Looking for a 3-4 day routine that has worked for you

I’ve been back at the gym for about a month and a half or so since taking time off around Covid (yes, I know). Before that I used to do workouts designed by The Rock and the sort. Really saw amazing results and growth.

That said, nowhere near close to doing that. I got my muscles working again and looking for a good 3-4 week split. I enjoy the consistency cause 2 workouts a week has never really worked out for me. Also one that might exclude squats and lunges. My knees have taken a beaten and just doing the leg press really puts pressure and makes them hurt. I probably need to lose another 20 lbs before getting into squats again and was never really big on lunges (probably for the fact my high school basketball coach made use lunge around the track). Huge fan of deadlifts though as it’s an amazing stretch and next day soreness.

Anyone with a ninja foodi xl grill make jerky?

This is what I have. I know there is a dehydrator but never used it. Only used the air fryer and grill. I know a dehydrator can make beef jerky. So wanted to come on here to see if those who have it have made jerky and any tips involved?

Need ideas for ground beef/ground turkey

I usually make this really good ground turkey (or ground beef) chili. Packs a lot of protein and fiber but all of a sudden my GERD been acting up so want to lay off it. I use very lean fat (10% or less) meat and need ideas on what would be filling, protein heavy and can have leftovers like days, if possible.

Going through my movie collection and found codes for Jurassic Park 1-3. Looks like they are still valid. So looking for movies I don’t have. Just trying to move this asap. Did a test and looks like it can be redeemed through Fandango or MA. I do not know if it’s HD or anything like that though.

Anyone go on tirz then switch to reta and immediately go back to tirz?

I did tirz for a month at 2.5 and it was really good. Then I switched to Reta as I heard better things and my provider was kind of lagging. When I got Reta, I mentioned what I was on and how I was going to go up in tirz and got the ok to do 3.5. HUGE mistake as I had nausea that night and then after a decent day, I spent the next 2 days or so with a residence in the restroom 😂

So I’m going back on tirz at 3.0. So just curious if anyone else might have made a similar mistake as myself and if it messed up the process a bit. Probably going to stay on tirz at a low dose until the end of the year/Jan and depending on how it goes, maybe introduce myself back to Reta slowly.

Best insurance in the US for a senior dog?

Curious what the best pet insurances are for a dog (7.5 years old I believe). He does have a pre existing condition (knee displacement) so I know I will have to pay for that (surgery or meds when it flares) the rest of his life. But I want to be prepared in case anything happens, to have something that will cover him. He’s a Morkie.

Learning a LOT but got some questions on lowering dose and the runs

I wish I did this research before but live and learn as they say. I did 25 units (2.5 is what mg or ml, still trying to remember the correct verbiage) on tirzepatide. Did that for 4 weeks and honestly no real bad side effects. Was having a little problem getting the next supply so switched to Reta as I heard really good things. I should have started low but got the OK to do 35 units (3.5) and first night was rough, second night was good and third night (last night) into today been rough. Nonstop runs.

I thought it might have been these protein bars, maybe it didn’t agree with me as I also had the sulfur burps and it came after eating that. But more research I’m doing, I think I started the dose way too high.

So, two questions I’ve had. When does the runs (diarrhea) stop? Haven’t ate anything today and just drinking water and sipping Gateraid while taking a few over the counter stuff. I feel like it’s stopped then all of a sudden it hits. There goes plans for the gym sadly.

Other question, would it be ok to drop the dose when I inject again to like 1.5-2? Or since I been on tirzepatide for a month and then started at a high dosage for Reta, would it mess me up? I think I’ve read people who started at 2 drop it lower but not sure if because I’ve been on something for a month if it would throw things out of wack (more than my body currently is). Appreciate all the help for mistakes I made. And hopefully someone who searches for answers can learn what NOT to do from my mistakes 😆

Sulfur burps, the runs, what are you eating?

I should start by saying I have GERD and have experienced sulfur burps, runs and cramping before, usually eating then sleeping right after before emptying the stomach. Takes me like a day to recover.

I was on tirzepatide for a month at 2.5. Didn’t really have side effects and felt ok. My connection was lagging and I was told reta was a game changer (I really should have checked this board out first so that is 100% my mistake) so I decided to go with that as my friend did it and had a good connect. I told him my goals and what I did with tirzepatide, was told I’d be fine starting at 3.5.

Again, had I read recommendations first, I’d probably have waited to get tirzepatide or start at like 2.0. Anyways did first shot at like midnight Friday. Went to bed, few hours later and woke up nausea and wanting to gag every so often. Second night slept like a baby. We are on night 3.

This time I have the sulfur burps, runs and a little cramping. I THINK what is triggering it is these protein bars I got. Once I eat it, I got triggered. But I’m also not 100% sure as I know it slows the digestion so that is slowing me off.

I know it was mixed right and everything. So I’m curious for those who have the sulfur burps and runs, did you notice what was triggering it? What made it stop? And what foods you are focused on to make sure this doesn’t happen. I thought protein bars might be a good idea since it’s a lot of protein, quick and not many calories but if it’s the true trigger, want to change this asap.

Anyone switch from Trize to Reta?

I did 2.5ml for a month with Trize. Finally bought a scale on dose 4th and went to the gym (nothing crazy, maybe like 30 minutes or so with weights for a couple of days to get back into it). Ate pretty clean 80% of the time especially on dose 4th where it wasn’t as clean. From the time I took the last dose to a week later, went from 252.6 to 249.1 and I was really shocked (I probably started around 260 give or take a couple of lbs and when I saw 252.6, my goal was to hit 250 the next week). I did lose .4 muscle mass as well. Btw male 39 years old.

My guy was slacking on delivery so found someone who had Reta. So I did 3.5ml as I wanted to up it a bit since 2.5 on Trize, by week 3, didn’t really show no side effects and I was still hungry, BUT my soda and sugar cravings were basically gone (which was sooooo important as I was having 2-3 sodas a day and needed that fix).

The first night was awful as I woke up several times gagging with stomach pain and body aches. I ended up sleeping most of the night the next night.

Woke up and had energy throughout the day but still felt tired (think I’m just sleep deprived due to sleep apnea honestly). Went to the bathroom a lot (not sure if that’s common as I’ve read mixed things) and have regained an appetite. But both seem to have subdued sex drive as well, probably a good and bad thing.

I do feel there is differences between the two. My objective is to hit between 220-230 again. Still high but I know it’s something I can maintain without being on anything and eating somewhat clean with gym exercise. I just want to be able to sleep without the apnea hopefully and have energy again to do theme parks and walk around, it got that bad where I had to take breaks or didn’t want to do anything.

So just curious on the results of people switching and what differences people have had.

medial patellar location surgery question

I know this is a semi common surgery for smaller dogs, where the knee moves around and doesn’t stay in place. I asked a few people on Reddit so wanted to ask a few more. I see the surgeon on Thursday and thinking of doing the surgery come week after Halloween. He’s walking fine again now and I’m thinking 2 months, he hopefully should be ok. This way he can dress up for Halloween/October (already got two costumes) and HOPEFULLY be semi ok to look at Christmas lights. I can’t afford it until October anyways. I’m not sure if he needs both legs or just one, but thinking of doing one then the other (think some people mentioned that’s the best way to do it).

So curious, for those that got it, is there anyone that got it that the surgery sadly didn’t work for? How is it using the bathroom (not being able to use a leg and squat, I’m curious how your dog handled it)? Recovery time (I’ve heard 3 months) and if I got it first week of November, will he be fine for car rides around middle of December to see lights? I don’t think I can put him in a crate (he is not crate trained like that) so planning on just sleeping on the floor with him (put the mattress on the floor and his bed either on my mattress or right next to mine).

As much as I don’t want to get him surgery cause of my own fear of going under for a bit and the pain, I know quality of life does improve. So just trying to get feedback for other owners so I can prepare over the next 1-2 months. Thanks!!

Resellers suck!

Dude went to the Death Note characters and getting a bunch of the Funkos signed. The kid he was with even said that the guy was putting them up on WhatNot. This was for Shannon’s line and everyone was getting annoyed, especially since she was leaving soon for the panel. It sucked as I saw her just before she left for the panel but my time to talk was so short compared to the other 3 voice actors there who really took the time to talk with each guest. Even Shannon’s handler was like sorry and looked annoyed. Shocked some of them don’t put a limit on number of same items to get signed, especially if they have a consistent line.

For dog owners who have small dogs with patellar luxation, question for bathroom use

So my dog might have now Grade 4 patellar luxation. Took to vet and it popped in and out (kneecap) and he lifts his back right leg as he still has issues with it. Took him in Wednesday at midnight. He’s on Gabapentin and Meloxicam. Started giving him chicken bone broth last night and he loves it.

But ya I can tell he’s still in a bit of pain. He does walk a bit and then lifts his leg. Doing a bit better than before and he’s eating and drinking water. I’m hopeful in another day or two he can walk without limping or lifting the leg. Happened 2.5 years ago and this is taking longer it seems like.

That said, he’s gone pee on a pee pad and outside but has not pooped since he got this way almost two days ago. Walking always helps and he poops a good amount when he walks. For those who have experienced this and gone through this with their dog, anything I can do to help him poop? Since he is eating, i’m sure he has to go. And does your dog ever start walking normally after rest and meds or was I just lucky a couple of years ago with it just popping back in place or something and him walking fine again.

And thanks for those who responded to my last post. Already started calling to find quotes for surgery. Found a nice place that has solid reviews, over the phone really nice with answering questions I had over the phone and semi reasonable ($5.5-$6.1k quote vs $8k+ quotes I received). Sadly no one takes payment plans and my credit doesn’t qualify for care credit so have to save so I can get this done for him as everyone who posted said it is a game changer.

Small dog owners with dogs that have problems with their back legs question

Let me state I’m not seeking med advise as I already have a vet appointment for follow up on Saturday. I am seeking stories/experience on owners who have dealt with this issue, what they have done, etc. I also tried looking up Megathreads and the only ones that came up was for pet insur…ance. Nothing about aging or the like.

I’m sure most small dog owners know about the problems with their back legs. It happened a few years ago and he got some medicine and was fine. Today it happened out of the blue it seems like. My Morkie just stopped walking and lifted his back leg up as he could not put pressure on it. Took him to an emergency vet and got some medicine and will be doing x rays over the weekend after I see how the medicine works. This seems a bit different than last time as he definitely licked his back legs last time but did not do it this time. I think it’s a knee displacement and the first time I think they popped it back in. They popped it in tonight but it popped back out. They said that tends to happen with dogs his size.

I know he needs surgery (he’s about 7.5 years old now) and planning on hopefully saving up and getting it done by the end of the year. God willing, he still has half his life if not a little longer left, so want to make sure he can walk and will have no problems even though surgery always scares me (going under). I am curious, for those who elected for the surgery (I think it’s for the knees but not 100% sure and they didn’t list it on the paperwork they gave me), how was the process and did it really improve their walking?

Until then, obviously hoping this round of meds will work and then he will be fine for a while. I did get supplements a while ago and stopped (he did not like eating them) but was wondering if anyone gives their Morkie any supplements for their bones and joints and if it works? And for those that have dealt with this issue, does the pain meds usually work and arthritis meds, then they can go back walking pretty fine after a couple of days? And any tips for using the restroom while they can’t really walk?
