Normalize blocking people who use onramps and breakdown lanes as their private lane

I’m so sick of people who think they have some special private lane they get to use to bypass traffic. Like SO sick. I was on the Kennedy today and traffic was bumper to bumper at the merge and I saw people start to use the on ramp to try to get around 7 or 8 cars in front of them and save 10 seconds while being hazards on the road. I did what we all SHOULD be doing and I pulled into the lane to block the next person. They were throwing up their hands and honking, and guess what - 10 seconds later they merged back in and shut up.

This is a civilized society last I checked, and this is not civilized behavior. The city doesn’t care to enforce the laws, so it’s on us to do so. I encourage everyone to start doing this, highlight of my day.

ELI5: Why do humans stop poopin sometimes when we get sick?

Im a poop at least once a day guy, but when I get sick, I’ll often not go for days at a time. Why can our digestion get interrupted from illness?

So I Started rereading WOT last year. I stopped at FoH when I was a kid (I forget why) and never picked it back up. People have said to me over the years that the books get so bad after like 3 or 4 and I should just skip until book 8 or 9. Nothing happens, the character suck etc. I’m about 500 pages into FoH and I do not get it. SO much happens in the first 500 pages, I would argue as much or more than in the first few books. Are the people saying this just short of attention span or something? Do they want non stop fighting or something? I don’t get it. I feel like in the first few books so little happens until the end, and yet the fight between Rand and the Shadow Hounds happens so early and it’s an excellent bit of excitement! I’m learning more about characters, history of the world, seeing more interactions with the Foresaken and the black aja. Sure, the Gareth Bryne stuff is slow, but this is a book? It’s building towards major plot points, and telling a story. Jordan does an amazing job of world building, and I’m in no way bored.

Am I an outlier? Do most people really think nothing happens? I’m so confused. Have they ever read a book before?
