Hi I’m new to using Linux Mint (used to have Ubuntu for around half a year) and I’m looking for a few things.

A launcher that would look similar to the Wii menu and how to make it start on startup

How to replace the boot logo?

Is there anything similar to Rainmeter for Windows?

And a good launcher for old school roms (4th-5th gen consoles), I’m assuming retroarch would be my best bet?

Is there any easy way to replace the cursors and such and have it stay (had the issue on Windows and couldn’t figure it out when I had Ubuntu)

Dell Optiplex 3050 Micro
I5-7500T
8gb ram (hopefully 16gb by this weekend)
500gb SATA III SSD

Hi I have a Dell Optiplex 3050 MFF with 2x4gb of DDR4 ram, a 1tb hard drive, and an Intel I5-7500T (I think).

I’m getting ahold of a set of 2x8gb of ram sticks, a 512gb nvme for the OS and basic apps.

It’s running Ubuntu 24.04 and is used for storing media and watching it using VLC and running Firefox (may switch to Opera GX to see if it’ll reduce the load)

Right now it runs slower than I expect it to with it feeling like it takes minutes to catch up to input, which is wireless btw but nothing should be interfering with that as it is maybe 3-6 feet away with nothing in between the PC and it.

Am I missing anything important to try and upgrade besides maybe the processor?

Oh and do yall know if it would run a small minecraft server or play the jackbox party games?

Hi, I’m 22 and am trying to start a YouTube and when I have recorded my voice in the past and now it’s high pitched and awkward like generic high school nerd stereotype high pitched and it’s always irritated me in the past and now is effecting me in other stuff like conversation with friends and at my job (I’m a gas station cashier). Is there any exercises I can do to change my voice and make it deeper or subconsciously make me speak deeper?

Any help is appreciated or other subreddits to post this to are welcome!
