Can anyone explain why everyone is so upset about Sony removing physical discs when these same people buy games on Steam/Epic/App Store/play store all the time?

You don’t own these games, yet there isn’t some big kerfuffle about it, yet when Sony does it it’s a huge issue? Why?

You don’t own your music on itunes or Spotify. You dont own the movies you buy on Amazon Prime.

Im not saying it’s right but if this is such a big issue why is everyone upset NOW about it as opposed for the last 10 years?

How do restaurants serve multiple dishes in a day with avocado in them and I can barely find a ripe avocado at the grocery store?

I goto the grocery store. Every avocado is either too hard or too ripe. When I buy them, they take 1-X number of days to get to a good consistency, and often go bad before I even get to use them.

How do restaurants serve 10's to hundreds of people in a day with dishes that have avocado in them and the avocados are green and ripe and delicious?

Do NOT buy Revo walking pad from Revomadic

I bought this pad like 2 years ago, only to find after like 3 months that the device was shedding the belt material all over my floor. I wrote support - this was around when tarifs were enacted - and they said they didn't have any in stock, but they would be back in stock in a month for a replacement. A month later, same thing, they weren't in stock, but would be soon. They said they'd reach out. Life got away from me, then I moved, and I reached out again. This is the crazy thing - the guy gave me almost the exact same response after a YEAR. The pad was out of stock, but it would be bad in stock in a month. I asked again, and got a generic response from him.

I honestly don't even know if the support team is real, or what the situation is, but I've never received support like this. I guess this is what I get for ordering from a company that makes walking pads... and collagen? And a cupping therapy device?

Should I get E12 or G16 bulbs for this lamp?

https://www.westelm.com/products/staggered-glass-floor-lamp-5-light-h4046/ bought this lamp and I need 5 bulbs. It says G16 but I see elsewhere someone used E12. I want to illuminate my living/dining area and I’m a complete lighting newb. I have no idea what to order. I have limited light so I want something flexible that I can adjust for just general use or reading on the couch. even in the E12 I see multiple options between full color and not full color.

Really bummed my sleep buds have so many issues now

I backed the sleep buds on kickstarter and ive really loved them. but they’ve become almost unusable.

  1. the right sleep bud dies much earlier than the left now and often wakes me up with the noise when it disconnects in the middle of the night.

  2. charging seems to be inconsistent. I charged them and the case yesterday and last night the buds died 5 minutes after I put them in.

  3. I can’t seem to update the firmware now. when I try it gets to 1% and throws an error about “peer failed to respond to ATT value indication“.

  4. minor thing but the case light showing it’s charging no longer works it seems

am I just SOL? Do I need to drop hundreds on brand new ones?

ELI5: Why does scrubbing food stuck to a plate with a brush often not remove bits, but if you barely touch those bits with your finger after it comes right off?

Apologies if this isn't appropriate for ELI5, but I'm so confused by this. I wash my dishes with a bamboo brush with dish soap on it. I often scrub things like plates, or pots, etc with the brush, and it will get things off but sometimes it will leave little bits. I'll try again, and they're still there. Then I barely touch it with my finger, and it comes right off.

How do I upload documents proving my identity on myedd?

I got a notice that my claim was rejected. I got a letter in the mail AFTER the 10 days had transpired telling me that I need to prove my identity and upload documents even though I've been getting payments for 2 months now. The letter says to go to UI Online and click the UPload Documents link on the homepage, but that link does not exist, nor can I find anywhere on the website that lets me upload documents. Can someone please help me and point me in the right direction?

Has anyone ordered from mooijane.com? Any recommendations for other places for floor lamps?

I just moved into a place and the lighting is abysmal. My friend recommended I layer lights instead of getting an overhead. I want to get a floor lamp that will illuminate my living room area (I live in a loft and the main room is a long room with like 20 ft ceilings). I got a corner LED from Ozarke and I want to get a floor lamp that will illuminate the area around my couch/coffee table.

Their products seem beautiful, but I want to make sure I'm not getting a crappy product. I cant' find anything anywhere about them.

Has anyone heard of hypochlorous acid for cleaning your mouth?

I had someone recommend I use hypochlorous acid mouthwash. He said it's completely healed his bleeding gums and has been a miracle.

I found this - https://shopbriotech.com/products/oral-swish?variant=32542071160906 but I'm not sure if it's reputable. People seem to suggest hypochlorous acid is a miracle for cleaning their homes and for their skin, but I'm curious about for the mouth.

Am I playing the game wrong?

I overall am struggling with this game in a few ways. I feel like whenever I get to the story battles, they are so hard it takes me like 6+ tries to beat them. I'm not sure what the core loop is, but having played games for decades, it seems odd that the game wants you to just grind mindless battles that aren't part of the story arch in order to be able to actually play the main game, especially with how the game is designed. Am i supposed to just fight in the side areas over and over before taking on the main ones?

I'm early in the game and dealing with the Marquis stuff. I'm at one battle that I forget the name of that takes place in a small area where you position 2 units each in 2 groups and there's like 7 enemies inside this building. Even though my guys are equal or greater level with the best equipment I can buy, the enemies _rail_ me. Like level 3 guy who's a level 1 monk does like 40 damage in one hit. That seems completely unbalanced to me?

Also, the NPC's are utterly useless to me, I do not get it. In every single battle, Delita stands around in his defensive pose doing nothing. He literally doesn't fight, and just runs and stands in a corner and I have no control over it. Meanwhile, Argath runs in and loses half his health in one hit and provides zero value to the fight. I have no way to level them or make them stronger right? Nor can I control their actions. So I'm evenly matched in numbers, yet I have 2 completely clueless AI bots that provide no value at all.

I've played many FF games, I understand the mechanics of the game itself, but I find the actual gameplay to be punishing in an odd way that doesn't feel challenging, but I feel like I'm missing something since I know this is one of the most beloved games.

One last thing, I'm confused about recruitment. If I lose units in the battle, I then have to go recruit people and I recruit a bunch of level 1 characters. I then have to spend a ton of time grinding them up so they're equivalent level? That seems crazy as well, no? Like if I level up someone to 3 or 4 at this point in the game with equivalent JP and they die, I then have to spend 30 minutes or something getting them back to where they were?

Does anyone else live in a big apartment building? Why is everyone so antisocial and rude?

I moved into a new apartment building recently and I’m floored how everyone is so antisocial and almost avoidant of connecting. Like we’re all neighbors, we all see eachother in the halls, but I walk around trying to make eye contact and smile and say hi and everyone else walks around and avoids eye contact and doesn’t seem to want to talk to anyone. I literally saw the person who lives next door to me the other day, and she walked past me as I was leaving my door, didn’t look at me or say hi, and just went into her place and closed the door. I‘ll walk through the halls and encounter people or while I’m leaving the building, no one will even say hi and if I say hello they are like shocked out of some zombie trance and they mutter ”oh hi” before scurrying away

Is this society now? Everyone just walking around with their headphones on not making eye contact and being hostile to everyone even if you live next door to them?

Just moved into a new apartment, the HVAC never shuts off

I have a LG PQRCHCA0QW thermostat, and my HVAC never shuts off. I have the fan and the system set to auto, and there is noise coming from the vent 24/7. Is this normal? I would assume that it would be on when it's heating or cooling, and otherwise be off. Am I wrong? Is there something wrong with the system and should I alert the HVAC company?

Does destroying Americas image around the world make America great?

https://archive.is/Moq5j link for reference. I grew up being told America is the greatest country in the world, and the reason that narrative existed is because people believed it all over the world. If I think I'm really cool, and no one else thinks I'm cool, I'm not cool, right? So how does alienating the entire world and destroying the tourism industry help with our stature in the world? People coming to America, spending money here, imbibing American values, thinking positively about Americans and our country, seem like positive things, right?

Why cant they seem to make movies like the 80s and 90s anymore?

So I want to caveat this with the fact that I grew up with these movies so maybe it’s a nostalgia thing, but I was watching Sneakers the other day on Tv and I was marveling at how good that movie is without it being some big budget feature. Amazing cast, great story, funny, great pacing, just so so well executed. I got to thinking, in the 80s and 90s there were so many great mid budget films that didn’t have crazy production values or budgets, but were great movies. The list of movies I can think of that represent what I’m talking about - Princess Bride, Batteries Not Included, Big, When Harry Met Sally, Ferris Buellers Day Off. I could go on and on and on. All these movies are amazing, hold up over the decades, and aren’t some big budget spectacle or an Oscar contender. j

I feel like movies these days just aren’t the same. I find myself finding maybe 5 to at most 10 movies a year enjoyable, and of those they are the standout dramas - like a Hamnet from last year - or some big budget movie - like an Odyssey this year. Most of the rest of the stuff that comes out is crap, barring a few standout horror movies in recent years.

So my question is, why? I really have reflected a lot and I don’t think it’s a nostalgia thing. Sneakers, for example, kept my attention the whole movie. I didn’t feel like looking at my phone or doing something else. i rewatched Dead Poets Society the other day - same thing. Same with Mrs Doubtfire.

So yeah, why were there so many more movies in those decades that were just objectively great movies, compared to today?

How do we make people care about morals and ethics again?

One of the things I appreciate about this sub is that the majority of people on here seem to be reasonable and thoughtful humans. Id love to hear what you think about the topic of this post. As someone who leans more moderate and doesn’t like assigning myself to the left or right, I believe the greatest problem our society faces is a complete lack of morals or ethics anymore. The only way a society functions is through institutions, and the only way institutions function is through a strong code of morals and ethics. The only reason you goto your doctor is because you trust he or she wont kill you or make you sicker. The only reason you use a dollar is because you trust it will buy what you expect.

For years now, society - in particular American society - has abandoned morals and ethics, which is the sole reason Trump was able to be elected… twice. I don’t believe America will ever be great again until we start instituting morals and ethics into our society. So how do we do this, or where am I wrong?

Normalize blocking people who use onramps and breakdown lanes as their private lane

I’m so sick of people who think they have some special private lane they get to use to bypass traffic. Like SO sick. I was on the Kennedy today and traffic was bumper to bumper at the merge and I saw people start to use the on ramp to try to get around 7 or 8 cars in front of them and save 10 seconds while being hazards on the road. I did what we all SHOULD be doing and I pulled into the lane to block the next person. They were throwing up their hands and honking, and guess what - 10 seconds later they merged back in and shut up.

This is a civilized society last I checked, and this is not civilized behavior. The city doesn’t care to enforce the laws, so it’s on us to do so. I encourage everyone to start doing this, highlight of my day.
