Brakes are done on my Fusion

I finally finished my brakes after doing them a second time. I was dumb and tried to save a little bit of money buying cheaper parts on eBay. I found some drilled and slotted rotors and pads and thought I'd try them out. Between the slide pin boots needing to be replaced and the way the rotors sounded and felt when I first put them on, I knew these weren't going to work. So I went to Rock Auto, which is where I usually buy parts from, and bought a new set of some closeout rotors and some new slide pin boots. I got the boots from Rock Auto and the fronts were fine, but they sent me the wrong parts for the rears. So I had to go to Amazon and buy the rears. I also put the new rotors on and used the same pads that came with the set from eBay since I only drove them for a few miles trying to bed them in.

But if you do your brakes, make sure to check not only the slide pins but also inspect the boots to make sure the rubber isn't dry rotted like mine were. They were definitely a pain to replace as I used some brake grease to help install them. I used some needle nose pliers to make it easier to push them in.

All in, I spent just over $275 on all the parts. $150 for the cheap rotors and pads, $100 for the Rock Auto rotors, and around $25 for all the brake hardware and slide pin boots. I will definitely not be cheaping out on brakes the next time I do them. I probably spent about $50-$60 more than I would have if I had spent a little bit more from Rock Auto at the beginning.

I think the reason I didn't check the boots the first time I did them, is because I didn't really understand how they worked on our cars. Most of the slide pin boots I've seen on cars have been the ones that look like a bellows or they are collapsible like a spring. The ones on our cars are embedded into the caliper itself. And then the bolts that hold the caliper on go through the boots.

I didn't take any pictures of the job or anything but if you have any questions about the slide pins, boots, or other parts I used, feel free to ask.

I finally got around to installing fog lights in my 2014 SE. If you have any questions about the install or want to do it yourself, you absolutely can. It cost me just over $100 because I replaced the used and very cloudy lense with LEDs and had to buy a new harness.

I'm pretty sure I can go into Forscan and turn on the dash indicator light so it pops up when they're on.

I don't know if this kind of thing bothers anyone else but it definitely does me. Whenever a movie shows two people talking and they are facing one another and they switch to the camera where they show the listener's face but still have the audio of the other person talking but you can see the lips and facial movements not lining up with their voice. It's obviously two different takes and they just dub in the audio from the person talking. I wish they would just cut out the person's face from the shot when you can clearly see their lips and face not in sync with their voice. I know they're trying to show us the other person's facial response when they're listening, but it's a mistake that I see every time and it annoys me. It happens more often than you might expect. It also shows up in tv shows very often. But they will usually cut to the other person's face before the person finishes their sentence and you can see how their lips and face don't match their voice.

I just heard the song Right on Track by the Breakfast Club and for some reason I have some memory, or it makes me think of David Hasselhoff for some reason. Was this song in a movie or show he was in or am I just imagining things? I did a Google search with the song title and Hasselhoff but the results didn't give me anything.
