A question about Co-Op in the game

Actually 2 questions

First - me and my friend are playing the co-op version on the demo. Right now every single time I die, I have to go into the menu and click 'co-op' and then my friend has to get his controller recognized and then we can proceed. As opposed to, me dying and then just starting again in co-op mode. What is this about? Does it go away if i buy the game vs the demo?

Second - we are at the first boss and when we die we have to run across a huge part of the map just to get to the boss every time. Is this intentional as well?

I'm looking for a YouTube channel that analyzes specific matches. Can you guys point me in the right direction?

Basically looking for someone who analyzes an entire specific fixture/match Famous matches, classic matches, or relevant ones, someone who actually looks at a particular game and talks about it in its entirety. I can't seem to find anything that has this on youtube, does this exist?

Hello can someone please help me with how progression works in the game?

last night I hosted a game and me and four friends had a great time for a few hours.

We told our friends about the game and they all bought it. We plan on playing tonight. I want them to experience the beginning of the game so we are planning on a new save.

Basically, is the only way for us to experience the game in a linear way together is that every single time we play we all play together on the same save? If you play on more than one save how are you supposed to keep track of what was accomplished and what was an accomplished yet? Seems so confusing

Is the only way that we can experience every part of the game is that we are all scheduling together that every time we play the game we play it together from start to finish on the same save?

.

I am DJing a video game music set this weekend, any recommendations you guys have?

Hey guys! I figured that you could help me out here, I'm lucky enough to have been asked to play a DJ set at a video game themed rave party. You guys happen to have any recommendations of basically classic video game tunes that are remixed into an EDM Club setting? I could take any genre but I don't want anything super fast like hardstyle but drum and bass would be okay.

Thank you guys so very much, I know that part of the art of being a DJ is doing some of your own digging but I think that you guys may have some awesome things I missed

Anyone else having issues with CFC+?

I'm pretty upset about CFC+. I purchased my subscription a few days ago. Yesterday I logged on to watch the Wanderers match and its not recognizing my subscription. When I look at my account info, it says I have a subscription. When I go to the CFC+ area of the website it says I need to buy a subscription to access, but when i click that button an error comes up saying I can't buy another copy. I emailed CFC+ and they replied back with a generic email saying to log out and log back in and use different platforms to access CFC+. Well, its not working on my phone app or 2 different PC's. I've tried VPNs and things that dosn't make a difference. I hope this gets resolved soon idk what to do I just want to watch Chelsea games

Has anyone else been running into this issue for the Chelsea CFC+ app? Not sure where else I can even watch these games

Showing that I'm logged in and I can't access CFC+

Chelsea team response to my inquiry

Showing that i do indeed have an active subscription on my account

Showing an error even if I try to buy it again

What will it take to admit there is a serial killer on 264/664?

A 19 year old woman was shot and killed on the highway at 4am on her way to work yesterday

Every time this happens it reinforces my belief that we have a straight up serial killer that is shooting people on 264 and 664.

And every time I express my belief, a horde of people arrive to shut me down.

My question: Exactly how many random interstate murders is it going to take before law enforcement and the public even consider the idea of a serial killer?

How are some of the KN happenings (in the US) actually possible?

Sorry if this has been endlessly asked in the past.

Some of the things that happen on this show (in the US) just seem impossible.

To be on this show, you have to apply to be on it...right? Then you find out you're picked. Then they set a time to come in and shoot. They come in, set up lights, microphones everything. Then gordon comes in on a day you know he's coming for a taste test. You know this show is going to be broadcast repeatedly around the world. You know that Gordan Ramsay is probably the most famous chef in the entire world.

How do you serve him rotten meat? Or another example was a chef dropping meat on the floor while cooking and picking it up and putting it on the plate. He knows that there are 5 cameras pointed at him with lights and a production staff while he's doing this. How could this happen? It just dosn't seem possible. Maybe i'm just so naive but....some of the huge monumental insane things that some of these people do don't make any sense in the context of knowing that the show is coming/is there in the resturant. Please help me understand

What Marathon is all about

TL;DR: A long-winded story of me showing Marathon to a group of friends that encapsulates (to me) what the game is all about and I am compelled to share with you all and hopefully any devs who peruse this forum.

I have a big video game background. The games I have the most hours in are Overwatch and Deep Rock Galactic which probably explains why I find Marathon so compelling. But I didn't used to think so....sometimes in my life, the things that I initially don't like at all are the things I end up loving the most.

I kept only a cursory glance at Marathon during the development and I wasn't really keen to pay attention to the 'drama' or whatever that was around the Alpha release of the game. I never got into Destiny and I enjoyed halo and the multiplayer deathmatch type of gameplay that came with it. I enjoyed AR when it came out, but something about people pretending to be nice and then killing me made me drop off the game. I also didn't really like how quests in AR didn't do anything for your progression and gave you crappy items. I didnt love spending an entire match just picking up plastic parts, or how long it took me to craft/put together a loadout in between games.

So the server slam came out and I played Marathon for maybe an hour, but in a perimeter game I was all of a sudden surrounded by smoke and then unceremoniously knifed by an assassin. I decided I didnt want to have this experience again and I got a refund from the game.

The game came out in earnest and a few of my friends were playing and I downloaded it again. After a few games, I again realized that I didn't want to subject myself to looking at the creepy alien eyes opening/closing visuals during the loading screen and got a refund again.

Fast forward to about 3 weeks before Season 1 ended and I decided to grab the game one more time just to spend time and play with a buddy of mine who was hard stuck on it...and man I got hooked. Ever since then, Marathon is a game that I not only play every single day but I think about every single day. I soak up all of the content I can find, from streamers to youtube guides etc. I absolutely adore this game. One of the things I loved the most about AR was the solo mode - I love how you have to be 100% in tune with the game and it occupies your entire mind from when you load in until the round ends, and Marathon delivers this experience 100x better in spades.

You all may have seen me post a few times on this sub, my biggest posts all have to do with me complaining about how hard the game is and how I die all the time. However I want you all to know that after I made those posts, I went through a streak of good games right after but in classic human/reddit fashion I declined to update my posts saying that I am killing it in the game and having fun. But thats how it is.

Now, this preamble is all about letting you guys know about an experience i had with Marathon and why its probably one of the most exciting and fun games I've ever played in my entire life. My wife dosn't mind that I play video games but she didnt really understand Marathon so much. I have a set up in my living room where I can duplicate my PC monitor to my big TV on the other side of the room so we can broadcast streaming or games from the PC to the couch when we have friends over and things like that.

Last night i had about 11 people over at my house for a big impromptu get together/pizza party. We were playing this fun rhythm game for a while and all of a sudden my wife says "Why don't you play Marathon and play it on the TV so we can all watch!"

I reply with "ehhh nobody wants to watch this" sheepishly and shes like "no no no you need to play it we are all going to watch and tell us about the game'. So I say "ok so this is a game made by the people who made Halo. It's actually doing really bad right now, about less than 10% of the player base since the game came out..." and someones like "you're not doing a good job selling this game lol" so I said ok let me just show you the game, because visually its amazing and the gameplay is incredible.

So I load up the game and start talking about the story. About how its in the future, there's a huge planet colony ship on the way to colonize another planet but humanity loses contact. Many years later, a distress beacon comes from the ship and you are a hired mercenary that is broadcasting your consciousness into 3D printed (by ai silkworms) bodies to race to get loot, find out information, sabotage etc before the world government can get their hands on the ship.

I show them a few of the shells and the cosmetics and I decide to jump into a game. keep in mind that I have the audio broadcasting on my speakers so the rest of the group can hear but I am not wearing headphones this entire time, something I told them is decidedly a huge impairment on being able to play the game properly.

So I grab destroyer and load into perimeter with a free loadout in solo mode. I am wandering around North Relay and just describing what I am doing while I am doing it. They ask questions about the gameplay and I tell them about the static map (but with random events and item spawns), about exfilling and things like that. I see another player in the middle of the field and we have a clumsy fight but I down him.

"How many lives does the other player have?" Someone asked and i smirked and said, no lives. Right now I just sent him back to the menu and I get his entire loot. Everything he picked up, everything he brought with him, I get it all. After I pick through his bag (he had junk), another player appears and he downs me after a fight. "There, now this person is going to pick through all of my stuff and thats how the game is working". Someone at the party remarked "i couldn't play a game like this it would be too stressful or I would just get pissed at the world" - we all laughed.

So I grab a 4k green sponsored kit and load back into perimeter. I make a bee-line towards Hauler and all of a sudden the familiar jingle rings out: someone opened a key room. I explain about what a key is and that its a big event. Not only are keys hard to come by and are rare, but the person looting it has to gear up in order to survive getting to the keyroom, looting the room, and getting out with the loot. And because of the loud jingle, other opportunistic people like myself are going to be trying to steal that persons loot. As I get closer I realize I'm pretty sure this might be the gold key room on the second floor of Hauler that was opened. Because I am with a green sponsored kit and playing out of speakers, I kind of don't really care about whats happening and in a lackadaisical fashion just storm into Hauler and race to the second floor. I didn't really think that this was the actual room that was open but lo and behold, I peeked around the corner of the hallway and saw one of the doors to the room was open.

"So there's undoubtedly someone in the keyroom shitting his pants right now and I'm going to go try and get him". I explained. And in pure marathon fashion I pulled out my knife and sprinted in there. I don't know how this happened, but an assassin was literally in mid-loot when I right clicked him once, he turned around and looked at me and I right-clicked him again. he died. I finished him.

I whoop and cheer and gleefully say "this dude is so incredibly pissed you guys, I ruined his day". I went to loot him and he had full gold and purple. A gold shield, purple everything else, a purple D54, a purple M77 and a suite of Panaceas, blue healing and ammo. "What I just picked up from this guy took many many hours" I said, and not only that but he had a gold key which I've only seen a few times in the 180+ hours I've played this game. I looted the room and got tons of gold everything with a purple backpack (that the player had on him) and left the room.

I looked at my friends. "Right now, I'm shitting my pants. I killed this guy who had so many hours worth of loot, and then I raided his key room and got all of the loot. Now, I have to make it out of here alive because I'm not the only one who is gunning for this key room."

I realized what was happening. A normal run with crappy loot suddenly turned into a high-stakes white-knuckle journey in about 60 seconds. I could feel my heart in my throat and my pupils widen. The party could see what was happening and fell silent, watching in rapt attention. Suddenly it was clear - I needed to get the fuck out of there."

I stood in a quiet corner listening for footsteps when I joyously said "SEE GUYS?! THIS IS WHAT THIS GAME IS ABOUT RIGHT NOW. Right now, I'm shitting my pants. I ruined that guys day. People are looking to ruin my day. If I make it out of here alive, I will have gained items that would have taken me many tens of hours to get, if that.

Long story short, I exfilled from a guarded ex-fil that spawned on top of me and left. I was elated and we all cheered. I couldn't believe that I did that.

"It literally dosn't ever go like that, usually I die in 2-3 minutes" I told them. I realized how incredibly fun this game is and I wanted to share this story that happened last night with you guys. Cheers

4 night Hokkaido leg of the trip - any suggestions

Hello, we are planning on flying out from Tokyo to somewhere in Hokkaido. We want to stay for 4 nights/5 days. We are a couple and then 3 friends that are all boys. We don't want to do onsen because we arent keen on getting naked with eachother. We don't want to do expensive resort vibes. The idea is to get a Lodging somewhere and do scenic drives, amazing food, maybe some museums, light hiking and nature. We are going to be there shortly before the ski season and we are not winter sports type of people either. For the other parts of our trip we will be in the urban areas so we want to go to more scenic nature things while still not being totally in the middle of nowhere so we can eat at yummy resturants etc

Current plan: Fly into New Chitose airport and rent a car.

Nights 1-2: Lodging in Otaru. Explore the canal, music box museum, get food, nikka yoichi distillery, kakizaki shoten, shakotan coast

Nights 3-4: Lodging in Niseko or Kutchan for mt yotei spring water, lake hill farm/milk kobo, soup curry, klake hangetsu hike

Day 5: Upopoy and then leave

Do you think for what we are looking for this is ok? Maybe there are other parts of hokkaido which are more interesting and wonderful? Let me know your thoughts

They should add a disclaimer in the game strongly recommending that you play with headphones

I personally think it's impossible to play this properly without wearing headphones. I think that surviving to extract depends on being able to properly hear other players. Think if you have someone who casually buys the game to see what's going on and dying relentlessly , they aren't going to put two or two together that the reason why they get jumped is because they can't hear the enemy or they don't understand how the enemy can hear them . I think that the game should put a disclaimer suggesting that people should play the game wearing headphones

This game is simply so difficult. Me and my friends die all the time. I'm not sure how much longer I'm going to take this before I quit

TL;DR - Skill Issue, but is it a game issue as well?

I've been having a great time with marathon until the past week or so. I have about 150 hours and I'm level 70. Literally me and my friends die about every single time we load into the game. It didn't used to be like that. I'm worried that the player base is so low that the only people left are the people who are extremely amazing at the game because how much can someone lose before they just quit? And believe me I am a huge proponent of this game and I really like it, but there has to be some kind of matchmaking to put people who are relatively at the same skill level together so you stand a chance. It's getting to the point where I am not wanting to play the game because I just die literally 14/15 times that I am playing.

It didnt used to be like that, every fight felt like one that I lost because I made a mistake or didn't understand the map well - or didn't pay attention to sound cues or whatever. But now its just.....relentless lasers on my head with no recourse

And yes you can say 'skill issue' but with like 7k people playing on steam - is it a skill issue or a game issue?

I want to like this game. I have soaked up tons of content and watched streamers. I want to enjoy the world they are building. But this method of delivering especially with not a hyper careful attention to match making is just making me not want to play anymore

Like I understand: you need to commit to this game to reap the rewards. And I've experienced the highs and lows of this game for sure. But its just getting to the point where if you just don't stand a chance for entire sessions at a time whats the point of trying anymore

Ticket Review: Pitchside Lounge at Dallas Stadium for Japan vs. Netherlands

TL;DR: Not worth it

My family splurged on the highest priced tier of tickets for this game.

Parking: The designated parking lot was on the other side of the entire arena. The people scanning the tickets were having a tough time with their devices so they literally waved us through after just glancing at my phone (but I made sure we were in the correct parking lot). It was a ton of walking to get to our proper gate from the lot (not good for my Dads knees). There were 3 diferent volunteers walking around with a sign saying 'VIP' and when we asked them things like "where do we go" or "where is our gate" literally all 3 of them had no clue...which is unbelievable

Entry: We waited in the wrong line for a couple of minutes until one member of our party scouted ahead. It was not explicit at all which line we were supposed to go in to get into the arena area. However it was very short once we figured it out until we went into the actual arena. A huge mob of people with a line not moving at all inside for about 20 minutes (this was 30 minutes after doors opened). Finally we were let into the arena and given a wristband and a 'gift card'.

Pitchside Lounge: It was a 2-sided area with each side having its own bar and catering area. In the middle was the 'hallway' where all the players would be coming out so you could watch them come out which was pretty cool.

The Food: Before the game it was pretty good. Fresh cut beef with sauce, a sweet cheesy cornbread, some bacon on a stick, stir fried vegetables, some chicken with sauce on it and a few other things. Was good. The food they brought around as Hors d'oeuvres was honestly pathetic. Think a tiny little tomato with a little piece of ham inside of it. But the food was good, the lines moved quickly and we were sitting down and sipping on drinks and eating. I was satisfied with the spread for sure.

The problem: 30 min before the game started they packed up all the food. During half time they brought out food but it literally was like microwaved fried balls of cheese from a box, crappy crusty bread and cheese and sauce. It was awful and kind of shocking that for thousands of dollars a ticket they would serve this. It was like this for the rest of the match, so if you happened to miss the food that was only served up until 30 minutes before the match, you would have missed the entire thing. Literally you got in line and it was like: Some salsa, some fried cheese/veggie ball (obviously from a box), some super tough fried dumpling thing I spit out after i took a bite (also frozen from a box), and individually wrapped cake bites. Unbelievable.

According to the ticket we were to have access to exclusive merch (separate from the 'gift') but after asking a bunch of people this did not materialize and nobody knew what I was talking about even after showing the ads to the managers saying that this was the case.

The gift was literally a little phone charger battery bank with like the fifa logo. Not something i would care at all about and maybe worth $5.00

Another part of Pitchside Lounge was able to meet 'special guests' - the only guest was someone who i believed was the manager of the Netherlands Team who made a short speech and then walked out of the room (nobody seemed to know/care who he was).

The seats were amazing and as you can see in a great spot.

All in all the tickets were NOT worth it at all. The food was pretty good but was taken away early and replaced with absolute cheap dogshit that would be served at a poor childs birthday party. Parking was on the far/other side of the stadium. We were supposed to also have some kind of concierge I believe which did not materialize at all.

Don't get pitchside lounge its bullshit, just spend half the money and get a good seat.

Anyone reading this who thinks i'm entitled in any way: if I'm paying north of $3k a person for seats I expect access to amazing food the entire time.

P.S. the game itself was amazing, all the people we met/sat next to were so nice and amazing company and even made some friends.
