Spicy Garlic Ramen - Matsunoki in Portland OR

I know I’ve posted them here before but idc. The mushy looking stuff is a boatload of garlic and their mapo Tofu, favorite ramen I’ve ever had and certainly the best spot in town. The slab of pork belly melts in your mouth. Incredibly flavorful.

Easily the most blatant hacking I’ve ever seen.

3 shotgun hits through a solid brick wall with zero line of sight on this guy. Did this all game

Happy Juneteenth! Buttermilk fried chicken club sandwiches.

This batch of chicken might have been my best ever honestly and I’m kinda bummed it went into sandwiches…that said… one of the best chicken sandwiches I’ve ever had

First time trying hot pot and making BBQ at home

After endless mouthwatering at posts by /u/godok_drinker I decided to try my hand. I don’t have a hot pot so I ate all this over the stove in my kitchen. Recovering from my Itis coma currently, 10/10

NGD: my new clean machine. First tele/strat type.

Fender Tele Player 2 Modified. Certainly the nicest guitar I own. Adding to my schecter c1 plat and Ibanez gio. Typically play hard rock and metal and I want to return to standard tuning (and actually learn how to play for once) and I’m already loving the classic style and it sounds incredible.

High pitched ringing noise in new Telecaster Player 2

It’s present on all amp settings, both speaker and headphones too. It’s the high pitched sound that sounds almost like feedback on my open high E, and I’ve noticed it on other fretted strings as well including low E. Just bought the guitar Saturday. Any insight is appreciated

NGD: First Telecaster. Should I keep it?

Thank you to my wife. I played it at GC and she went back and bought it for me. I wasn’t set on a new guitar yet (was interested in teles though) and it’s also a case of retail therapy here…thoughts?

Definitely the nicest guitar I own, surpassing my schecter c-1 plat, and for what I’ll be using it for it’s an upgrade from my Ibanez gio. Beautiful sounding clean tones on my katana mini.

Edit: I still paid for this with my money. It’s not like my wife gifted this to me and the situation is more complicated. Since you guys are so concerned about her, she just wants me to have a nice new guitar and doesn’t care which one. So since I just spent $1k on this I want to make sure it’s the right fit for me, I didn’t get much time to research it beforehand.

TW: how do you deal with family who hates snakes

Hope this doesn’t bother anyone and that it’s not off topic, but we just had our second miscarriage yesterday and my mom who won’t even step into my home because of our pet snake for religious reasons (I’m a Christian, not fucking crazy, and love my snake dearly) and asked if our OBGYN knew that we had a snake in the home, saying there can be links to miscarriage and harm to children under 5 if there are snakes in the home.

This is certainly bullshit, right? But how do you guys deal with family or friends who are afraid of or hate your snakes. I don’t even know how to respond to such an insane response. She brought it up gently but it was right after I told her today and I just don’t get it.

Second miscarriage in a row. Feel like God hates me.

I’m the husband. 4 years of trying. First pregnancy in September resulted in an MC. This time around, opposite of the first time, my wife was fiercely and radically optimistic and I was the one with doubt and fear. Only a week ago did I finally put that aside and finally feel excitement and joy at this second chance.

Today has been hell, the second worst day of my life. I feel like a spiritual fraud. Failing to lead my wife. Failure to have faith because I knew this would happen from the start. I also feel that my own sin has disqualified me from God’s love. I know it’s bs but surely scripture, in reference to the infinite abundance of mercy, doesn’t refer to modern fools like myself whose daily lives make a mockery of the Lord.

I’ve tried but if he loved me he wouldn’t make me go through this again after I begged and pleaded after the first time to never feel this pain again. I love my wife, I’m devoted to her, and listening to her weep again makes me wish I’d never been born.

Worthless life

So I tried Jin Spicy..

Seen this compared to shin a lot. I think nongshims bone broth is much richer, this is more like shin red, but I still found it a bit lacking in flavor. I really like the noodles however, 10/10 ideal instant noodle texture for me.

I’d definitely eat it again, but for the amount of sodium (81% DV) I expected more flavor. Probably gonna add some fish sauce next time and it’ll be better.

Sometimes we gotta make do with what we got. Foster farms buffalo wings with a little extra love.

Using the made at home flair loosely. I air fry the wings and simmer the buffalo sauce with honey and some extra spices, then toss together. They satisfy my unending wing craving in a pinch for sure, all for about $7.

CLI approved from Synchrony (retail CC)!

My bank CCs all got increased a couple weeks back (my primary from 500 >> 3500) and I thought I’d try my guitar center card as well, instant increase. I should have requested more maybe but I’m happy with the $1k bump. Don’t really plan on using this one for a while but it’s nice to have! 685 Fico

Ended up a little yellow but my homemade take on Eem’s (pdx) burnt ends white curry. Thai curry made of coconut cream, lemongrass, plenty of fish sauce, nam prik pao and ginger. I have a lemongrass galangal paste that made it a bit yellow cause of the turmeric. Served with sticky rice.
