How can I improve my S22 setup for better clothing video quality?
Beginner here, trying to get the best possible video quality for my clothing business without spending a ton.
Current setup:
- Samsung S22
- 1080p @ 30fps
- Regular camera mode (no Pro/Wide)
- Beige solid-color matte curtains as background, no shine
- Two Digitek DPL-19 80W bi-color LED panel lights
- Windows directly in front of the background. I usually keep them covered but sometimes open them for sunlight.
- Small indoor setup, mainly shooting clothing/model videos.

Light specs: 80W each, 2700–6500K, 480 LEDs, dimmable, bi-color. They're not softboxes, so I assume diffusion might be one area I can improve.
I'm currently using the normal S22 camera and basically treat ISO as a brightness control and shutter speed as another brightness/flicker control. 😅 I don't really understand Pro mode yet.
A few things I'm wondering:
- What Pro Video settings should I use on the S22 for this setup? ISO, shutter speed, WB, focus, etc.
- Should I shoot 4K 30fps and export/downscale to 1080p, or just shoot 1080p? My editing app takes much longer to process 4K.
- CapCut takes too much processing time for me, so I'm considering Filmora or Premiere Pro if the quality improvement is actually worth it.
- Are there any good third-party camera apps for the S22 that would give me better video quality/control?
- Should I change anything about the background?
- Any other relatively cheap upgrades that would noticeably improve sharpness, fabric texture and overall professional quality?
I'm mainly shooting women's clothing, so I want the fabric, prints, stitching and colors to look as accurate and detailed as possible.
Would appreciate advice from people who actually shoot with phones/cameras. I'm willing to learn Pro mode—I just need to understand which settings actually matter.
