What's going on with the pretentious yearly dinner tonight? Some gnarly weather happening.
Anyone look at apartments or actually move to one in Hells Kitchen between 7th Ave and 11th Ave between W 42nd and W 57th street? What was your experience? Any blocks to avoid?
Any buildings worth looking at?
So far with online research, we are looking into - Helena, Max, Gotham West, Mima, Silver Towers, Sky, Westport, W 54th, Hudson Landing, Nicole, Ellington, Longacre, Avalon Midtown West, Biltmore, 555Ten.
For me it is the chopped burger from Emmy Squared. I loved how it slightly different than typical burgers - the meat was chopped up with green peppers and onions. Anyone else know the item I am talking about? It was great. Recently went to order it and it wasn't available anymore (at least not at the Philly location).
What are some of your most missed items taken off menu in recent years?
My top 5 and Favorite Character -
Silver Spoons - Ricky Straton
Head of the Class - Allan Pinkard
Full House - DJ Tanner
Mr. Belvedere - Wesley Owens
Growing Pains - Mike Seaver

What stores will you make most purchases from for fall shopping for either yourself or your kids?
What are similar sitcoms where families have different opinions and political beliefs but are still really good at having each other's back? I think Family Ties was so great with this and the show balanced conservative and liberal opinions. Most shows these days swing far left. There is Last Man Standing which swings far right in a lot of ways - do you think that show compares to Family Ties in terms of different opinions being discussed?
For those of you who looked or lived in buildings located in Hell's Kitchen/Midtown West...what do you think of apartments off 11th ave in the 40s or 50s?
To those who are planning to visit the city especially with kids or elderly - be away there will be a lot of naken people on bikes and a lot of road closures. Good day to stay out of Center City Saturday Aug 22!
When it comes to teen sitcoms, if you could only rewatch either ABC TGIF, NBC TNBC Saturday Morning, Nickelodeon teen sitcoms or Disney teen sitcoms which would you pick?
For me the choice comes down to TGIF lineup or TNBC lineup. Boy Meets World vs City Guys and California Dream (not to mention Saved by the Bell and Hang Time) yeah I am going with TNBC Saturday mornings. You?
Who are your two favorite characters from each show and why?
My list -
Joey and Rachel on Friends. Joey - grew up in NYC typical Italian family, great looking and funny. Rachel - beautiful, great sense of fashion, funny.
Leonard and Sheldon on TBBT. Leonard is a nice guy, smart but not typical nerd. Sheldon is funny and unique.
Marshall and Ted on HIMYM. Marshall is a good friend. Ted is cute, funny and most typical of twentysomething guys in the city.
We are considering the UWS. Very early in search process.
Have looked at apartments on West End Ave between W 60th and W 75th and a few more along Riverside Drive.
One place we liked is The Ashley on W 63rd. Do you know anything about it?
Close to a playground, and grocery stores. There seem to be a lot of options in that area - others were 101 West End on W 64th, and there is Waterline Square.
Kids ages 6 and 9.
Apartments we have liked most so far have been between W 59th and W 70th on West End and Riverside. I need to spend more time on DOE website but do you happen to know the zone elementary schools for that area?
Someone on another Reddit page said PS 191 isn't good.
Opinions?
Most fast food isn't healthy at all and certainly some places have practically zero healthy options on the menu but it's interesting that certain chains do make the effort to put healthier items on the menu -
Chick-Fil-A has grilled chicken sandwiches, grilled nuggets, fruit cups, salads.
Taco Bell has veggie or protein bowls.
Wendy's has salads. I used to get baked potatoes there - don't know if they still offer that.
What are some of your favorite "healthier" items at fast food restaurants?
Do you consider Chipotle, Cava, Dig, Naya and Sweetgreen to be fast food? Some people consider it all fast food and some people are picky about distinguishing between fast and fast casual. These places overall are healthier than the traditional fast food spots and many don't have drive thru's (which some people use as a defining factor of fast food).
Is Tribeca without a doubt a better area for a family than West Village? Is the West Village too much of a twentysomething influencer scene these days? Pros and cons? Which would you choose?
Mine are Leave it to Beaver, Ozzie and Harriet, and either Father Knows Best or My Three Sons (torn about that one).
Mine are the Heck's from The Middle.
Which is your favorite and why?
I used to like Fresh Prince and I definitely like Carton's character on the sitcom, however, as I have gotten older I feel that Will was really arrogant and annoying on the sitcom. I really have been impressed with Bel Air, the writing and character development and at this point I enjoy watching Bel Air more than Fresh Prince. You?
For those of you who like the show but don't love it (I am in this category), what changes would you have made to make it a better show?
My top 5 favorites from season 1 -
Very First Show
Very First Night
Sisterly Love
Just One of the Guys
DJ Tanner's Day Off
