[23F] getting married in a year, glow up tips?

Main concerns are how to properly style my hair/makeup, general skincare, and reducing my buffalo hump (last picture). I’ve got weight loss on my to-do list and would be happy to hear any tips yall might have! Any other suggestions welcome of course 💕 softmaxxing preferred but I’m open to ideas 🤪

My favorite clothing item!!!!

Hiya! I constantly get compliments from people on my duster/cardigan/robe thingy and I feel like this is the right place to showcase her. This thing follows me EVERYWHERE. School, work, post-shower, butt ass naked getting the mail, everywhere. I struggle to find things that fit me properly (I’m nearly 6ft tall and a little under 300lbs) and this baby has been my godsend. I even use it as a blanket in the summer, that’s how delightfully large it is. I’ve sewn it more times than I can count and she’s been worth every stitch. This quirky fat lady has found her ride or die 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻 I’m not here to sell anything but will post the link to it if folks would like 🥰🥰🥰

Petticoat recommendations?

Hiya! I’ve just bought my wedding dress and I’m THRILLED with it!!! I’m needing petticoat recommendations, as right now the gown is just falling flat and obscuring all the pretty embroidery. All petticoats I can find only go up to a 37 inch waist (kill me) so any suggestions are welcome! I’ve got a 42 inch waist if that’s of any help 💕💕💕

Do I just need to drain my fuel tank or is something more sinister going on?

Okay lots of context here so buckle up. I know I made some stupid choices that I have now learned from so please be nice 😅

First off, she’s a 2010 Saab 9-3 with 155,000 miles that I’ve had for three years now. Any Saab slander you have for me I’ve already heard 1000 times. Shes my baby and has served me perfectly well.

Now to where I messed up. I ran my tank to empty and ended up having to use some gas that had been sitting in a canister for at least two weeks, not knowing that’s a big no-no. Filled my tank with regular gas at the closest gas station the next day. No issues for the next couple days.

Then I went on vacation for three days and let my car sit with low fuel in the tank. Went to drive it when I returned and it stalled, wouldn’t start again, and had tons of smoke (like in the video but more) coming out of the tailpipes. Got it towed and the mechanic said my turbo was shot and I’d need to consider scrapping my car. My Saab friends wouldn’t have it. These turbos are excellent. So I drove it to another mechanic. Filled it up with gas on the way there. It drove fine but had a lot of funky smells going on.

My other mechanic said the same thing. The turbo wasn’t getting enough power and perhaps the smoke was it leaking oil. But he couldn’t figure out WHY it wasn’t getting any power. So he tinkered with it for a few days and then texted me saying the issue somehow fixed itself and my car was totally fine.

WOOHOO! She lives on. I drive it for the next two weeks without issue, like it’s totally back to normal.

Then I let my gas get back down to about a quarter full. I get it to the gas station no problem, fill ‘er up, then I have the same issue again. It stalls, smoke comes out the tailpipes, and the engine won’t start. Video is right after it stalled. Engine noises in the background are from other cars at the gas station. The issue wasn’t as bad this time around and I had just filled my tank, so I just turned the car off for a couple minutes to let the new fuel circulate (?) and then tried turning it back on. Totally normal again. No issues, no smells, no stalling, no nothing. What the heck is going on? Is there something in the bottom of my fuel tank gumming up the works? I know I should’ve gotten my tank drained and cleaned as soon as I realized I put bad gas in it, but I figured that wasn’t necessary because I filled it back up with good gas and was able to drive it perfectly fine for two weeks.

Thoughts???

Am I doing the right makeup for my features???

Hiya! Been doing my own makeup for years but am only now questioning if I’m making the right choices for my features. I have a pretty round face and hooded eyes so I feel like it’s never quite right. I love doing my eyeliner and I tend to be pretty good at it but I don’t know if it makes my eyes look small/heavy. I typically do concealer and powder bronzer but no foundation, with some light warm-toned eyeshadow and highlighter on the inner corner of my eye. Never done lashes or anything like that, they frankly scare me so I’d like to avoid them if possible unless everyone is convinced that’s what I need 😅 any critiques and tips welcome!

Cottagecore vibes with popcorn ceilings…is it possible???

Exactly like the title says. I’ve got a home purchase on the horizon and I’m absolutely in love with the place. I cannot WAIT to put my own touches on it. I’m looking to capture cozy earthy cottagecore vibes with some modern touches (inspo pics provided) but I’ve run into my worst nightmare…POPCORN CEILINGS!!!! *shudder* I can’t stand them. I would 100% be on board with just diy removing them but the house was built in 1900 so I worry about asbestos. That could turn a $120 reno into a $2000 one REAL quick. Not trying my luck with that. Is it possible to still capture the energy I’m looking for despite them? Any tips/thoughts welcome.

Possible to make these into cape sleeves?

Hi all!

I am getting married next September and I am in LOVE with my dress but I’m wanting to change the sleeves a bit. They’re currently big bell sleeves, which I love, but I’m wondering if it would be possible to turn them into cape sleeves (see the third picture to see what I’m trying to achieve). It seems like a fairly simple alteration if I can just cut a sit down the sleeve but I have a sneaking suspicion it’s not that simple. Any tips?

Top layer of hair always falling flat/frizzy. Any haircut/routine tips???

Curly hair semi-newbie! Raised by parents who had no idea how to take care of my curls so I’m kind of learning as I go. I buzzed all my hair off about three years ago for a full reset and this is where I’m at now. I wash my hair maybe once a week with Maui Moisture shampoo and conditioner. Shampoo only on the scalp and conditioner on the ends. No other products except the occasional leave in conditioner spray. Plop in a T-shirt for twenty minutes after getting out of the shower then air dry the rest of the way. I have used mousse/gels a couple times in the past but they always seemed to weigh my curls down. I have relatively thin hair density so I often struggle to get the volume I want. The hair closest to my neck and around my face always curls up so nice into medium sized ringlets but my top layer of hair near my crown always seems to be refusing to curl properly??? It falls flat and frizzes out into chaotic waves that go every which way. I’m thinking maybe my hair is too long? Do I need to get more layers in the back? Am I not getting enough moisture into those areas when I condition? I’ve never gotten a proper haircut from a stylist that specializes in curls so again I’m kind of figuring this all out on my own. Any help or suggestions greatly appreciated!
