Why does minimalist design work so well in apartments?

Imagine a family moving into a new 2BHK. They have a sofa, dining table, TV unit, wardrobes, beds, kitchen appliances, and obviously they want the house to look good too.

Bt the problem is, the flat is only so big.

If we keep adding colours, patterns, furniture and decorative elements, the house starts feeling packed. Even though nothing is technically taking up too much space, it feels smaller.

That’s where minimal design works really well.

You keep the furniture simple, use a few materials and colours, and hide storage wherever you can. Everything the family needs is still there it just doesn’t feel like everything is fighting for your attention.

The flat hasn’t become bigger.

We’ve just removed the visual clutter that was making it feel smaller.

That’s why we refer minimalism and it wirks so well in apartments

The mistake you don’t want to discover after spending lakhs on your home.

Ever since I posted about VR, I’ve been getting a lot of responses, so I just wanted to share one more thing. I genuinely feel homeowners should be able to visualise their interiors and make changes in real time, instead of waiting until execution to realise something doesn’t work.
Here’s a video showing how you can change colours, textures, paint finishes and even furniture alignment in real time and see how it looks for yourself.
Being able to experience the space before it’s actually built can completely change the way you make design decisions.

VR Changed everything

Hi guys, just a little suggestion to my fellow designers — please take the time to really understand your clients and their needs.
I used to struggle with this a few years ago, but over time I learned to adapt my approach to different clients and started embracing technology and new trends.
One thing that completely changed the way I presented designs was VR. Once we introduced VR, clients were able to actually experience and understand the space instead of just looking at plans or 3D views.
Most clients don’t naturally have the spatial understanding that designers develop over years, so expecting them to visualize a space from drawings can be difficult.
Adding VR to the design process changed everything for me. It made communication easier, helped clients understand the design better, and ultimately made the whole process more effective.
Just sharing what worked for me hope it helps someone!

SketchUp → Datasmith → Unreal: Texture UV Scale Issue

Hi everyone, I’m importing a SketchUp model into Unreal Engine 5 using Datasmith. The materials import correctly, but the textures appear extremely small / repeat too many times, so the UV scale is wrong.

Has anyone had this issue with SketchUp → Datasmith → Unreal? What is the best way to fix the UV/texture scale — in SketchUp before exporting, or inside Unreal?

Any recommended settings, workflow, or plugins would be really helpful. Thanks!

Looking for a Co-Founder in Bangalore for a Real Estate Startup

(Polished with ai)
Hi everyone,

I’m looking for a co-founder in Bangalore to build a real estate business together from the ground up.

I’m interested in building a modern, trustworthy and scalable real-estate business focused on the Bangalore market, with the goal of solving genuine problems faced by property buyers, sellers, owners and investors.

I’m looking for someone who is serious about entrepreneurship and wants to build something long-term, rather than looking for a regular job.

### Who I’m looking for

Ideally, you:

- Are based in Bangalore
- Have an interest or experience in real estate
- Have experience in sales, business development, marketing, technology, operations, or property
- Are good at communication and networking
- Can build relationships with property owners, buyers and investors
- Are proactive and comfortable taking responsibility
- Are willing to work hands-on during the early stage
- Are interested in building a company, not just earning a salary

You don't need to have a perfect background or extensive real-estate experience. Attitude, execution, honesty and commitment are more important.

### What we would work on

The initial focus would be the Bangalore real-estate market, with opportunities to develop the business into a larger platform/service over time.

We would work together on:

- Finding and validating the right business opportunity
- Customer acquisition
- Property-owner and buyer relationships
- Partnerships
- Sales and business development
- Operations
- Marketing
- Building a scalable business model

I’m open to shaping and refining the business model together with the right co-founder based on actual market demand.

### What I’m offering

This is intended to be a genuine co-founder opportunity with ownership, not a job vacancy.

Equity/profit sharing would be discussed based on the person's contribution, experience, responsibilities and commitment.

I’m looking for someone who wants to take real ownership and build the business together from the early stage.

### If you're interested

If you’re in Bangalore and seriously interested in real estate + startups + entrepreneurship, send me a DM.

Please tell me a little about yourself, your background, your experience, and why you’re interested in building a real-estate business.

I’m happy to connect, have a conversation and see whether we’re a good fit.

Looking for a serious, trustworthy and committed person who wants to build something meaningful in Bangalore real estate.

What nobody tells you about real estate.

The more time I spend around real estate, the more I realize...

Buildings are the most visible part of the business.

Not the most valuable.

By the time the foundation is poured, someone has already made hundreds of decisions.

Which land to buy.

When to buy it.

What to build.

Whether the numbers work.

How to finance it.

Who the customer is.

The building is simply the final chapter.

The real story was written long before construction began.

What's one real estate lesson that completely changed the way you think?

Looking to connect with people who are genuinely interested in building something in real estate.

I’m particularly interested in solving real problems through technology, data, operations, or new business models—not just discussing ideas.

If you're:
- A builder, founder, developer, designer, or real estate professional
- Curious about creating products or startups in real estate
- Willing to experiment, validate ideas, and commit time

I'd love to connect.

No fully formed idea is required. I'm looking for people with a genuine builder mindset who are excited to learn, collaborate, and create something meaningful.

If this resonates with you, send me a message with a bit about your background and what interests you about real estate.
