Who’s editing & releasing the episodes?

The show does a good job at making their world feel like part of real life, as if it was an authentic reality show. But as the Abbott lore goes, they’re being followed and filmed by a college age(?) independent camera crew. So in their universe, who’s edited and releasing the episodes? Like who’s production and how are we watching the show? Especially cause in S2E7 they make jokes about buying Hulu without ads as I’m watching on Hulu without ads lol so like, is their universe OURS? Like is it in reality or a separate universe that also includes Hulu? Lol but then also that still begs the question of how we’re viewing/able to view the episodes the camera crew is presumably releasing and airing?? If they’re a small independent camera crew how in the world did they get a reality show about public school teachers in a less financially stable district to air?

My whole world crossed the Rainbow Bridge tonight & life will never be the same

Woke up this morning in hopes to bring my senior kitty Macavity aka Crispy aka Miss Cavity aka Little Lion aka Stinky aka Buggy aka Boog aka Kitten aka Sweet Baby Angle (yes Angle) to the vet to get some bloodwork done. Ended up putting her down less than 10 hours later. I haven’t felt this inconsolable for longer than I can remember. The hole I feel in my heart seems like it will never be filled. What’s worse is I think my bf Ryan loved her more than I did. We only had her a short 2.5 years. She belonged to my sister Caitlin until she got sick and passed away in 2020 due to alcoholism. Our little stink bug ended up going to our sister Megan for a few years. She had two rambunctious dogs and a toddler which Maca didn’t enjoy too much. So she was banished to the basement (mind you a very large basement with lots of hiding spots and longing spots. Half walkout so there were lower windows with lots of light. But a basement nonetheless.) So in her best interest she came to live with my bf and I, no other pets and all the attention. The first year was probably the best year. We got to know her quickly and she opened up more than I’d ever seen her open up before. She has such a big personality. She never let on that she was obsessed with the attention but you should have seen her when she wanted it; pawing at our faces while we slept, pur-meow combo, almost like a trill when she wanted to cuddle and a the softest little “mew” when she didn’t wanna seem too needy. But we were always happy to oblige. We had another good year with her but noticed she wasn’t the same, even after such a short amount of time in hindsight. But come to find out she was dealing with hyperthyroidism which caused her to have a heart murmur. My bf and I were only able to keep up with three months of meds and one bloodwork screening. She seemed to be fine during and after treatment. It wasn’t until this summer I felt something was wrong. There weren’t clear signs or symptoms. I thought I was just being paranoid and my bf just thought I was being dramatic (which I usually am) until this last week, we noticed she was breathing a bit heavy. She seemed like she was having a hard time getting a good deep breath. Deep down I knew why but we gave it a day or two until we went back to the vet to get her the meds she was on this winter. All in all it was too late. She seemed to get a bit better after a few doses but we were only prolonging the inevitable. Her chest and lungs were filled with fluid and her heart was failing. She lost 3 pounds in 8 months. I knew it was bad but I wasn’t prepared for that. Vet recommended we put her to sleep then and there but we weren’t ready at all; we didn’t get a chance to prepare in anyway, we didn’t get to give her a good last day, etc. Thankfully the vet was able to give her a sedative to calm her down while we brought her home and spoiled her and snuggled her one last time. But it was time. After we got home and tried getting her comfy while we tried calming down, it was only a few hours until she started struggling a little more than we were comfortable with. Not that her struggling made either of us comfortable to begin with. But sometimes she was better than others over the last week so we trusted that she’d let us know if she needed something bc she always did. Part of me regrets not getting her last day with her while she was still in her right mind but I know she was at least not so stressed out. We gave her pumpkin purée and whip cream and a burger from Burger King. Some tuna and ice cream. Some grilled chicken and some all natural salmon treats. She ate to her hearts content and was able to get comfy in the window a couple times even if she was struggling to breathe. We took family pics with her and then it was time to go. I’ll never forget her. She was the last living piece of my sister and I’m so glad I got to spend the last few years of her life with her. She was the best company. People don’t understand cats are solitary and so if they’re spending their time sleeping and relaxing near you or even with you, that’s their way of showing you they want you around. She wasn’t clingy by any means. In fact like I said she pretended like she didn’t even like the attention or affection. But the second either of us would stop loving on her she give us this look of “um hello did I say you were done?” She had her limits and boundaries but she always let us push them just a little. Because I just know she knew how much it meant to us. It was her way of saying “I love you too” at least I’d like to think that. We’d catch her longingly staring at us and look away the second we’d catch her. She’d pretend she was never even looking our way but the other would always notice and point it out. She IS the best fucking cat ever. I don’t know how to do life without her. My bf doesn’t know how to do life without her. She was already 12/13 when we got her, but I always thought she’d slowly stop eating and drinking so much, or using the little box as often or being so energetic. The way she’d get zoomies after a good meal or a bathroom break. Or maybe her hearing and vision would start fading. Anything but this. I woke up thinking I was gonna be prolonging my cats life but ended up having to say goodbye by the end of the day. It was definitely, probably, incomparably, the hardest goodbye I’ve ever had to deal with. RIP my beautiful sweet girl. We’ll never forget you and we’ll always love you. Say hi to Caycay for me and give her lots of snuggles.

My cat has a heart murmur and is getting worse.

TLDR; my senior kitty needs extra help that my partner and I can’t afford in the slightest. Quality of life is decreasing for the three of us and I have decision paralysis.

Back in December my 14yo kitty Macavity was diagnosed with a heart murmur and possibly thyroid issues. Since then, slowly, but as of recently more progressively, she has lost weight. She was 8 lbs when we brought her in December and I doubt she’s anymore than 6 lbs atm. Her breathing has become strained and very heavy. She seems to be have a hard time breathing therefore being unable to relax. I know I need to address this sooner than later but I’m financially unable to care for her so I know I’m only prolonging her suffering. I have no clue what to do. She uses the litter box just fine and the schedule hasn’t changed much. She’s still very food motivated and although she eats less in quantity she is still eating at her normal frequency. My partner and I been giving her more treats in attempt to make up for her weight loss. She used to have a big ole pooch that would sway when she’d run to the door to greet us. Now it’s barely there and her hips stick out quite a lot. I feel awful, like a failure as a cat dad and I’m scared and worried for all of our futures. If we’re unable to financially care for her the way she needs, her condition will only get worse and I fear we won’t get to say goodbye properly. I hardly leave my house when I don’t have work so I can be with her as much as possible. I have awful vivid dreams about her being sick or dying. I have such severe anxiety over leaving her alone when I have to and have had multiple panic attacks over it. And this is all when she was still newly diagnosed. Now it’s just gotten worse and I’m paralyzed by any decision I have to make. I know I’ll have to put her down one day but if I’m able to prolong her life and keep her happy and comfy until it’s time then I’d rather do anything in my power to do so…I just don’t have to power :/
I only work part time and have worsening agoraphobia so that’s why I don’t have the money and my partner is recently unemployed. We both live paycheck to paycheck. We can hardly take care of ourselves let alone a vet bill..
I had CareCredit but completely forgot to pay my bills so my account was closed and I have an astronomical payment to make now. I’m aware there are programs and memberships that allow me to pay overtime or give me discounts but I have exactly $5.01 sent in my checking account and $3 something in my savings. I can hardly make a payment to a fast food restaurant right now.
I’m worrying and spiraling and I want my kitty to be okay. Sorry for the long post. I’d just love any advice or support or stories from any and everyone. Thanks :/

Why was the full moon’s reflection more inhibiting than actually looking at it?

It always seems like the girls were able to maintain composure a bit better when they solely looked at the full moon but when they saw any reflection of it whether it was off water or something shiny, they went full trance mode??? It was consistent enough that it didn’t seem like a plot hole but it was never explained even by Miss Chatham why the reflection of a full moon was more “persuasive” if you will, over directly looking into it??

Gemini sun, Capricorn moon, Leo rising; why am I so antisocial???

Just like the title says, and my Mercury is in Gemini…yet I LOVE my alone time and would rather not interact with my family or friends. Even my boyfriend of 10 years. I’m non-binary (28M), love my Gemini-ism’s but I find myself loving my alone time lately; no socializing, no texts, no phone calls. I AM bipolar + ADHD but I’ve been medicated for both for the last 4 years. It’s not that I want to be more social, I just want to be less antisocial lol. Any ideas/tips? Any advice as to why I’d be so antisocial with a Mercury in Gemini????

Could the girls see clearly underwater?

I’ve always wondered what their experiences were like underwater since when we go underwater, we can’t see clearly at all; maybe we can make out certain objects etc but I wonder if the girls could see clearly in their mermaid form compared to how a human would see stuff underwater? Was their vision just as blurry as ours would be or could they say way more clearly since they were essentially marine creatures?

Growing up is realizing Charlotte was poorly socialized and just wanted friends.

(28M) Rewatching H2O for the trillionth time and I have always HATED Charlotte, I hated her storyline and was so happy to see her leave, season 2 got better after she left. Well now I see it through a whole different lens; all she wanted was a boy she thought was cute and to feel a sense of belonging in a girl group. The trio were kinda mean to her all because Cleo is so petty and immature she couldn’t just have a conversation with Charlotte about Lewis. I admit Charlotte is a weirdo but I truly think she just wanted to feel wanted. Although I’d love to read any discourse lol so let me know what you think!

Anybody else experience depressive episodes while taking alprazolam?

I’ve been prescribed .5mg’s of alprazolam to take as needed for my panic attacks and social anxiety. I usually take 1mg because I’m a bigger guy with a slow metabolism so it takes longer for the meds to kick in and the .5mg dose isn’t enough. I’ve been on this “regimen” of sorts for about two years now and although the ALP works great for my anxiety, I find that after a few hours my mood starts to dip and I feel, well…a bit hopeless I guess is the only way to put it. I got in contact with a psychiatrist because I was tired of letting my depression and anxiety run my life. I was apathetic towards everything. Not suicidal but not excited for life either; I had a very poor and negative outlook on everything. After I started treatment with Effexor I started to have a more positive outlook on life but my anxiety never dissipated. Eventually I was out on Vyvanse for my ADHD which has been a godsend in my adult life. Yet I still have my moments and need to take a Xanax. It’s turning into a cycle though: I take my Xanax and now that within the next several hours my mood is gonna dip and I’m gonna have my negative apathetic depressive episode. It’s practically guaranteed. I haven’t spoken to my doctor about this as I don’t have insurance at the moment and I never really recognized the pattern until recently. Has anyone else experienced anything like this? I know medications are just tools and I’m the one who has to put in the work but it’s difficult when your brain is making you feel so down.

What I wanna know is how Elizabeth sensed the pirates, in the Curse of the Black Pearl, at the same time as Will and Jack?

This is the OG post that I found while searching for my answer. So it’s confirmed Elizabeth was already aware of the pirates code. Perhaps from being out at sea or perhaps from her father or life on Port Royal but regardless, how did she sense the impending invasion at the exact same time as the “real” pirates??

Tiki Party Attire?

So my bff is throwing a homecoming/newlywed party this weekend and it’s tiki themed. What in the hell do I wear lol. Would it be weird to wear a fun bathing suit and tie-dye t shirt? I’m assuming lei’s will be there to wear but unless I break out a coconut bra I have no clue what to wear. And I’m a 275 pound man so I highly doubt I’ll look good hahahaha. Any thoughts or tips??

Dabs v. Flower?

Hello all!
I have a question and would love as many tips, thoughts, and as much advice as possible!

So I’m 28, been smoking flower since I was 16.
For a good long while I always enjoyed smoking, especially out of glass; more of a bong, bowl, bubbler type of smoker although I’ll never pass up a J or blunt. However over the last 4-5 years I’ve had the most amount of trouble smoking. I DO have asthma and have been smoking cigs, switched to vaping, since I was 16 as well. I know a lot of stoners who rarely vape/smoke nicotine and solely stick to carts, dry herb vapes, blunts, bowls, etc etc. Part of me always knew I should probably pick one or the other especially if my lungs aren’t working at capacity to begin with.
Well eventually, when I was introduced to dabs, I was all in! Until recently, the last 6-8 months or so, I can’t dab for the life of me. No matter what form of concentrate or way of ingesting I cough my heart, lungs and soul out. Love the rush, hate the process and the aftermath. I’d rather just stick to flower. It just doesn’t seem worth it to me. But now that I’m getting a bit older I’m sick of wreaking like weed all the time, the stench of smoke in my hair clothes and car, and I wonder if I should transition solely to dabs. I have a few different ways of dabbing; glass rig and torch, G-Pen and E-nectar collectors. My only problem is, is that I cough and cough and cough…. And COUGH. If the temp on anything is too low I feel like I wasted product and barely get buzzed, but if it’s too hot I’m only hurting myself. I know dabs are “healthier” since it’s vaporized instead of burned. But would switching over to concentrates and saying goodbye to flower be worth it for someone who can hardly, enjoyably dab? Don’t get me wrong I love edibles but I have a binge eating disorder and lack of self control lol. 1-2 edibles would turn into 5 very quickly even if they’re gummies…I mean who doesn’t love a fruity little snack that also gets you baked???
I’m not willing to give up weed in any form because it only benefits me aside from destroying my lungs. Any tips for a guy struggling to enjoy getting high?

What determines our preference on mattress firmness??

Obviously a bed is a bed and I don’t think anyone can complain about sleeping in one but why do some people prefer clouds over stone slabs? I LOVE a firm mattress, even with lower my back pain & I’m a stomach sleeper…but after having a couple memory foam mattresses (Casper and another I can’t remember) I felt like I was sinking and suffocating. My partner on the other hand loves a cushy mattress and luckily our mattress is a good in-between but I know he’d prefer a softer mattress. Seems like such a weird thing that we all have a preference for, where does that come from???

Can we all finally admit allergies are entirely debilitating

Luckily I haven’t ended up in the hospital in a while (knock on wood) but the way in which I’d be hospitalized at least twice a year with pneumonia, sinusitis or bronchitis, all because of my allergies. One time I was at an ENT and he immediately admitted me to the ER bc I was grey from a lack of oxygen 😭
Of course being sick is way different than seasonal allergies but why does no one talk about how incredibly debilitating allergies can be?
Aside from ending up in the hospital, I’ve scratched myself bloody because pollen for whatever reason causes my skin to crawl, I’ve nearly avoided several car accidents from sneezing fits or over active dry eyes blurring my vision, working in the food industry isn’t the best environment for sneezing and coughing even if it’s just irritation and not a virus. I’ve begged my parents to let me stay home because of how congested dry and itchy I’ve been while in school.
Now as an adult I just have to grin and bear it and make sure I stay on top of my allergy meds. But the slightest deviation I’m back to looking like a puff pastry with the itchiness of a chicken pox patient 😭 pls tell me I’m not alone??

ELI5: Why do the way fragrances smell on somebody vary so much even in immediate family?

My Mom’s favorite perfumes are all very gourmandy vanillas and they smell incredible on her! If I try them they smell like BO. Same with my sibling. But my sibling smells amazing in very sweet, fruity scents that come across as cloying on my Mom and I. I smell best in light floral scents that smell like dirt on my Mom and booze on my sibling. I would assume that skin chemistry would be fairly similar in people who are related but none of us could borrow the others’ scents. Does it have to do with the microbiome on peoples skin, genetics, or is it a combination of factors? Do identical twins have the same scent profiles?
