Delays on California Zephyr eastbound

how common are delays between Bay Area and Tahoe/Reno. And how long are they? Is it advisable to ride Zephyr for this trip, or Capitol Corridor+bus?

Is it not allowed in India for a governor to invite a party leader to form a minority government? Does it always have to be a majority government? In other parliamentary democracies, the head of state can invite the leader of the largest party to form a minority government. It will be difficult to get legislation passed, but it’s technically possible.

Asking as a Tamilian not from India, but follows the politics.

Will be taking BART into the city from the east bay. From here what should i do next?

Should switch to metro and go to Forrest Hill or Castro then hike it? or is there a bus line?

This is the MTC’s and ABAG’s new development plan for the Bay Area. I thought these were some interesting pages regarding transit that they have included.

As we can see, there are no new projects they are proposing. The only rail expansion here is Valley Link, SMART extension and BART extension. eBART extension is also absent.

However it says they want to increase frequency for Caltrain and ACE Train, the later of which I haven’t heard of them doing.

It also seems there’s a lot of planning for new rapid and BRT corridors, especially in the East Bay like in Berkeley and Richmond. I wonder if that will be true BRT or just rapid buses.

There i said it. It’s only 4.5 miles long with tons of street running segments meaning it’ll be very slow. plus it only connects a bus transit station to a train station. i don’t see ridership being incredible.

OCTA should have done this instead:

- continue regular bus routes for this trip or run a shuttle bus service

- keep pushing for the Central Line LRT. Connecting UC Irvine, John Wayne Airport, Disneyland, hotels, offices, Santa Ana MetroLink and Anaheim MetroLink would be a WAY more popular route for LRT.

- Partner with LA Metro to make a BART style heavy rail commuter rail line down the ROW the OF Streetcar is going to use. Run it from Santa Ana all the way into LA County, connecting to LA Metro lines. The result? a new train in the middle to Orange County (not just the north). It will provide mass transit options for 405 commuters, a rail link to LAX, be fast (if stops are limited to around every 4 miles), reduce freeway traffic, etc. And it will offer a second rail link between LA and OC that doesn’t involve traveling to the northern parts of these counties to access metrolink stations.
