2015 just shut off while starting and now have no electrical power.

Just curious if this has happened to anyone while I wait for AAA.

I was leaving the movies, pushed in the clutch and pressed start. It started to power up than just shut down. Now it has no power at all.

I did just get it serviced about two weeks ago for the "charging system harness" since electrical stuff was flickering whenever it would idle or when I had the clutch in. I'm highly suspicious that has something to do with it.

Question for the mountain bikers in the area.

I'm looking at getting a MTB once it cools off in a few months. I don't plan on on going crazy with stuff like jumps but do want to get out and ride on the dirt. Will I be fine with a hardtail bike or is the extra cost of a full suspension worth it?

What's going around Old Town today?

Just rode by on my bike on my way home after work and there were cars and people everywhere. People were jamming the intersections on Green and honking. It seems like some kind of event or something must be going on.

The sky looked so cool when I left work tonight!

It was also much cooler today which made for nice relaxing bike ride home as the sun set

Rally Beetle on the dirt!

I love this little MF01X chassis, shame the front bumper is so fragile. I had to ditch it.

Built with oil filled shocks, ball bearings, and a Torque Tuned motor.

Micro Bronco flies as great as it looks!

Kind of wish it had a little more speed but otherwise I'm very happy with this plane. It's flies super smooth and on my maiden flight I was already doing inverted flight! Oddly mine also didn't need an mechanical or radio trim.

Men who never went to college, what are you making hourly and what do you for work? Do you ever plan on going to school?

Just curious where everyone is at. I'm 33 and just got promoted to a banquet captain at a private club (think country club) back in January. I also do a few server shifts in the restaurant when the banquets are slow. I was a little annoyed they put me at $29 for captain shifts but left me at $26 for my server shifts.

Apparently they are happy with me since they just raised me to $32 for both captain shifts and my server shifts as well. It's not a massive amount since I live in southern California but when I left my last job back in October '24 I was making just $21.50 an hour so I'm very glad I came to my current spot.

What kind of jobs are other guys who never went to college doing in their 30s? Do you plan on ever getting into a more "legit" career or going to school?

Personally I'm tempted to get some schooling so I can eventually get a degree in hospitality so I can get into banquet management if I ever leave my current club. My current manager who is my friend doesn't have one but I know it'll probably be needed if I go elsewhere.

What books are you guys reading?

Just got a small e-reader and have been liking it so far. I haven't really read in years and this portable format is a game changer. I'm currently re-reading Sphere by Michael Crichton because he is my favorite author (I've read all his books from when he was alive)

I also got some from Daniel Suarez and John Scalzi because I heard they are also great sci-fi authors. In the past I've read some Halo books, Witcher books, Shakespeare, some series for young adults as a teen, some classics like the Great Gatsby and the LOTR books.

The Murderbot Diaries and the Expanse are also my radar.

What kind of books are you guys reading? I'm tired of spending so much time scrolling Reddit and YouTube shorts so I'm looking at getting back into reading.

Did a major dumb thumb today. I was going to do a low and fast inverted loop and for some reason I pulled the stick like it was a regular loop.

No excuses besides having a bit of a brain fart. I really loved this Decathlon 1.2m, it was only the 4th time I took it to the field as well. I may fix it but I'm not set on it yet.

Felt really nostalgic for my old expo and food runner roles tonight.

I'm currently a banquet captain and occasional a la carte server at a private club. Tonight my party was done and I noticed a la carte was slammed in the kitchen. I took of my suit jacket and started running food.

I was a FOH expo for like a decade at my last job and a food runner for a bit before that. While I say I hate it now being on the FOH side of the line and experiencing a major rush it gave me a huge wave of nostalgia.

No point to this post really, I just wanted to let the out to people who understand. The thought of even offering to do an expo shift even crossed my mind but I'm not gonna open that can of worms and will keep that to myself.

What kind of e bikes do others ride in your area? Just curious.

I notice vast majority of people are using Chinese brands but I've seen a decent amount of Lectric, and Gotrax riders. Just a couple of Aventons, and I've seen some older folks on Treks and Specialized bikes. I even saw a Lectric trike the other day and have seen a few cargo bikes as well.

Small upgrades for my Bronco and K10 today!

I added on brass knuckles to both. I gave the Bronco Injora 26mm shocks and put new wheels on it. The K10 got new wheels and tires.

I drove the Bronco already and I'm very happy with the shocks so far

Do you worry about the low times when on a self improvement kick? Like you can't fully enjoy feeling better because you worry about falling again?

I've been on a kick to feel better. I was in a rut and put on some weight so I've lost weight (30 pounds so far!), got an e bike, and have being going more places on my days off.

I've been feeling great and even getting like 7-8 hours of sleep instead of just 3-4. But I feel like I can't enjoy it because I know eventually I'll fall back into a rut. I've gone through these ups and downs all my life and now a few week away from 33 I know this high won't be forever.

Is this a normal part of being in my 30's? I feel doomed to have these ups and downs and I hate the darkness of my downs. I hesitate to use the word depression since I've never gotten diagnosed but I've felt like that's what it is and others have been concerned about it in the past.

Love driving this TRX4M

I think the only Defender parts left are the ESC, motor, trans, and axles. I've been driving my 1/24s and 1/30s so this felt huge lol

Combined my RC hobby with ebiking today! Also hit 200 miles with my Xpress 2.

Day off and I decided to do a nice 10 mile ride for lunch. I brought along some micro RC crawlers and on the way back I stopped to explored a park I've gone past but never checked out. I ended up finding some cool tree roots in a nice shady spot to crawl at.

Now I'm considering getting a crate for the back so I can carry larger RCs and find more places to run them.

How much do shops usually charge for labor?

I know answers may vary but I'm curious what you guys pay for service. I have an Xpress 2 and love it but the derailleur has troubles shifting down (I haven't lubed the chain yet but will once it arrives tomorrow or Tuesday) and the brakes rub sometimes. I want to bring my bike in for those issues and just to give it a look over as I'm near 200 miles and want to make sure I get plenty more miles from it down the line.

Great deal for Gorgon/Quake Groms, the stock wheels in the yellow and pink colored rims are also the same price

Just thought I'd share

This apartment building I walked by looks like it has balconys, but it doesn't.

The spent money putting up a fence but no floor or access. It's just a spot to hide the ACs
