How much out of date food do you come across when doing your review? (Express stores)

Every single time I do it I will find at least one item (usually around 5 or more) from the day before, days before or longer.

Probably around 50% of the items I reduce aren’t even on the review. I’m finding these by accident by just looking around or later on in my shift when stacking shelves.

This means that there will be so so many items that aren’t on the review that need to be reduced that get missed, it’s not necessarily a case of people not checking the back of shelves etc properly it’s just that the PDA isn’t telling us to review the correct items and I know this because I can do it multiple days in a row and find an extremely niche food out of date that hasn’t come up on the review. I always input the next date for the remaining stock correctly too and it still happens.

This now means I have to spend an extra hour or so every single day doing the review so I can also check every single item in the milk, meat, seafood, provisions and other chiller as well as every fruit and veg even if I’m not told to because of the sheer amount of stuff that gets missed.

When my manager sees how much out of code food I find he gets so stressed but the literal only way to prevent this is to scan every single solitary item in the store which is thousands of items every single day and would take hours and hours which is why the review exists. There’s literally nothing you can do about it.

Why is everyone on Reddit forgetting the 2015 uk eclipse?

On every single post nearly every single comment is recalling the last uk eclipse as being in 1999 but there was one only 11 years who. A lot of people who want to dampen people’s excitement keep saying this eclipse will barely be visible due to it only being 95% but the 2015 one was 93% and wasn’t even remotely disappointing (at least not from where I watched it).

I think Eastenders might scrap their original storyline regarding Joel and change it for logistics

I think Vicky is the original culprit because there’s just no way she’d forgive him that quick and she’s always trying to see what people know

But with the way Kat and Alfie were acting in the pub and the way Alfie was so quick to let slip that there’s a video of the other kids tormenting him + the recent drunk driving charges that Shane has got for himself, I think they’re setting it up for Alfie to be the head basher

He’s had his violent moments in the past and it would be totally out of character now but in order to axe a long standing character who’s in the show so often would require some outlandish storyline even if it is bad writing

My online HMRC account says I paid £0 in tax from the past tax year but this isn’t true

Hi, I’m extremely clueless so please correct me where I’m wrong and help me out.

I’ve logged onto HMRC and it says I’ve paid the correct amount of tax for April 2025-April 2026 as I owe £0 and paid £0.

I worked a job for 4 months at 35-50 hours a week paying tax each month then was unemployed again until this month.

Would I not be owed that tax back? I definitely didn’t pay £0 in tax.

Thank you.

Just started as a shift leader and I feel like I’m getting in everyone’s way and doing an awful job

I’m a handful of shifts in and happened to start during a very busy week where not much was taught to me as we had to prepare for something big and my manager did acknowledge this and was apologetic and reassuring.

Towards the end of the week colleagues started to get more helpful, showing me the ropes etc and they’re all friendly and approachable.

I’ve completed my online shift leader training and I’m due in again tomorrow and I’m anxious about it.

We had a lot of staff from other stores in last week to help us get the store in order (we’re an express) and I just constantly felt like I was stepping on people’s toes, doing things wrong, not fulfilling my role etc.

This isn’t my first job as a shift leader nor is it my first job in retail and I’m not the type of person to usually be scared to ask questions when I’m unsure but I’m so overwhelmed by all the new information that I don’t even know what questions to be asking yet I still feel lost. I’ve got a lot going on in my personal life at the moment which likely doesn’t help but I’m hoping once that subsides I can be more focus.

Does it get easier? Am I just not cut out for the role?

Literally what are you meant to do if you need a uk dentist but don’t have any money?

Edit: thank you so much for everyone who’s been kind enough to take the time to provide solutions but I would really like to emphasise that emergency dentist appointments cost money and my issue isn’t getting an emergency dentist appointment, the issue is I don’t have one single penny for a dentist appointment and I’m seeking uk resources and advice relevant to that. Thank you

I’ll bullet point everything to explain things more clearly and I am not asking for medical advice just advice regarding nhs dentist processes;

•last month I, F25 was brutally assaulted by a random man and had my tooth knocked out.

•tooth got put back in and I was told I’d need a root canal

•went back to dentist to get splint taken off and he said it looked perfectly fine, needed the splint on a little longer then a root canal and I’d have to go private as dental hospitals in a 3 hour radius aren’t taken on and an nhs dentist won’t see me for a root canal until September which is too long to wait

•I’m a full time student who’s only just managed to get a full time job, i wont get paid till next month

• I have £15 to my name to last me until then

• I’m starving myself and using food banks

• I’m not entitled to any benefits or uc because i work and I’ve been refused

• I now have an abscess and will immediately need this root canal because if I don’t get one, I’ll need a dental implant and the tooth pulling

• I have £15 to my name until next month, I have been told I can get compensation but if the man who assaulted me has no money I could be waiting yearssssss for it and I can’t send off any receipts which I’m being asked for by the police officer because I can’t afford the dental treatment in the first place

Literally what do I do, I need the root canal in the next few days or else this £150-£2000 job (depending on nhs or private treatment) will turn into a £4000-£10,000 job

Where can I find my employee number?

Hi, I’m a new colleague due to start soon so I need to sign up to the my Tesco app for my rota but I can’t create my account because I can’t seem to find my employee number, I’ve made some calls and sent some emails but it says on the email it should be in my offer letter or career portal. It’s definitely not in my offer letter but I’m not sure where in my career portal to look.

TIA 😊

How do I get registered to a uk dentist within a week?

Long story short I was attacked by a man I don’t know and had my tooth knocked out, I received hospital treatment to reinsert the tooth and have a splint put on. They told me in 1 week I’ll need to have it taken off and have a root canal so the tooth lasts. The police have told me it has to be NHS or else the courts will have a problem claiming the compensation from the man who assaulted me.

I’m a student, no job, no money and having to eat out of a food bank at the moment anyway as the money I have (I have applied for 400+ jobs) until I land a job is just enough for an NHS dentist appointment and some extra costs they might include.

I’ve called some places and they said they’ll get back to me and they haven’t.

This is really urgent as I need this root canal done soon or else the tooth is not going to last and I can’t afford the implant when it drops out if it drops out prematurely due to no root canal being performed on time and there isn’t another option according to the specialists at the hospital who treated me.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated and please do explain it step by step as I was registered with the same dentist all my life back home but it closed down, I’m definitely willing to travel for this

I was assaulted by a man I don’t know and he knocked my tooth out, what are my options financially to cover the associated costs? (England)

I’m going to try and keep this brief whilst including all information I believe to be relevant. This incident happened 6 days ago I am a 23 year old female and full time student.

• I witnessed a man assault his partner by pushing her to the ground after chasing her and verbally abusing her. He was threatening to kill her and was going to continue the attack whilst she was on the floor.

• I ran over, hands completely full so very clear intentions I wasn’t looking for a fight (I wasn’t drunk but they both were, I was on my way home with a friend eating chips) and I told him to back off as she was already walking away and then I went to help her get up

• He threatens to strangle and kill me and looks to me as if he’s about to approach me and as he’s threatening to strangle and kill me I throw my chips at him with the intention of then running away or hoping he’ll stop because I knew I had no chance physically defending myself but I genuinely feared for my life and hers.

• he punches me, knocks me out for 1-2 minutes and knocks my front tooth out.

• I wake up, bouncers are there helping, his ex partner was explaining she just broke up with him and he was violent to an ex partner who previously warned her about him + addicted to cocaine. Police are searching for him. A witness from the bar they just left said he was being aggressive to other women in the bar whilst running away from men who were trying to intervene just before the couple argued in the street.

• police arrive, find my tooth, take me to hospital, they reinsert the tooth and I have a splint now holding it in place.

• I will now need thousands of £ of dental work done.

• I am very coincidentally in nhs mental health treatment with diagnosed OCD where my worst and most impactful OCD compulsions are around the fear of losing teeth which has caused me to restrict food, quit jobs and be unable to leave the house in the past, this will cause it to snowball and my very last NHS therapy session is this week. This is all on record with the NHS.

• I am a full time student due to finish my studies in September and I’m unemployed. I’ve applied for over 400 jobs and had limited interviews. This is standard for students in my city as the job market is awful and I’m worried that due to the state of my teeth, I’m not being hired from interviews. I’ve been rejected from universal credit as well.

• I am going to have to spend the very last of my money on getting a root canal in two weeks, I don’t even have a dentist and nowhere will take me on. This means I’ll have to eat from food banks and this has affected my sports and gym life style due to lack of nutrition as I can’t eat solid food, which were the most important things in my life and I’ve now had to give it up (my future jobs would have potentially been in this industry).

• police arrested him, he’s been interviewed and is now on bail due to no prior convictions.

•The police have told me they strongly believe he will plead guilty once the cps have the cctv and my medical records based on the interview.

> Will it be likely he goes to prison?

> If he goes to prison will this mean I have no chance at receiving any compensation?

> Do I even have any grounds for claiming some sort of compensation?

> Would I need to claim in a civil court?

> Would it need to go to trial for me to get compensation?

> I have zero interest in receiving a single penny more than what I lose in dental care, could these costs be fully covered given he has the money to cover it?

> What is the process if I am able to claim compensation.

Thank you for taking the time to read, if I’ve missed any details out please ask the relevant questions and I’ll answer, thank you 🙏🏼

I’m finding it impossible to do online dating because of how obsessive men are

This sounds extremely extremely egotistical I’m aware but I promise you I know I’m not gods gift. I’m 25F, I would say I’m attractive but I’m not anything special, I’m an athlete, go to the gym daily, I’m not even that funny or interesting and I’m by no means rich.

But almost every single man I match with, I’ll exchange numbers or socials have 1 conversation with them then they expect me to have these hours long conversations with them ALL day EVERY DAY.

I have a career, I have friends, I have a family, I’m in university, I have hobbies I’m a busy person and although I’m really good with communication, letting people know when I’m too busy to talk etc, my life doesn’t entirely revolve around dating and every man seems to send me 50 messages a day even when I’m not replying and sometimes even getting AGGRESSIVE. They’ll even tell me they’ve told their friends + family about me, get angry that I’m spending time with my friends (who I won’t see for a few years after this summer which I tell them), text me as if we’re already married, expect me to not see family etc.

THESE ARE ALL MEN IVE NEVER EVER MET.

I can understand talking all day every day if you’ve actually been on dates or you’re getting serious and don’t get me wrong, clear communication is important and you should either message a few times every day OR have deeper conversations every few days if you’re planning on meeting but if you’ve never met someone you are not romantically or sexually involved with that person and they do not owe you 8 hours of conversation 7 days a week and you should not be getting angry that they’re prioritising friends, family or themselves in the little free time they get.

I have an extremely healthy attachment style I’m not avoidant at all and I set boundaries very very clearly but they almost always get ignored so I end up having to block these men meaning I end up never going on dates because these men made me feel unsafe due to their lack of respect for boundaries when I’m by no means a time waster and would like to meet people.

What am I doing to attract such clingy obsessive men?

Why do so many people on this sub not know what a girl dinner is? A meal is NOT girl dinner, that’s the total opposite of a girl dinner. A girl dinner is when you gather random ingredients that don’t go together and eat it as a meal. It’s literally explained in rule 4. Anyway here’s my girl dinner.

Sweet chilli, jalepeno houmous, veggie chicken nuggets, falafel, halloumi, veggie ham, yellow pepper and chilli cheese bites

This little fledgling we had rescued after falling from our roof

The baby fell from the roof so we took her in for a few hours as we were concerned about next doors cat getting to her then called some animal rehab experts who came and collected her. They’re keeping her in for a week to make sure she doesn’t have any injuries or disease then she’ll be released into the nature reserve to live the rest of her life when she’s able to. The siblings and mum are still on the neighbours roof.

How do I make the laxative I took 14 hours ago kick in like, immediately, right now?

Took a laxatives (dulcolax) which are strong, at 10pm. It’s now 2pm the next day and despite cramping at 4am, drinking 2.5L of water, running 3.5km and doing 1.5 hours on the stairmaster as well as drinking coffee this morning it’s not kicking in and I’ve got a date in 3 hours.

Help!!!!

Insanely high body fat %, does this sound right?

25F, 5”2, 9 stone 4, I’m an athlete and a powerlifter.

I’ve lost 4 stone and then gained it all back after an accident (I was bulking then the accident happened the exact day I started the cut leading to more weight gain and muscle loss)

I’m a POWERLIFTER

I lift weights 5 days a week and do 2-3 hours of exercise daily and walk 15-20k steps every single day.

I am losing 2lbs a week consistently and I am very very successful with my weight loss. I am absolutely a healthy weight for my age, height etc

But my body fat is 40%

That is morbidly obese territory

How is that possible?

I’ve used multiple scales to detect this and my doctor today weighed me and checked this and verified that I am in fact 40% body fat

I don’t have visible abs but my back muscles are very visible when flexing, my glutes are very muscular and my quads are very visible and rock solid to the touch (aware this sounds egotistical but I’m just trying to paint an accurate picture to see where I’m going wrong and what I’m missing)

I’m not skinny and I’m not particularly flabby (I have fairly big biceps but a lot of fat on my arms but I was 6 stone with huge bingo wings so it’s genetic) and my belly isn’t toned but it’s by no means huge.

Are these scales just extremely inaccurate? Genuinely how is this possible

What uk brands of hair dye can you buy from uk drug stores that fade quite quickly? Thinking of some cheaper brands?

Essentially I don’t have the commitment to purchase a more expensive brand that lasts long or go to a hair dressers as that will also last too long.

I want some colour (maybe dark brown or red) that lasts a few weeks and starts to fade.

I am a fully qualified hair dresser so I am more than capable of colouring my own hair very well but the only brands I’m familiar with are salon brands that last way too long for my liking as I just want to test the waters.

Having struggles interpreting this and my lecturer won’t help, does this mean the essay must not exceed 5k words including the bibliography and footnotes (never seen that before) or it must not exceed 5k words and it also must include footnotes and a bibliography separately?

IMPORTANT INFO- THE MODULE GUIDANCE SAYS DO NOT INCLUDE BIB IN WORD COUNT

I already made a complaint against the lecturer for ignoring 17 of my emails and 100+ of other people’s since September after he cancelled the initial module, didn’t tell anyone and set the wrong coursework (hence the extensions). All of us are in the same boat and he won’t answer the emails regarding this so I’m a little stuck.
