crazy iitians building a crazy startup, need a crazy editor

As the title says.

Need an editor who wants to transform their skills into building something real.

We have a solid team of IItians who will be working on the startup tech,

Currently the team can handle tech and everything but not editing 🥀 and editing for us is extremely important coz we will be focusing a lot on social media marketing.

(we have no money to offer you, most of us are in college trying to build on this brilliant idea we have, what you will get is the opportunity to build something real and something very ambitious) If you got that kinda hunger then dm.

Will explain every doubt about the startup in dm.

looking for a doomscroller with editing skills who can handle socials for our startup

intro - we are a team of mostly IItians working on a startup idea, we are pretty confident about it but a big piece in the entire scheme of things is cracking social media engagement (zomato/cluely type marketing) since a huge chunk of our users will prolly be the youth.

If you are a genz doomscroller who also happens to have a knack in editing/marketing AND you wanna be a founding member of a startup then dm me.

and im gonna be upfront theres no pay in this, we are literally college students trying to build something out of nothing, but we have a very solid avengers like team of people who wanna make it big in the business world and the last spiderman/woman of that team we are looking for is someone who can crack social media for us eventually.

i'll be happy to explain what the startup is about in dms'.

starting a venture. Anybody who has enough hunger and hustle dm.

edit - already have 3 people, if youre someone who has handled or can handle social media marketing then its a bonus, the target of this is young people)

dont want random wannabe's i want people who will grind hard with the team. (i have 2 people so far, looking for one more).

also have plans for nirmaan later on.

Idea - The end product will be somewhat of an online community of everyone and anyone interested in building a startup/already having built a startup/people looking to be a part of a startup. Basically the entire indian startup ecosystem on one platform, the platform can have numerous features like paid/free consulting, mocks for YC etc etc. as well The goal is to turn into sort of a "github styled" community but for startups, and then theres no end to what features or products you can incorporate into it later on

Rn theres a few companies doing this in India but either they do only hiring, only bootcamps, only investing etc. a potential founder has to go to ten different places if they wanna do shit, also almost all of these companies have shit social media presence, no one is targetting the youth who is literally the main consumer

Story time + How do i proceed?

Context -

I'll write this entire thing like a story and i want u ladies to shower me with your opinions/advices at the end.

im 19M, theres this girl( lets call her minnie) whom i have known from my childhood like when i was 5 years old, she was my neighbour and we were lowkey kinda enemies, we hated each other for some reason and always fought, she was my neighbour till about when i was 12-13 then she moved out.

"Old times" -

Cut to 5 years later (2024) - I was 17 and i've had one terrible "relationship" or whatever tf that was till then, when i was 17 my family also shifted to a new society and guess what, this society was the same society where that girl lives. So initially when i shifted I had zero intentions of meeting her or talking with her coz firstly in my mind i still imagined her to be that same weird oversmart girl who hated me when we were little, secondly i just never thought we would really cross paths

"Pulled together"-

So even though that girl and I hated each other, our mothers were Friends and after my family shifted to the same society as theirs it was like old friends united so the next thing they immediately did was plan a family tour to another state with both our families, when i heard about these plans i said no straight away because I had some other work around that time and so everyone was going except me but the universe did not want that for some reason and literally 1 week before leaving for the journey my other work got cancelled and hence i got roped in for the journey as well.

(The journey takes place in 2025)

"Once again"

I was really concious and thoughtful about how i would talk to Minnie over the course of the journey because i realised that it might be possible that she too might have that same old image of me in her head, if that were the case i wanted to be nice and come across as a good person despite our history of hate towards each other.

The first time i saw her and talked to her after almost 6 years later was when i was sent by her mother to go to her room and tell her to hurry up as we were going to leave - i had rung the hotel room's bell and she had opened the room, and i just said "hurry up, we are leaving" - thats it. It was sort of awkward seeing each other all grown up and stuff but now that i think about it, it feels nice.

Over the course of the next 15 days of the tour, we slowly connected, by each day we got more and more comfortable, talked about how dumb we were to hate each other for little reasons, neither of us like to walk much so we would sit by the beach when the family shopped, or sit at the hotel lounge and just talk. The tour ended with us connected again, and i still remember that she had given me her number and the first message i had sent her was literally 10 seconds after returning home.

"Now what?"

After the tour we started talking, chatting and the usual "talking stage". Few months of talking hints started drooping from her side like holding my hand on an amusement park ride, being disappointed if i gave her a late reply etc etc. At one point, in the month of November - she suddenly texted me "I need to tell you something, but i dont really know how to say it", when i asked what she replied hours later "i dont know, i've tried playing the scenario in my head of telling you but its tough", that was when i had got a sniff of whats about to come, i expected something to be said from her side soon.

"Lets see"

My expectations failed as she never picked that convo again, or never really explained what she wanted to say, we never got back to that convo again.

My standpoint at that time in all of this was that i definitely enjoyed spending time with her, but i wasnt ready to go into a full fledged committed relationship yet, multiple things in my life were going on + i was just not sure, im a typa person who takes commitment very seriously and so i would rather take a ton of time before deciding anything than changing langes midway, hence when i saw her not initiating that convo again i too decided to go with the flow.

"Eyes talk"

Cut to today - from November 2025 to currently, we have gone out numerous times, despite both of our busy schedules, we flirt with each other sometimes, her behaviour is still absolutely same like 2025 in terms of "wanting to talk to me" , like if not anything we would still just talk about random bs at the end of the day, we give each other pretty much every tea that happens in our lives AND she sometimes asks questions like "am i still in touch with my ex" or she gets curious if im interacting with any other female like not in a bad way but she gets curious. I remember this one time we had gone out she wrapped her arm around my arm like how women do with their partners, Also atp our eyes just do the talking.

This is lowkey like a haters to lovers story if you think about it which i too realized recently lol.

NOW - Heres what i want advice for, DO I ACTUALLY SAY THE WORDS AND BREAK THE ICE? Or do i just go with the flow? rn we are in this dreamy kinda state where we both kinda know whats going on but we are just enjoying and not saying it.

I wanted to initially ask my friends for advice but i didn't wanna risk buri nazar or something.

Opinions and advice pilijjjj 🥀

Got 2 startup ideas but no team/like minded people

I have two startup ideas. Both are pretty unique i suppose but i have no team.

Im looking for like minded people who wanna hustle and actually build something but i dont know how to find such like minded people 🥀

The ideas pitch

  1. A platform where anybody can buy/sell any book at prices as low as 70% off of 80% off.

Reasoning - in pretty much every city there are tiny "book hubs" who deal with first hand or second hand books, their prices are always 30-40% cheaper than online, and for second hand books finding a 1000 rs book at 300rs is more than common. Rn this "tiny book" hub market is unorganised and not digitalized. There are some companies like elocalshop who do a similar thing but competition is very less.

  1. An everything at one place platform for startup people. A platform for just startup owners/ startup hirers/ investor's/ people looking to build a startup/ people looking for ideas. Rn if u wanna start a startup then you visit ten different places and websites, there should be one ecosystem for everything.

Online Degrees and the Youth

We have already been seeing this trend globally and in recent years it has shot up in India as well. Over the last two decades Online degrees have grown by around 900% globally. In india itself from 2021 - 2022 online degree enrollments increased by 170% in A SINGLE YEAR, meanwhile universities giving out recognised online graduation programs increased from 69-191 of which numerous institutes of national importance like IIT's and NIT's were also involved. In India the major flag bearer of this trend was IIT Madras who started their online BS in Data science program in 2020.

On campus programs still dominate in India and in most other countries without a doubt but the interesting thing is the growth rate of Online education is much more than Offline enrollments both in India and globally, hence we can say that in the coming decade or so Online education will be the "new normal", you'd see every student doing atleast one Online degree, Every Professor teaching in atleast one Online grad program, and specifically in fields like AI, ML, Data science, Analytics i.e in fields which can be taught entirely online with minimal face to face interaction, online education will take over with even people doing only an online degree. People would value an online degree from a reputed uni much more than an offline program from some mediocre college which would be game over for thousands of tier infinity worthless private colleges teaching absolute bullshit. Moreover, in India, as Online education eradicates the gap of education access almost entirely, companies and employers would stop caring about "which college are you from?" And start caring more about "how good are you at what you do?" meaning that the slight leverage IIT or top uni grads to this date get in job placements and opportunities just based on the fact that they are a part of that ecosystem would cease to exist, any kind of opportunity would have to be fought for with thousands of other equally skilled or better candidates, thereby increasing competition in certain job markets but also improving overall quality of work in the world, resulting in new innovations, faster development and a boon for humanity in the longer run.

In a country like India this entire development is a double edged sword. Since forever our mindsets, our habits, our culture has prepared us to work hard but not to work smart, to this date most young people depend on their family, friends for opinions instead of taking their own decisions, to this date most of the youth is unaware of the sheer pace at which the world is progressing despite the availability of free wifi at their hands and to this date most of the youth has to be spoonfed everything. In such a country on one hand we would have people properly utilizing the advancements and getting ahead in their careers like the rest of the world, but unfortunately a major part of the youth would realize it too late that the world had changed way before.

IIT Madras Director Responds to Claims That the BS Degree Is Diluting the IIT Brand

IIT Madras Director Prof. V. Kamakoti interacted with BS students during the Paradox event and addressed the criticism often seen online regarding the IITM BS degree allegedly “diluting” the IIT brand.
As he put it, the philosophy of the program is simple: (entry is easy, exit is hell of difficult).
