her eyes rolling in her head and still fight sleep unless she’s snuggled

Toddler wanting skin to skin time for bed again

My 20 mo has had long stretches at night in our bed by herself for awhile now,she has always been able to be rocked to sleep(or swung around by my husband lol)or just laid with.Over the past two weeks she has started to want constant contact with my skin to fall asleep to the point that if I’m wearing a shirt that fully covers my upper body she will thrash around and try to pull up my shirt so she can’t touch my stomach are wrap her arms around my neck.I am 30 weeks pregnant so idk if its because she knows and is just seeking closeness but it’s making it hard for me to get up to pee in the middle of the night because I have to pry her little arms off of me,sometimes she just flops over but sometimes she wakes up crying, she doesn’t care with her dad, she’s jusy very clingy again.I know she’s not cold because she usually has warm pajamas on and even sleeps half way under a blanke. Is this normal toddler behavior during pregnancy?

Extremely sore and stiff low back and hips from not being able to work out

I had to receive a cerclage at 23 weeks and now at 30 weeks my hips and lower back feel terribl.I am allowed to walk thankfully on my walking pad and do some light stretching but I frequently feel like mh lower back is going to seize up while I’m doing stuff around the house or getting out of bed and playing with my 19mo.I was told I could stretch but not what kind of stretches and to just do what feels okay,I just don’t know what can help and I’m worried about throwing my back out.I am thankful that I am not under as many restrictions as many (I’m under full pelvic rest and weight lifting unless it’s my toddler)but I am in a lot of pain from havinf to rest so much and not being able to work out.Is there anything I can do to help the stiffness?

Tips for getting 19mo to sleep?

My 19mo sleeps through the night for the most part when she actually falls asleep but it’s getting her to sleep that I’m having a problem with.I am pregnant and due in October (most likely September though because she was early)and even though she will be so tired that her eyes are rolling in her head and she’s yawning constantly she won’t stop trying to flip flop around and play.I used to rock her but it’s uncomfortable for me and my husband has to stand up and aggressively swing her around to get her to sleep. For awhile I could just lay with her while rubbing her back and singing but she doesn’t take that anymor. He can get her to sleep swinfinf her around relatively quickly most nights but while he’s at work I still have to handle her nap that she tends to fight off no matter how tired she is.Its not a schedule issue or a play issue she just has fomo I think and wants to mess around. We have a routine too that consistent ans low stimulation before bed.I wanted to get her to start to sleep in her own bed but I with the baby coming soon I know it will be hard on her already.Pleasw help this pregnant and tired mama who has posted in multiple groups but never gets a response

Deciding to get sterilized after 2

I am 24,have had one loss, one preemie and am 28 weeks with my second and high risk.I was diagnosed with cervical incompetency and has to get an emergency cerclage placed at 23 weeks after severe funneling and being 1cm dilated.Ive always wanted a bigger family but after a lot of prayer (my husband and I are Christians)and looking at my family history (im the 4th generation to have pregnancy complications and have a family history of uterine and ovarian cancer)and beinf told that for any future pregnancies I will be on a lot of restrictions on top of hard first trimesters,I have made the decision to get my tubes taken out.I will be talking to my OB soon to get more information and get everything scheduled but I am just sad that this will be our last biological child and that I cannot safely carry babies and take care of myself.I am thankful for my girls and that assuming all goes well with this pregnancy that I will have my amazing toddler and another baby girl and I know that we can hopefully adopt in the future but this is a decision I had hoped I would never have to make in my 20s because it’s so permanent. Are there any moms on here who have had to make the same decision?if so how was the whole process of recovery especially if you had a baby and a toddler?

Toddler keeps hitting head on the wall and waking herself up

My 19mo has started this weird habit of slowly moving up the bed in her sleep and hitting her head on the wall behind us which,as a resul, wakes her up.I spent half of last night pulling her down the bed because she wouldn’t stop wiggling up in her slee.I used to have a thin pillow that would block her but I removed my pillows because I am due with our second in september and want to get used to no pillows again.

Experience getting a salpingectomy?

I am 24 years old and will be talking to my Obgyn soon about getting my tubes fully removed. This isn’t something that I necessarily want to do because I was hoping to be able to physically have more than two children, but after having one loss, one preemie and having to get a circlage placed in my early second trimester after being diagnosed with an incompetent cervix, along with some family history of medical issues my decided that it would be best that I physically trying to carry children because I was told that for any future pregnancies, I will have to be under a lot of restrictions along with getting the surgery again early, and it has just been physically and mentally hard, especially while taking care of a toddler. We would opt for him getting a vasectomy but frankly we’ve known a lot of people who have had fail and I honestly just do not want to get pregnant again and would rather me go through the permanent route. So for those of you who have gotten your tubes removed, what was the process like? Was it hard to get approval to actually get it done because I know some women struggle to get agree to actually do the surgery? Did insurance cover it? Were there any harmful side effects years down the line? I don’t really know any women who have gotten their tubes fully removed only gotten them tied.

Experiencing with getting a salpingectomy?

I posted this yesterday, but deleted it because I needed to reword.

I have had a very hard history with pregnancies, I have had one loss, a preemie, and had to get a cerclage at 23 weeks because I was finally diagnosed with an insufficient cervix. I have a family history of fertility issues and I also have really bad First trimester on top of all of this. I have always wanted to have a bigger family but have realized that in order to take care of myself and be able to actually take care of my children. I am probably going to have to make a permanent decision to not get pregnant again, because the mental and physical toll of being high risk,on pelvic rest for the entire pregnancy and not able to work out and take care of my body due to restrictions it is just not wise for me to physically carry anymore children sadly.
not going to ask my to get a vasectomy because neither one of us like the risks that come with that after I heavily looked into it and I know too many people who have had failed vasectomies and I do not want to spend years using NFP(again because I do not want the possibility of it failing)or hormonal bc.I am thinking about talking to my OB about getting my tubes fully removed. Has anyone on here had experience with that? Was it hard to find a surgeon that was actually willing to do it? If you have any complication? Obviously every surgery has some type of risk but because I’m still in my 20s, I would like to still have my cycle but not get pregnant.

Toddler begging to sleep in crib but then getting mad after a few minutes?

I keep a crib next to my bed partially as fall protection and also because we will be turning it into a side car when my second is born in October. My toddler usually gets a stretch in the crib at night and sometimes naps but due to having a cerclage placed because of my high risk pregnancy and just dealing with soreness I’ve gotten her to sleep in my bed instead of bothering with rocking her to sleep and transferrin.Well,we hit a weird place where I started to roxk her to sleep again because bed time was taking too long laying next to her and rocking got her to sleep quickl. The new problem is that she just wants to skip the rocking chair and go straight into the crib and be comforted in the crib but after a few minutes gets mad that she’s in the crib? She goes down quickly for my husband who can just swing her around while standing but it’s been a mess with me lately tryinf to get her to sleep especially because I can’t do a whole lot right now and my husband is working during her nap time

Newborn and 2yo in the same bed

I am due in October with my second and we have been trying for 6 months now to get my now 19mo to get used to snuggling dad at night instead of me but she is still very attached so I have had to at least get her used to sleeping behind me(she will lot sleep in the crib next to the bed for more than a few hours even if I try to get her back to sleep)and most of the time that works but she just wants to be touching my neck a lot,she has been teething a lot,has gotten sick off and on,night weaned and full time weaned in the last 6 months so a lot of it has been her needing more comfort but I just don’t know what else to do to prepare her to not be snuggled by me at night once her sister is here.I will be doing a side car crib for her sister straight away and maybe chest sleepi at first so I know I will play around with the logistics of everything but has anyone else has to sleep with the toddler and the baby at the same time?their dad gets up early in the morning for work so my toddler be be left alone for quite awhile if I tried to do another bed
