Please critique my column article?

Soooo, malapit na po kasi yung Division Schools Press Conference namin and need ko po ng help and advice. This September na po and I've been training po to hone my skills in writing. So I'm asking po if anyone can critique my article po. I'm a column writer po and my topic is about the abuse of the term "resiliency"

Also, I would like advice din po

How can I write in such a bold and articulate manner!

How can I widen my vocabulary?

How can I gather information and news po, and where can I get such po?

Thank you po!

Footage of "Hair" ending with audience members dancing with cast?

Sooo, I'm just starting to get into Hair and I found a bootleg recording of it from the 2009 revival. I dove in deeper and read that during Let the Sunshine In, the cast would pull out audience members and dance with them on stage. But, when I skipped to the end of that bootleg recording, there wasn't such a scene. Idk why but it's bugging me and I need to see footage of it live on the theatre. Can anyone help me? Thanks

Public schools aren't really free

On paper, "free" Yung education na provider ng public schools. In reality, hindi talaga. Sobrang daming ambagan na in theory, should already be provided by the DepEd itself. Teachers and parents alike pay out of pocket for classroom renovations, etc...

Isa pang problema na na-notice ko is that despite the large budget allocated to the DepEd, sobrang daming paaralan pa rin ang inadequate ang kagamitan and infrastructure, particularly those schools that are far-flung.

There's no doubt in every bone of my body na malaki ang kurapsyon dyan sa DepEd. I just know it.

Ano yung most memorable moments mo during contests?

Hi y'all! I'm just curious, ano yung pinaka memorable moments niyo during your travels?

Para sa akin, it's always food hahahahaha. I've been in many contests before, pero journalism talaga yung passion ko. Anyways, every time pupunta na kami sa venue ng contest namin, always naming pupuntahan para gumala is yung 7-Eleven. For me, 7-Eleven has always been my buddy every time may contest. Diyan talaga yung puntahan namin every time tapos na yung contests hahahahaha.

Also, yung free food. I've experienced that three times already kasi chamba rin na kapag may contest kami, may birthday always.

How about y'all?

Pero why is it uncommon dito sa Pilipinas? Why aren't English musicals like Rent, Next to Normal—all of which have had Philippine stagings—translated into Filipino?

Old pictures of Philippine cities?

Hi. So, I love watching old photos of cities across the globe. I'm curious about Philippine cities? All I've seen are the daguerreotypes of Manila and its surrounding areas, as well as old photos of Cebu, Baguio, and Vigan. I'm curious about other cities, though. I really want to take a look at old photos of the following cities' cityscapes back then during the colonial era: Legazpi City, Naga City, Tacloban City, Puerto Princesa, Cagayan de Oro, Butuan City, Davao City, and Dapitan City. If anyone knows a collection of photos, I'd be happy to know them!

A Mindanoan Gen Z's Insight to the Current State of Political State of the Philippines

A MINDANAOAN GEN Z'S INSIGHT TO THE CURRENT STATE OF POLITICAL STATE OF THE PHILIPPINES

I'll keep it short and simple lang.

Marami sa kanila, willing to vote for Leni (provided na tatakbo sya).

Which leads me to my final point: The Leni Weak Point

Absolutely failed my maths quiz earlier

Looooool nakakahiya chares. Anyways, nag quiz kami sa GenMath kanina. The topic was very easy. Arithmetic sequence lang. a²=a sub 1 + (n-1) d. I know that it was easy kasi nakasagot pa ako during the time na nag di-discuss yung teacher. Come 1PM (dalawang period ang GenMath namin for Mondays kasi walang sched sa Friday). I'm so disappointed kasi: 1.) The topic is easy; and 2.) I'm literally an honor student. With high pa nga. Tapos ganyan lang???? My gosh. Although, 37/40 naman ako last quiz namin. Still, I'm so disappointed kasi I know in myself na alam ko talaga yun. Hayyyssttt.

The banal reality of living through every day while the world's on the verge of breaking down.

Everyday, i try to live my student life normally against the constant noise of instability. Politics, blind devotion to corrupt officials, self-serving senators. Not to mention the wars currently happening worldwide, and China's aggression in the West Philippine Sea and all the shit they've been doing. Oh, and did i mention inflation and economic downturns? Constant push for militarization in the youth? It feels like the future holds nothing but a thick smoke of despair and bleakness. And what about regionalism? Filipinos being divided culturally, regionally, and ideologically?

I may sound like a doomerist, someone who sees no hope in the future. I do believe that there's a spark of light in places we see dim. Honestly, i only want to set my thoughts loose as to give my heart reprieve, even for a single minute.

How i wish the world's not living beside a cliffside.

National Higher Education Press Conference to launch next year

COLLEGE JOURNALISTS GO NATIONAL 📰✍🏼

A national press conference for college campus journalists is set to begin in 2027.

The National Higher Education Press Conference, or NHEPC, is being introduced as a national-level gathering for campus journalists and publication advisers from higher education institutions across the country.

It comes after the Luzonwide Higher Education Press Conference, or LHEPC, announced its transition into a national event, opening participation beyond Luzon to include delegates from the Visayas and Mindanao.

For years, many student journalists have known the National Schools Press Conference as the biggest stage for elementary and high school campus journalism.

Now, college campus journalists are also set to have their own national platform.

The first NHEPC is scheduled to take place in Vigan City, Ilocos Sur, from March 10 to 12, 2027.

For student publications in colleges and universities, this is more than another competition. It is a recognition that campus journalism does not end after high school.

It continues in newsrooms run by students who write under pressure, edit after class, cover campus issues, question policies, document communities, and defend the truth while carrying academic workloads.

With NHEPC, the voices of college campus journalists are moving onto a bigger national stage.

Next to Normal — one of the best musicals I've watched

First time namin to tingnan earlier and wow, it was soooo goooood. Sobrang na fe-feel mo talaga yung emotions ng characters because they were portrayed sooo well. Sana I had the chance to watch the PH production huhu (bane of being fron the South and being poor). Anyways, this is probably my favorite musical ngayon. This, Heathers, and Hadestown talaga.

First time watching Next to Normal... damn

So me and my friend watched Next to Normal (London cast proshot uncensored) today for the first time and, well, our eyes were watering lol.

First of all, the actors were all astounding. Like, incredibly astounding. They played their roles perfectly. Natalie's actress was so convincing that even when the camera just pans to her face, I immediately feel sad because when you look at her face, it's clear to the eyes her despair over being completely overlooked by her mother. Gabe was incredibly portrayed. The actor made me feel sympathetic towards the character. Everyone was sooo good and I'm looking forward to rewatching it again.

Next to Normal is sooo good. Solid 8.8/10.

Discriminatory remarks against Bisaya people will only strengthen the Duterte regionalist and populist brand

Discriminatory remarks against Bisaya people will only strengthen the Duterte regionalist and populist brand

I've seen posts here on Reddit, as well as Twitter and Facebook, that feature discriminatory remarks against those who are Bisaya. My take is that the people who push these kinds of narratives need to realize that it will only reinforce people to vote for regionalist and populist candidates like Duterte.

They thrive off of negativity and division. People see these kinds of posts, become emotional, then vote for someone who's unqualified because this candidate shares the same identity as them. Parang "that'll show them" narrative lang.

I agree that voting someone just because they're the same ethnicity as yours is stupid, but posting stuff generalizing everyone negatively, be it political or not, as well as pushing for division (example: stupid Mindanao secession narratives being pushed by both sides. The DDS side is because they want "development" While the other side is more negative and that "walang kwenta" Ang island) won't help persuade voters from these areas in Visayas and Mindanao to vote for a non-Duterte aligned candidate.

Favorite songs from Heathers?

I absolutely adore the show. It's probably the first musical that I watched more than two times lol. My favorite songs are, of course, Dead Girl Walking, Candy Store, Seventeen, Meant to be Yours, as well as Shine a Light, Blue, Beautiful, and Seventeen (Reprise).

Musicals whose most famous songs appear in Act 2?

Almost always, I noticed that many of the most famous songs to come from musicals appear in act one (Defying Gravity—Wicked, I'm Alive—Next to Normal, The Phantom of the Opera—Phantom, Dead Girl Walking—Heathers). So, which musicals feature the opposite? A few examples I think count:

Rose's Turn - Gypsy

She Used to be Mine - Waitress

Seasons of Love - Rent

What aspects of the original Rent workshop script and songs you wish were kept? What parts you glad were cut?

https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PL9FE6E75340D879CC&si=LwUbD9DHHl7pc\_vB

Saw this playlist on YouTube and it's definitely interesting to hear the demos of rent. I'm not well versed regarding this so instead, I'm asking this forum about it. What do you think about this? What aspects you think should've been kept? What parts you were glad were cut?

Well, it was definitely a right call to replace "Right Brain" with "One Song Glory." Like, what the heck is even a "right brain?"
