What is your favourite featuring of an African country in a videogame?

I recently was watching this video in which the channel owner has attempted to find and play a videogame that features an African country. This is done for all countries and with no repeats. Some videogame titles set in/ featuring African countries are quite popular: Sniper Elite (Libya), Assassin’s Creed (Sao Gome & Principe, Egypt), Halo 3 (Kenya), Far Cry 2 (Mali).

However, some countries were poorly misrepresented because the video author- Foolish Pedro- unfortunately couldnt find good examples of games from those countries. Only things available were old games with poor graphic quality or not enough attention was paid in accurately depicting the terrain and architecture.

So I want to ask you to share a game that you think shows off your country adequately. Also would be cool if the developers are also from that country- no matter how obscure the game is 😄

Psychonauts 2 Speedrun highlights! (by a noob)

After very much enjoying my initial playthrough and getting 100% of collectibles, I decided to see what the Psychonauts 2 speedrun was like, and it honestly was an absolute blast trying to play as fast as I can and trying to plan the most efficient route. After 6+ runs I settled for a time of around 02:27:58, and the learning process was greatly enjoyable. And in this post, I want to highlight some moments, techniques, and hidden mechanics that were featured in my final run.

+00:00-00:18 Psi Hop tech is fun and simple. Pressing psi blast, roll, then jump inputs in quick succession gives you a big momentum boost. This is used to move faste around levels, leap rapidly at enemies, and to cross extra wide gaps.

+ 00:20-02:06 Prop Flying is a super fun piece of tech. To do it, simply grab a decent sized object from your surroundings, hop on it, teeter on the edge, and finally hold psi blast + TK the abject ALL WHILE holding the move control.
This trick is repeated all over: in Loboto’s brain , Hollis’ mind, with a typewriter in hair Ford, Mail room using the letter Y, with a cushion to reach the top of Bob’s tower as well as Cassie’s

+ 02:06 Lady Loctopus sneaky self redirect

+02:23 dive quest target then teleport to cutscene skip

+ 02:41 Knocking enemies off the map with Wrecking lev ball and also pulling them in water with connection

+02:56 Ball roll tech: holding psi blast while on bowling balls gives you a lot of extra speed- letting you jump out of bounds. Also the insane launch tech using the egg and the spinning blades is my favourite.

+03:40 I rush to a specific point in the room to block the spawn of a doubt, which leads it to glitch by dying out of bounds. And in 03:58 jumping at a Maligula tornadoe in just the right spots skips a cutscene and puts you right in Maligula’s mind

In general, this was super fun! Really recommend trying this out yerself.

What’s a country you’d like to travel to, but are hesitant to do so?

It would like to got to China, but my knowledge of the language is extremely poor and I feel like I would limit my opportunities severely.

What your goals for this month?

Whether it is a sub goal, views goal, or just the goal of uploading videos you’ve been working on! My goals are simple tbh- just keep working modestly on my animation and editing skills with hopefully 3 videos this month.

I was inspired by this post 2 years ago https://www.reddit.com/r/NewTubers/s/mYnwQUWOUS I saved it at the time, and today I looked back through the comments. It’s sad to see that many of them abandoned their channels by now! The most successful channel is probably OP themselves. Btw, this is also a gentle reminder to link ur YouTube account in your Reddit profile so people here can check you out easily.

What’s an underrated part of your country’s cuisine?

Pictured is “كرعين” - cow’s feet and chickpeas with some spicy sauce 😋 eating it does get my hands sticky though hhh

Frames Viewer randomly showing blank frames! (Then crashing)

Hundreds of frames at the bottom are randomly blank and only appear when I close and open the entire App. This issue happened like 9 times for me! Very annoying, and often followed by a crash (btw can we please get an option to disable the welcome animation)

A numerical oddity (fan animation)

Based on this person’s dream: https://www.reddit.com/r/adventuretime/s/tfjzCnJSp4

Took me 15 hours of total labour over a few days. I could not find convenient audio clips of Ice King or Jake- sorry for amateur audio. It was fun erasing Finn from the section that was lifted directly from the show. Also my animation software was fighting me the whole way 😭 (crashing, constant ads, no audio mixer, shitty paint tool, max 3 layers, horrible controls…)

Season 1 Invincible vs Season 1 Omniman - who wins and how?

Honestly it might be a closer fight than you think thanks to Mark’s adrenaline boost in such a situation.
