Which of these three sitcoms do you like best - Seinfeld, Home Improvement, King of Queens?

I recently tried rewatching Seinfeld because my SO likes it a lot, personally I can't stand it (Jerry is annoying, the writing in some episodes is so repetitive they use the word funny a million times, etc.). I am not a fan of all of Tim's shenanigans with Tool Time and blowing things up but I think his scenes with Jill and his kids are great, I like it as a family sitcom a lot. KOQ is definitely a show I can rewatch or put on in the background, it's pretty funny, good interaction among cast etc.

What SITCOMS most remind you of summer because they are filmed in a warm location or even beach?

First ones that come to mind for me are -

Malibu CA (teens from NYC move in with their dad who lives in Malibu)

California Dreams

Saved by the Bell (especially the summer episodes where they work at the beach club)

Three's Company despite being set in a beach town doesn't really have that feel because despite great opening credits emphasizing their location, most scenes are filmed indoors.

Since this is Reddit Sitcoms let's stick to naming SITCOMS.

What shows do you think of?

Name your 3 favorite SITCOMS from each of these categories - Family Sitcoms, Friend group Sitcoms and Workplace Sitcoms.

My list -

Friend Group Sitcoms - Friends, The Big Bang Theory, How I Met Your Mother

Workplace Sitcoms - this is my least favorite category however I would rate the following as my favorites in this category - Just Shoot Me, Taxi, Not Suitable for Work (new show on Hulu)

Which SITCOMS would you like to see remade?

My list- Taxi, Brady Bunch/Step by Step, Silver Spoons, Growing Pains, Head of the Class, Perfect Strangers, Yes Dear.....it would be cool to see newer versions with same premises....this is what I can picture...

Show being about Uber drivers (remake of Taxi).

It's been a while since we have had a remake of blended family such as Brady's or Step By Step.

New show about a rich kid getting acquainted with his father (remake of Silver Spoons).

Family with two working career parents and 3 kids, this time with the mom being the psychiatrist would be my idea of Growing Pains reboot (also this time the girl would be cool and popular and her brother would be smart and nerdy).

There was a brief remake of Head of the Class, for some reason it didn't do well....like to see new writers give it another try.

Perfect Strangers is funny and interesting and I would like to see a remake with new characters/new actors.

And, Year Dear a show about two families in different socioeconomic situations living under one roof raising their kids - some slightly new twist on that.

What would make a therapist consider using consequences for not completing tasks?

If client has been working with someone for a while and has been a good client (always shows up, always talks, tries to work on things), what would make a therapist mention needing more accountability and there being consequences? What does that look like compared to when a therapist is more laid back and supportive/encouraging in a gentle way? As a therapist have you ever done this to your clients?

Who are the wealthiest families from SITCOMS you watch?

Who are the wealthiest families among your favorite SITCOMS?

Mine are - Diffrent Strokes, Silver Spoons, and Fresh Prince.

Followed by - Who's The Boss (not as wealthy as ones mentioned above but Jonathan still grew up pretty well off).

I know a lot of people are going to bring up Modern Family and that fits but it's not personally a show I watch.

Season 2 episode 7 - Joey Gets Tough

I love the beginning of this episode - so nostalgic to rewatch with the girls and Joey watching Tiffany perform her classic song I Think We Are Alone Now. I don't like the overall message of the episode though, Joey is in charge and DJ goes out for pizza after karate class without calling home and in the end instead of being grounded that weekend they post pone it so she doesn't miss the karate meet. Not much of teaching a lesson. At the very least she should have been grounded every day for two weeks starting the very next day minus going to the tournament straight there and back that particular day but overall, they (Joey and later Danny) were too easy on her. Opinions? Most kids in the 80s wouldn't have gotten away with so much disrespect.
