I made an RN and Expo shader UI library

l kept struggling to find Skia shader components that were actually ready to drop into an RN app. most shader code out there isn't built for RN's Skia renderer at all. So l put together my own library. Some shaders are free, others are from artists who charge for their work

l know ShaderToy exists, but that's generic GLSL you'd have to manually port to SkSL and adapt for RN UI. Мinе is already RN-Skia-ready and built specifically for UI components like buttons and panels etc.

Let me know if you'd use something like this

Would you use this?

Hi everyone! I made Basalt which lets you edit your RN or Expo app

But I recently made an update that lets different shader artists upload their works like different shaders for buttons, animations for letters etc. So basically it's like a marketplace for UI

And my question is: would you buy something or even use something like that for free?

I made editing apps easier

I made Basalt, an IDE extension that lets app devs to edit their app like visually like Figma

It is completely free and works directly inside VS Code and Cursor.

It’s currently in beta, so please commit your app to Git before testing it!

Would love to get your brutal feedback on it.

Built a tool for editing RN/Expo apps visually inside of your IDE

Been building Basalt solo - click on any element in your running RN/Expo app and edit it visually, with changes written directly back into your real source code. Works in VS Code and Cursor.

While building React 19 removed debugSource which would map the elements in the code so i had to spend 3 months rebuilding the algorithm

It's free, live now, still in beta (commit to git before using, just to be safe).

Curious if this is useful for how you actually build, would love a few of you to try it and tell me straight whether it fits your workflow? Brutal feedback welcome.

I made a tool that lets you edit your RN and Expo apps inside of your IDE

I made Basalt, its a demo / idea

I would find it inconvenient that i had to scan the QR code every time and look at my phone so i made an IDE that would just preview the phone, then when i would code i would want to be able to actually edit it like figma so thats what i did, it was really complicated to make so i had to use Cursor for some of the stuff

But what came out works better than i thought it would (atleast for me)

So i need yall's feedback

It is completely free and works directly inside VS Code and Cursor.

an IDE extension that lets you use your app like figma

Every time i make a change in my RN app id have to unlock my phone, go the expo app, scan the QR code, and then wait like 30 more seconds for app to load just to discover that the change that i made wasn't it

So i built Basalt, RN and Expo edit tool that lives in your IDE

Basalt, can change the color, edit text, move stuff, inspect where the element is located, or just preview your app

It is completely free and works directly inside VS Code and Cursor.

It’s currently in beta, so please commit your app to Git before testing it!

Title: I built a Figma-style visual editor for React Native/Expo, right inside VS Code

I kept hitting the same workflow problem building RN/Expo apps: change a value, rebuild, check the simulator, and it would turn into a cycle of constantly checking my phone. Design tools solved this decades ago with direct manipulation, but React Native never really had an equivalent.

So I started building something that turns your running app into a canvas you can click into directly. I had to use a build-time Babel step that tags each JSX element with its source location instead of relying on the runtime fiber data. (React 19 removed the fiber data)

From there it turned into an actual editor. You can change text, move things, resize things. All that without touching your phone.

(its demo so if you're going to use it, dont use it on anything important)
