This film made in 1973 depicted a world in 2022 where the world was "overpopulated" (the movie said there where 7 billion people in the world) and polluted to the point we only rely on corporations for food and the ultra wealthy are the only ones who can afford real food. Some woman sell themselves as furniture for the rich as well. Everyone eats processed cheap bland food until soy lent green comes along and guess what the big reveal its made out of dead people. I was actually scared when I first saw this movie I will be honest.

Well in 2022 there where 8 billion people so even more than would cause this "catastrophe" and new York city had 40 million people well guess what no city had that much even. You can still grow food, life exists in the oceans and there are no food riots.

Whats funny is how little doomer predictions have changed always projecting it further and further. T Doomers might be the least creative people in the world its all about the rich prospering as we suffer and be controlled in some way or another. Another thing that amuses me how the movie soylent green is also a murder mystery of one of the rich executives in the soy lent cooperation threatening to reveal that the product is made of people. Nowadays they just think anyone with wealth has no morals or desire to do good at all.

This movie along with all doomer rhetoric is plain goofy can't wait for the dystopia of 2050 we have all been promised.

Well I know some people don't have friends so they travel solo or just want time away but I want none of those. I would love to be with my friends and family but no one is interested or feels scared to go to the same destinations as me. When I was 18 after my A-levels some of my friends went to Tenerife but I choose to go with a lot of money I had saved to the Kokoda trek in Papua New Guinea. I have been to Bolivia, Suriname, Gabon and Sumatra. I asked people every time if they want to come but they all said no. I guess it seemed to far away and not much tourist infrastructure. But even to places in Turkey such as Artvin and Sakarya no one wanted to join me of my friends only my family that live there. I was wondering if anyone had this reason that their locations they choose for travel is what made them go solo?

I have asked for recommendations recently but after sifting through them it helped me understand what I wanted more. Some that fit the bill where:

Any recommendations are greatly appreciated though if you recommend an artist can you give me a starting song, same goes with albums.

I know I'm not insane and they do exist. Some examples are: Here comes the snake by the cherry poppin daddies, evil night together by jill tracy, minnie the moocher by cab calloway and I put a spell on you by Nina Simone. I suppose what I am looking for is quite theatrical and seems to lean a bit into blues. Any recommendations are much appreciated.

Well it might seem a bit petty but my mum is always on my case about my hair the only pert of me that doesn't conform. She says my hair is so awful I look homeless, once said I look disabled because I just woke up and my hair was messy she said I look like someone who is incapable of taking care of themselves and today she said I looked like a creepy serial killer. She says just push your hair back and you will look normal for once and be handsome and get girls. I told her I don't like it that way and she says all she can do is try too help me. It seemed nice but it seemed a bit manipulative when she said all I want to do is help you but you choose to get annoyed about it an insist on looking awful. She said I look so awful it makes her sad because apparently when I was a toddler she would do my hair and I would look so handsome and cute.

This made me upset to be called these things and I agree I do look awful so when I go to cut it she says ohh don't do it that way you'll look so outdated, you'll look like a girl, you'll look weird and people will mock you for it if you cut it that way. Then she says I neglect myself which I don't its just I have messy hair whenever I sleep and some days if I am not going out I just leave it. She says I;ll never find a girlfriend looking like this but she can help me if I listen to her. I tell her to please leave me alone and she says she just wants to help there is no reason for me to get annoyed about it. I ask her why she says I look like a serial killer or disabled and she says my hair is so awful thats the nicest way to put it.

I would like the chance to wear what I want as well but I don't even bother since its always the same "you look awful, people will mock you do what I say and you'll look handsome". I can't stand it. I once shaved all my body hair and she was saying I am going to get laughed at by others. You know its always these imaginary others she projects onto but it is her who is putting me down.

Well spoilers for this masterpiece of a movie. At the end of the movie when John Doe takes Mills and Somerset out into the barren rural area a severed head is posted to them addressed to Mills. But it is somerset who goes after the package. Inside though we never see it is a severed head of mills wife Tracy. John Doe eggs on Mills saying how he killed his pregnant wife out of envy making him the sin of envy so in a rage Mills will kill him in wrath. But we never see the head. But at the crime scene of the lawyer Eli Goud we see a picture of his wife Mrs Goud who has her eyes circled in blood in an infinity loop.

The infinity loop is significant for she is the catalyst to finish his project and it circles the eyes the most defining part of a persons face. If John Doe gauged out this woman's eye she does look like Tracy to some degree but won't be immediately recognisable like this. Somerset never says he thinks it is Tracy in the box but he knows if Mills sees it in his emotional state he will believe it is her especially after John Doe was egging him on saying he killed her. But why would John Doe do this? He has a moral code outside of the seven he would not kill anybody so my theory has a bit of a jump but I believe Mrs Goud took her own life as we saw the sheer amount of distress she was in once her husband had been killed. So John Doe took her body severed her head and removed the eyes and sent it.

So now Mills has killed John Doe and there is no way to incarcerate him now it is over. John Doe's lawyer will protect him and Tracy will be alive and there is no way to connect the murders to John Doe. So now Mills is guilty of killing an unarmed man who was in custody. This could lead to Mills being behind bars the rest of his life where is will probably take his own life from the sheer pain of not being able to see his wife and she will abort the child without him. Or possibly I don't know how it works in America but he could be put on death row and be executed. This would be the final piece in John Doe's magnum opus. It seemed bizarre if Mills was wrath that he would be left to live by John is he didn't have a plan. Because John never kills directly he is not a murderer. He orchestrates events leading to peoples deaths throughout the movie but never commits them it seems off that he would just kill Tracy. John is smarter than that and he planned this all along. Mills was always going to be his victim for wrath and he probably stalked him to find out about the appearance of his wife and that she was pregnant. Let me know if you think this theory is plausible I think it makes the already bleak ending of the movie even worse.

Some say its monotonous, some say It sounds too deep and it is jarring since I look like a girl. But since I like talking alot, I was wondering whether it sounds awful and I was subjugating people to listening to something abhorrent.

I have been chasing nightmares recently but no horror movie has done it for me so far sadly. It then hit me when I was reading chamber of secrets to my sister the other day that damn reading things is much more terrifying than any movie could be. The spider scene in the movie was pretty underwhelming and goofy but the book made it actually scary to some degree. If this is a children's book and it had me this shook what about an actual horror book since movies just don't scare me anymore. I also realised with BOB from twin peaks I read about him before I watched the show and I had nightmares about him once I watched the show he was still utterly creepy but didn't cause nightmares. So I am asking for books that would cause nightmares preferably one with a sense of mystery to it and a mix of both psychological and immediate threats. Thank you.

Just look at Canada, Australia and New Zealand. I think this has to do with eradicating native population. But what about countries like Nigeria, South Africa and Ghana while they have issues compared to much of the continent they have much better quality of lives there. And Malaysia, Hong Kong and Singapore all once British colonies now have some of the best qualities of life in Asia. Is it all a coincidence since many ex British colonies are awful places to live today as well but compared to other empires ex colonies Britain seems to have left behind places with better quality of life than the rest.
