Clogged up every night

5'10, 175 lb, 65F, thyroid meds, HBP med, statin, generic Zyrtec

Maybe silly but: Every night, one side of my sinuses will get stuffed up and often gets a bit uncomfortable, as it feels very full. If I roll to the other side, it moves to that side. When I shower, I always have to blow quite a bit to clear it up. My pillow is new and hypoallergenic, it happens whether the sheets are freshly laundered or not. I do take an allergy pill every night - is that making it worse by having my body dependent on it?

HELP! Extremely rough canvas

Help! A friend has a 13 mesh canvas from Friend of Mine and the canvas is SO ROUGH. She started using Silk & Ivory, but it turns into fuzz after two or three stitches. If the thread touches the canvas, it "catches" and leaves fuzz behind. Trying to think of ways to either smooth out the canvas or thread recommendations.

The Price of Denial

I was watching NBC's national news last night and they had a segment in their healthcare "Price of Denial" series. Guy had been on Zepbound (I think - it was a GLP) and lost the weight, so now his insurance won't cover it. He, like so many of us, quit snoring, lower BP, etc., etc. But now that he's a normal weight, no coverage. NBC stepped in and now he will be covered, but it highlights the problem we all face: if insurance DOES cover a GLP, as soon as they can, they quit covering it.

As I've mentioned before, I was prescribed a GLP by FOUR doctors, my weight was clinically obsese, but I have not had a heart attack and my A1C never got above 5.2, so insurance won't cover it. I went the compounded route - with my doctor's blessing - and the changes for my health are amazing. When will insurance companies recognize that the use of a GLP now - and staying on maintenance doses - will utlimately SAVE them money??

Don't forget to look at your state's unclaimed property site

I handle this for the company I work for, so very familiar with it. Every year or two, go to your state's unclaimed property site and look for your name. You should also check states you lived in previously.

We regularly report checks up to $5000. You will need to fill out a bit of paperwork, but you never know!

Each state has its own site, so search for "state unclaimed property". Make sure you go to the true state site, there's a lot of scammy companies that offer to do it for you "for a fee."

Best thread for wedding dress?

My daughter is getting married, I’m going to do this for her - what thread do you suggest for the dress? I don’t want to work with a satin, I’m afraid Neon Rays just wouldn’t be right.

Latest finish!

Love the way it turned out. This canvas is 30” x 12” and took me four and a half months to do. I was sooooo happy when the bargello wave pattern matched up!

Took too much ast week....

Sort of related to the variable dosing post: I took too much last week and spent the first two days feeling really sick, feverish, no appetite, etc. No appetite at all until today, which is shot day. My own fault, just spaced and drew up about 50% too much. This week I am dropping back to my "correct" dose. I assume this will be okay?

NSV - I climbed the hill

I have a trail I walk on regularly. It has an extremely steep hill (>200 foot elevation rise in less than 3/10 of a mile). A few months ago, I had to stop halfway up to catch my breath and rest. Today I made it from top to bottom without stopping!

Talk me down please

It is shot day, which means my suppression is low. I ate too much today and gave in to my old weakness, savory (Chex mix). A lot less than before, but I've been trying to avoid the high sodicum stuff. I know when I do my weekly weigh in tomorrow I won't have lost anything this week and I'm beating myself up.

I'll get back on it tomorrow, but today, I need a little encouragement.

ETA: Got up this morning and the scale was exactly where it was two days ago, so counting it as a win. Thank you all for your support and encouragement and reminding me it's a marathon, not a sprint.

New Siena

Scored in Last Chance. Can already tell they are going to be favorites. (My foot is pushed forward, they do fit)

Timing of Lights on Stadium Blvd

I live on north Stadium and commute in the direction of the University. Until about a month ago, once I got through the diverging diamond, I could count on making all the lights up to and through Broadway. Now, I have to stop at every.single.one. What is with the new timing???

Sizing rant

I'm 5'10", right at 190 now (down from high of 223). Went to get a new summer dress at Loft because they have 50% off this weekend. Their sizing says an XL is a 16, but all my 16s are falling off me. But apprently 'm still an XL, mostly because of the booberonies.

I'm making so much progress but that XL really made me feel bad about myself again

It was just nice. . . .

Last night, my stitching group got together and three of us are on GLPs. It was nice to just be able to talk to them about it and not have to feel like it was an issue. Bonus: I told them about online providers so they can continue to afford it!
