Ok I’m having a dilemma. I want one of these guitars. Ormsby is probably my favorite brand or guitar. I already own a Goliath. I hear amazing things about Abasi though and I would really love to have one. There is almost no way to ever get a chance to test drive one of these babies because they are things you will NEVER see at guitar center or another music shop hanging on the wall. If anyone has any experience with either of these instruments I would love some feedback from you. I pretty much own almost every wish list guitar I had with the exception of a few. I love having different guitars. It opens a whole new world of experience every time you pick a different one up. Anyway, I appreciate any feedback I can get on these two. I know everyone’s opinion will vary but I wouldn’t mind any actual hands on experience advice.

I have talked about this in some other subs so I figured I would share what I can. This is a swappable fretboard replacement neck I made for a Dingwall 6 string bass. I wonder if I can replicate it so i may make another one for the heck of it. It will not allow me to post the videos so here are some photos. DM me if you want the videos. It actually works perfectly and I’ve said it before, no one was more surprised than me at that. He switches between fretless and multi-scale. Why you ask, because he could. lol. It was a fun project and we went into it expecting the worst but it ended up being better than expected. If you want more info on it let me know.

Hello I am having issues on a build and I have exhausted all my options. I built this tele exactly to the customers specs. He requested a Chinese neck which unfortunately cracked the first time I drilled into it. Once i fully assembled the guitar it tuned and intonated fine. When I adjusted the action lower I lost half the notes on the high frets. I have tried shimming I have adjusted the pocket angle pretty much every trick I know. I believe the neck is just garbage but it can’t be so bad that I lose more than half the notes upon lowering the action. They worked fine prior to that. I need help here because I have to get this done ASAP. Any suggestions would be extremely helpful at this point thank you all in advance

Hey everyone. I feel like quite the idiot because I am a luthier but I have NO experience with Evertune bridges. I have a friend who does artwork for both Solar guitars and myself. Solar gives her free guitars, really high end ones at that, which she gifted to me. When I received it she had completely disassembled it in order to do some art on the body. I reassembled everything. The most difficult portion was of course the Evertune having no experience with them at all. Now I absolutely LOVE Solar guitars but so far I hate this Evertune bridge. I followed every instruction o could find regarding tuning it and it seems no matter what I do it will NOT stay in tune. I could use some help on this. The fractal burns are the artwork she does for both Solar and myself. I would appreciate any ideas here. Thanks

Hey everyone I’m back again with another question. I find everyone for the most part quite helpful. I mean there’s alway those one or two but again, most of the responses are very helpful. I have two shows in September and October and want to have at least 4 guitars on display. I glued on this wenge top the other day and have been staring at it trying to decide what it should be. I am very open to suggestions right now. The thought I keep returning to is making it into a bass. A Mosrite bass to be exact. I feel like wenge should either go on a bass or a guitar built solely for metal since it’s a dark color. Anyway I’m looking for options so have at it. lol.

Unfortunately I have to downsize and am selling some of my higher end guitars. One of my Legators unfortunately have to go. I am curious what everyone’s thoughts are on these guitars. I personally love them. Legator and Ormsby are my two top brands. I only have one Ormsby so I’m not coming off of that one. So what are everyone’s thoughts on these guitars? I am pricing it around 900$

I am big into headless guitars. Out of the 25 guitars I own 6 are headless. I am unfortunately forced to thin out my collection and have had my NK posted for quite some time. All my other guitars with headstocks get sold or at least people inquire but for some reason I never even get a bite on my NK. To be honest this guitar is a beast. I swapped out the original Artec bridge pup with a Dimarzio D Activator or whichever way it is. lol. It really wasn’t necessary since the Artec pickups are actually pretty good. Either way I’m starting to wonder if I’m the only person who likes headless guitars. Let me know your opinion on these.

I just finished this guitar the other day. I am a luthier and usually do guitars built to people’s specs but this one I just built to build. It has some finish issues but l will fix those. Other than that it’s pretty nice. That scalloped frets are fun. Never had a guitar with scalloped fret so I figured I’d give it a try. Anyway I’d love some feedback.

I can’t add a picture but really should have added more when I posted the ad. The angle of the picture makes the string alignment look off but it’s actually not. Someone had also mentioned that the neck pocket looks too big but I can’t figure that one out at all. Must be a shadow. I’ll make another post and maybe it will show things better.

Anyway the guitar is being sold. I was going to use it as a gift for someone because even I will say it’s not my best work. I sold it for 500$. It plays great. The sales not finalized yet so I’ll let you know if it falls through. Thanks everyone.

I want to make an LP but there are two issues. Firstly I don’t have a template so I would be making a different type of LP. Basically one of my own design. Second there is a curvature to the front of an LP body that I wouldn’t be able to accomplish because this top is not think enough. I mean it is but it would be pushing it. I need some ideas here. I displayed the wood on a previous post but can’t wait for these templates to arrive. I must use what I have and keep the assembly line moving before the next shipment of wood arrives. Please your thoughts would be appreciated.

So a client brought me a project that I didn’t think was possible. He has a6 string Dingwall bass. It’s beautiful instrument with a very aggressive multiscale board. He asked if it were possible to change to fret less and microtonal and multiscale. After much thought I took on the project. I made a complete new neck from wenge with a maple core and gave him the ability to swap out his fretboard. At this moment we only have 2 boards fretless and multiscale but I am working on the microtonal. Let me know what you think. Btw no on was as surprised as me when this actually worked. lol

I received these tops this week and I have no idea what type of guitar to make with ithem. I’m taking suggestions. What would you do?

I have attached photos of Ash that I picked up this weekend for a great price. It’s much cheaper to buy like this. I can get most of the money back off eBay anyway. This Ash slab I bought might be one of the cleanest I’ve ever seen. I cut one body blank 21x18x1.75 and it is beautiful. What would you guys use this for? I will be building a 6 string Ormsby futura copy for myself. Leave the rest for new clients. Still want to know what anyone else would build with these.
