TL;DR: I am glad I stuck it out with medication and my Drs. Anyone worried about them or who had issues. Work with your dr to find dosage and medicines that work with you.

I was prescribed 20mg of crestor end of may of this year. Took one and did developed brain fog and fatigue. I read a bunch of stuff online about how bad statins are for you and all this. But I didnt want to leave it to chance and people that are not trained professionals. So I talked to my dr and she prescribed 5mg of crestor and recommended a calcium scan. Middle of June I get my results and its a 152. I am 38 yr old, male. I started taking 5mg of crestor, no issues. Google scared me into seeking a cardiologist. Saw my cardiologist last week. Due to my 192 LDL and family history of heart disease (dad first bypass at 41) he wanted to up my dose to 40mg. I told him about the 20mg side effects and asked about bumping to 10mg of crestor and adding zetia. He was fine with this, said to double up on my 5mg for a week before starting to see if I had side effects. No issues with the 10mg crestor. Today will be a week since I started 10mg. I completed a stress test, walking with an EKG and periodically checking blood pressure. I did 13 mins before hitting a 150 and the dr asked if I could do an extra minute getting up to 160 BPM, blood pressure at peak was 160 over 75. Ekg looked good and vitals returned to normal quickly during cool down. Im about 2 hours into my first dose of Zetia with 10mg of crestor and I feel normal and fine. Blood work Saturday just to see if all is well there and see where my Cholesterol is again. Echocardiogram on the 14th. Fingers crossed things keep going well.

I am 38M with a LDL of 192. My Dr prescribed me Rosuvastatin 20mg. Due to high LDL and family history of heart disease. I took my first dose 30mins ago. After reading everything suggest I should have follow up blood work in the next 4 to 12 weeks. My Dr only prescribed a lab request for a cardiac calcum CT. But no blood work. Should I reach out to my Dr and ask if I should get a lab order for blood work for my next visit in 3 months? Im kind of paranoid about the thought of being on this medication for life as is and have had an acute liver issue in the past that always makes me worried about my liver health.
