Buying new boots I narrowed it down to two choices.

Buying new boots I narrowed it down to two choices.

I ended up deciding on the Danner Vicious over the timberland pros. Both are extremely comfy to wear but the timberland insoles are slightly better. The timberlands are a little taller than the danners which i didnt like because i prefer shorter boots I feel like I can move around better. The ultimate deciding factor as stupid as this sounds was when I went to crouch and let my front part of the shoe flex as I bent down the timberlands composite part dug into the top of my foot and it was really uncomfortable. The danners flexed easily with no rubbing any where. The danners I spent $220 and the timberland pros were $175. My only concern is the outside toe area for the danners not having reinforcement which I can always add if I want.

Specific Work boot recommendations (read)

It’s time for a new work boot, I need a recommendation. I have a pair of keen work boots but I barely wear them because they are so heavy and clunky. I’ve been wearing timberland pro powertrain sport and they have been working perfect but I’m technically not supposed to wear them because they are more of an “athletic shoe” than a work boot. Problem is any work boots I find are just too big and don’t flex enough for how I work. I need something I can move fast in. I need recommendations for an athletic work boot that looks like a work boot but I can actually move in. So basically running shoes that look like work boots. Im really not trying to spend more than $150-$200. What do you guys got for me?

It’s ghetto as shit but works lol

My foreman refuses to use hot boxes and thinks they take too long. I told him yeah but you only need one person to operate it. When you are heating up 4” pipe with a torch you need a second person to spin the pipe while you are heating it up. So I made this stupid set up. Notched out a 4” scrap pipe so the pvc can spin freely on it. And then I had an old recessed lighting hole saw that fit inside a 4” coupling. So I used self tappers and screwed the coupling to the hole saw. Used a Velcro strap on my drill to control the speed and voila, hot dog roller.

1800 got junk insane quote

My wife’s uncle just passed away and was living at his mother’s house who left there to live in a nursing home. So that house is 6 hours away from us and my wife and her dad went to go clear out stuff they were keeping before they put the house on the market and they got a quote from 1800 got junk to get rid of the rest of the stuff they didn’t take and they wanted $11,000!!! That is complete insanity. It’s a one floor maybe 1100 sq ft house. Has anyone had to go through something like this when a relative passes away and you need to throw away stuff that’s left over in the house? We don’t live near there so it’s not as simple as just putting certain furniture on Craigslist or on the side of the road (it’s a retirement community)

Anyone else having problems trying to start playing?

Just downloaded the game and tried to launch it and I noticed at the main menu it was very choppy I could barely move my mouse. I joined a game and it crashes. These are what pop up for me. Any solutions? Sounds like my dell pc is too fucking old (didn’t think 2019 is old but whatever) and probably cant download the necessary drivers to even play this game.

Paying for a camper from a private seller question

I was interested in buying a camper from a private seller. It’s about $9000. I’m not comfortable paying the whole thing in cash because I won’t have a decent buffer in my checking account, so I was going to pay $4000 in cash and $5000 with a credit card I’m opening that has 0% interest for 21 months, and within that time I would easily pay off the rest. Problem is I don’t know how to really pay a private seller with a credit card properly. I roughly looked into it but there’s a lot involved and just wanted to see if you guys had any insight. Thank you!

Recommendations for a rooftop ac unit

So I found a pretty good deal on a 2010 Coleman evolution cobalt pop up camper. Problem is it has no ac. And I didn’t want to go the portable route. I’m wondering if it would be possible to add one on these and how hard it could be. I’m an electrician so I’m sure I could figure it out, but what units do you guys recommend?

What camper can I actually tow with a 2019 LE FWD?

I’m really having a hard time finding a camper I can tow with this. I think I saw the towing capacity was only 1500 lbs. realistically could I tow more? What are you guys towing with these specs?

Trying to find a small camper with a GVWR under 1700 lbs

A perfect example of what I’m looking for is the prolite mini, but they are based out of Canada and no dealers near me. But here is the scoop. We have a 2019 Toyota rav4 LE that I believe can tow up to 1700lbs so my choices are pretty limited. We are looking for something you can actually stand up in and would prefer to have sink and cooking inside. We could go the pop up camper route I just hate how ugly they look, and outdated as well. But problem is anything new I see is way over what we would like to spend. I’m trying to stay under $6000 if that’s possible. You guys have any ideas? I live in Lancaster, PA area.

Why didn’t the Kano from 1995 MK movie show his laser ?

Probably a dumb question but I always thought it was weird that they went through all that work and makeup to give him a laser eye and he doesn’t use it once.

Little project I did for my in-laws from start to finish

First two pictures are before and after, then everything else was the process from start to finish. The last picture of the pavers was before I added the polymeric sand and tamper it. But I Started off by breaking up a little concrete slab walkway where the new paver walkway was going to go. That wasn’t fun. Then I started laying out the paver walkway and digging and filling with paver base. Then I realized how bad the slope was near where the walkway would be and decided to add a retaining wall to help with erosion and what not. You can’t tell from the first picture how bad the slope was the picture doesn’t do justice, but it was really bad, so this wall was necessary. So as I was doing the retaining wall I filled behind the wall with the concrete I broke up to use as drainage rock because why not lol. Then I finished off with the stairs leading out to the sidewalk. My in-laws are older so I was worried about them falling on the driveway when walking up in the snow or rain so I decided to do this for them to help them. And for some reason they refuse to park in the driveway which could prevent any falling but whatever that’s their choice. This was definitely a challenging job since I never really installed pavers before or built a retaining wall but I think it wasn’t too bad for my first time. Obviously there will be some landscaping in the future and mulching and what not but I told them to hire landscaper for that lol. I’m tired 🥵

How do you fix giant chunks missing from surface of pavers?

Not sure how this happened I just noticed it the other day. Looks like something may have been dropped and took a chunk out. Is it just as simple as mixing up some mortar that looks close in color and filling it?

Doing some side work and really never priced out installing shutters before. There are about 13 pairs of shutters im installing the old ones are already taken off and they already have the new ones at their house. I just have to put them up. And it’s only one floor house. These are pretty easy to install but still don’t know what to charge for the job. Ideas?

I’m torn between getting Ready Seal stain or Armstrong Clark stain. I need about 5 gallons, the Armstrong Clark one is about $100 more than the ready seal. Should I just bite the bullet and get the Armstrong Clark ? Or will the ready seal be pretty close in quality? I have a good amount of fence to stain and can’t really afford expensive stain. Thoughts?

So I just finished installing this paver walkway, stairs and retaining wall. I’m trying to figure out what to do here with landscaping. This was for my in-laws and they like hostas so in the second and third pictures I used AI to add some hostas and mulch and what not. First two pictures are how it is right now without anything. Wasn’t sure if I should just do grass, do mulch on both sides? Even fill with stone? What do you guys think?
