How much do graphic designers earn here in edmonton?

I have 8 years of experience in the industry and work as a professional video editor. I currently work for a marketing agency, which has been my first job in Canada since immigrating here, and I’ve been with the company for 3 years.

My current wage is $27/hour. Given my experience level, would this be considered low, average, or competitive for the industry?

For additional context, my performance reviews have been positive, and I have a good relationship with my employer. My manager is happy with my work and values the contributions I make to the team.

Where do locals buy their street styles clothes?

Ive been staying in taoyuan, Ive seen lot of locals in their 20s-30s wearing these baggy and oversized clothes. It’s pretty cool and matched my style. Where are they mostly getting these kind of clothes here? Or will taipei have a better options?

I just got my PR and now i wanna stay with my mom in asia for a year. Will my status be okay?

I moved to Canada in 2021 as a student and received my permanent residency in September 2025 in Alberta.

I’m planning to stay in Taiwan with my mom for about a year starting next January, then return to Canada afterward to continue meeting my residency requirements toward Canadian citizenship. One of the main reasons for this trip is that my mom is getting older, and I want to spend quality time with her while she’s still active and able to travel around comfortably.

My employer is open to allowing me to work remotely during that time, but I’m unsure how this would affect my taxes, employment situation, and permanent resident status in Canada.

Would leaving Canada for about a year create any complications for my PR status or future citizenship eligibility if I return afterward?
