I had never made the connection that the term general store was like grocery store or auto parts store but just the general store. I never really thought about it but now every time I think of general store and that someone actually came up with the term “general” store because they just sell “general stuff” is really funny to me. Like what kind of store is that? Just a “general” store.

Okay hear me out, 9 times out of 10 the movie version of the book is not a bad movie. When ever there is a movie coming out based on a book so many people go and read the book, assuming you haven’t already read it, then they go and watch the movie. This always ruins the movie because you get all these built up expectations for the movie and they end up leaving stuff of the movie and the plot of the movie is ruined. Movies aren’t just the visual option for the book. They are a completely different version of media. However if you watch the movie first it makes the book so much better because the book becomes the expanded universe of the movie where they give more detail and build on the movie you just watched. Every time I have watched the movie first and read book second I get these moments of joy when things start to make so much more sense. Every time I have read the book first the movie is always bad because I know that things are missing and I am wanting a visual version of the book, not a movie. The movie was not bad, the book just gave you bad expectations.

Okay so I understand why having some kind of response to something like a rash or bug bite is required but why can’t this be a mild pain instead of an itch that makes us want to scratch. When ever you have a bug bite or rash the worse thing you can do is scratch it, the proper medical advice is always not to scratch. For something like the response to a bug crawling on you I can understand but when the best thing you can do is not to scratch, why was the answer to make that thing itch?

I apologize if this has been asked before. Does anyone make exceptions for items, not necessary food,that is 100% bound for a landfill?

Hi everyone, we are in Hawaii this week. When I travel I try not to get any souvenirs but if I do I try to get one thoughtful one. What is the one souvenir from Hawaii you would recommend. Can be $1 up to $100. For example I did buy one of those clip on flowers for my hat, I thought that would be a great way to have a souvenir that I can actually use.

What do you recommend as an all in one everything you need to know guide for going vegan? I’m not talking about 500 page extended universe guide, but like the everything you need to know quick guide version

I’m looking for those things where you eventually realize you’ve been paying the “normal retail” price when there’s a much cheaper way to buy essentially the same thing.
For example, did you know Mr. Clean Magic Erasers are basically melamine foam, and you can buy generic melamine foam cleaning sponges in bulk for a fraction of the price?
What are your best “did you know you can buy this like THAT?” discoveries?
Could be:
Something you can buy in bulk
A generic/private label version of a branded product
The raw material/form of a product instead of the consumer branded version
Something sold for another purpose that works just as well
Something you can buy directly from a manufacturer or wholesale supplier

First off, let me just say I’m a huge fan. Nothing but love for everyone at Smosh, this is not a critique, I’m genuinely very curious.
That said I have a question that has been making my brain itchy for some time now.
I often hear them talk about “shoot days” and I’m pretty sure I’ve also heard “shoot weeks” From things they’ve said on the shows it sounds like they might be filming for something like 8 to 12 hours on a shoot day? And from context, it seems like a lot of the individual episodes take maybe 90 minutes to 2 hours to film.
Which leads me to my completely unscientific investigation
If they’re filming for, say, 8–12 hours, and an episode takes roughly 1 and a half to 2 hours, couldn’t they theoretically film like 4+ videos in a day? And potentially 20-ish videos in a five day shoot week?
They release roughly one video a day.
Am I completely misunderstanding what their shoot days actually look like? Am I wildly overestimating how quickly they can film an episode? Are there production stuff that I’m not accounting for?
Or do they actually film a bunch of videos over a few days and then have long stretches where they aren’t filming?
Because if they’re sitting on a mountain of unreleased Smosh videos somewhere, I need to know about this secret vault.
Basically, I realize I have apparently spent way too much time thinking about the logistics of how Smosh makes videos and if someone could explain production schedule to me so my brain can finally go back to thinking about normal things when watching Smosh.

I’m curious how much success people have had with growing tomatoes during the winter months, specifically Southern California.

There is an audio book that my library does not have, when I look it up on Audible it says “Only from Audible”. Does this mean this title is only going to be available on Audible? The book is available at the library, it’s just the audio book that I can not find.

We currently use a retractable leash but we are probably going to switch to a traditional leash. Maybe a nice classic leather one?

Just curious on brands and what flavors

Hi everyone does anyone have any recommendations for something to sprinkle over food to help with the flavor. I do not have any problem making food that keeps me in a calorie deficit but the meals can be kind of boring. I have been sprinkling everything bagel mix over my food here and there but having multiple flavors to choose from would be nice. For example today I made a tofu stir fry for lunch over some white rice. Other things I usually make is shredded chicken over vegetables. Something simple to sprinkle over the food would be great. Thanks!

When have you been going through every day life and stumble upon a problem that was solved with one of your hobbies

Hi everyone, we just started Apoquel this week and had some diarrhea as a side effect. Has anyone noticed that the side effect does not happen after a while or does the diarrhea stay? We have a follow up appointment with the veterinary later today but wanted to ask what other people have noticed.
