IBR Recert Deadline different than anniversary date?

I’m honestly getting pretty tired of this stuff. my anniversary date (shown on both student aid and mohela is in mid august.

I just received a letter from Mohela in my online account that my deadline for IBR recertification is over a month prior to that in mid July.

What is going on here? why are these dates different? I figured my recertification would be due by my anniversary date.

This is so aggravating and on top of that, I made a post prior, I need to manually recertify because the auto recert failed.

Baby shifts head to same side no matter what we do.

Title says it all. Our baby is a month old today. (he was born at 34+4.) no matter what we do, he always shifts his head the same way, sleeping, laying on us, etc. we try every time to face him the other way, but he eventually works his way back to the same position.

Weve seen the pediatrican twice, and mentioned how he really only wants to lay on one side. she checked him out and said head shape is fine and neck muscles don’t appear to be tight.

This morning, I noticed his skull feels a little different on the side he lays on, as opposed to the other side ( you can feel something on this side that you can’t on the other side)

We are struggling with this because it’s hard to believe it’s not eventually going to be an issue, and we have no way to correct it at home, he just keeps turning his head back

In Repayment. Small Difference in payment amounts between FSA and Mohela.

maybe this is just my paranoia with student loans, but my payment through Mohela is 4 to 5 dollars higher than what FSA says my payment is.

what would cause this discrepancy and is there anything to be done? or just ignore it

IBR Recertification. Has anyone figured out why they can’t automatically do it (I gave consent), and why I got an urgent email to recertify 4 months early?

Title says it all. I got off the save limbo last summer; and my recert is the end of August.

I gave consent to pull taxes yearly. I got an email recently that they were unable to pull that information, and that I needed to manually recertify ASAP.

What is going on with this? I don’t want to submit alternative documentation, because that will make my payment higher. I want them to use my most recently filed tax return, which they should be doing.

Am I going to be able to do this online? The implication is I’m going to need to submit pay stubs or something dated within 60 days, which seems unbelievably unfair because I should be able to use 2025 tax return.

Any advice or path forward?

Sleep patterns for premie, now 38 weeks

Our son was born at 34+4 and spent nearly 3 weeks in the NICU. He is 38+1 now, so approaching a month old, actual.

How do people here handle sleep? he’s up every 1.5-2 hours at night, possibly even more frequently. we change, feed, and put back down. however, this process takes 45 mins and by the time we’re back in bed, we’re lucky to sleep for an hour.

We are exhausted, and considering shifts.

Interestingly, he seems to “rest” for much longer periods during the day. sometimes he will sleep for a few hours on us, or in bassinet in the family room.

Any advice would be appreciated. we knew it would be hard, but we thought he might sleep more than 90 minutes at a time

my understanding of the birthday rule is that if a newborn is added as a dependent on both parents insurance, the parent with the earlier month birthday would be the primary payer.

However, in a different thread last night, I was told the birthday rule can force coverage to a certain parents insurance. is this true?

I did not think insurance could force the hand of which parents plan child is put on, that seems inssne to me.

Our baby is in the NICU and we added him to my wife’s insurance and I am maintaining my individual coverage for the remainder of the year. We will all move to mine during open enrollment next year.

Am I in for a fight? I just refuse to believe we don’t have a choice where to add him, so long as we both didn’t add him.

My wife and I both have held seperate health insurance policies. my son was born early and has been and will continue to be in the NICU.

Ive been low on sleep, and combing both policies for which one is the best add.

We decided on adding him to my wife’s insurance late this week.

tonight, I realized I may have misunderstood a provision in my policy about co insurance. in that case; my insurance is the far better one to add my son too, and could save us thousands of dollars.

We are well within her 30 day Qualifying event window, and my 60 day window.

Question is, can this be undone? can we cancel his enrollment in her plan, and move to mine?

sorry for the rapid succession of posts. I’ve been combing through both my wife and my policy. I think i misinterpreted my own policy, and adding my child ( who is still in NICU) appears like it wouldn’t be subject to 20% coinsurance based on the policy provisions.

We enrolled my son in my wife’s plan late this week.

Is this able to be undone? my qualifying event window is 60 days, so we are still well within that timeframe.

Could my wife call her Human Resources department and say we made a huge mistake and they could undo the child’s enrollment?

Id like to move her and him to my insurance.

im running on almost no sleep and these details take a lot of effort and focus to understand

I made a post a while ago about deciding to switch my newborn son to either my wife or my plan. We’ve decided to Add him to her plan.

my question is, does her already accrued costs carry over? With her individual plan, she’s already met her deductible and also already almost met her in network out of pocket max.

Adding the baby Changes coverage to A family plan and doubles the deductible and out of pocket max.

Does the progress she’s made carry over? Meaning, everything will not be reset to zero?

In theory, we’re halfway to the OOP max for a family plan since she has just about reached hers. It would be catastrophic if hers reset and now that huge number has to be hit in addition to what we’ve already paid.

I’m about 3/4 way to forgiveness. I’m on IBR due for recertification in August.

I received an email that student aid is unable to manually recertify my application despite having consent on file.

I got married last year and my most recent tax return is MFJ as opposed to single. Is this the reason?

The paper form to submit gives the option to give consent, but is this even possible married filing jointly?

Im so confused by this.

about a week ago I got an email stating that despite authorizing student aid to pull my info from the irs for recertification, they were unable to do so.

I now log on to student aid website and keep getting a sorry, site is down error page when going to the IBR section.

Im not due to recertify until August, but figured I’d knock it out now.

Is this a temporary glitch in the student aid site? I’m also curious why a change in filing status (single to married) would render them unable to pull the data.

I dont want to wait until the last minute because I’m anticipating this will not be easy like it should be

I know Ive been posting a lot, but this journey is overwhelming.

Our son was born at 34+4 11 days ago. he was on oxygen for a few hours and then cpap for about a day and had been off any breathing assistance since that time.

He had his first non feeding spell in over a week last night, which was surprising, since he had been doing well.

Over the last few days, I’ve noticed that when my wife and I are holding him, or he’s in the bassinet, usually in a rest state, his 02 is pretty consistently in the lower 90s, and even bounces into the upper 80s before bouncing back up to 91-92-93.

I mentioned it to the nurse and she just kind of said it’s normal-ish at this gestation.

Why do I feel like that’s headed in the wrong direction? you’d expect as they age those O2 numbers to be remaining more steady, and stronger in the 90s.

Doctors also don’t seem concerned because they haven’t ordered as changes/tests etc.

Has anyone else experienced this? we’ve also been told that the O2 monitors can’t be relied on completely because they can be noisy.

Its a little concerning though seeing low 90s when our baby is just being held by us

Baby was born 34+4, been in the NICU for 10 days.

He is taking a full feed via breast when my wife and I are there. And taking between 1/2 and 3/4 of his feeds via bottle when we aren’t.

By all accounts, he’s doing well.

However, we understand a concrete timeline can’t/wont be provided. However, we cant even get information on what benchmarks he needs to hit to consider going home. Meaning, feed percentage, other things, etc. he’s also gained almost all his weight back, probably tomorrow, and for reference, was close to 6 pounds.

Everything seems to be checking out.

I understand this is likely intentional and to protect us from expectations in case of a set back.

Is this just stand procedure everywhere? It’s frustrating that we can’t even really track milestones because we don’t know what they are.
