Timex Expedition Scout 40mm strap color

I've been trying to find a good strap I like with this one. I've had black, orange, green, brown, etc.

I finally tried this slate grey leather one that I hadn't previously tried. I like it!

Any thoughts or suggestions are welcome!

Also what color is the dial? Every single member of my family says something different. Lol

Driving to a family friend's in upstate-ish New York when...

I got so excited to see Cairo on my map.

I remember wondering if that was a real NY town in the show and I just sorta assumed it wasn't real like Mapleton. I was wrong?

35mm l 12.68z l Longines 5356 l 7.25" wrist

I absolutely adore this piece (my 1st Swiss watch). It's been nice working in an office again after 6 years at home. I feel so grown up wearing it and it's getting a ton of wrist time.

Also all my 38mm and above watches are feeling way too big now. Is that normal?

Is Eddington dated or ahead of its time?

Huge Aster fan, 1st time poster.

I love this movie. I've seen it 5X lol. I don't mean the pandemic timeline but more the data center stuff. I think that it's going to age like wine.

1st ever Swiss timepiece

My new to me vintage Longines 5356 arrived early and I'm patiently waiting for a nice tan leather strap. In the meantime I threw it on this green rubber strap. I do like the green with this color dial.

This has the 12.68Z movement inside with a 35mm case diameter. The coloring of the dial brings a smile to my face. The small seconds dial also pleases me to no end.

Black leather looks ok to me but I'm thinking tan leather. I saw some other comments with green straps looking lovely. It seems like I have options and I can't really go too wrong, or can I?

Regina's face and performance

Saw OBAA 3X in the theater, once on Max in December, purchased the blu-ray which was delivered in January. Haven't watched it since then.

Revisiting it last night, I can't quite explain how this close up is so impacting but the look on her face is just so concerned and haunting and alive and it gets me every time.

Pretty sure the shot was in the trailer but within the context of the film and what's going on at that moment it hits in a way the trailer could never match.

(please forgive the low light cell phone image quality)

Hot walk with a classic

Hottest day in a few years here (105° felt like 115°) in the Philadelphia area but my F-91W didn't let me down!

Orient Bambino with a suit

I hadn't really had an opportunity to wear this other than with like a polo or something but today I did and I wore it with a navy suit with a light blue shirt and I think it looked really nice with it. I typically don't wear my watch so close to my hand but I was angling it so that it was more visible for the picture. It fit really easily under the cuff as well. Very happy with this watch!

Common side salad dressing in Amsterdam and Bruges

Hi everyone! My family was in Amsterdam earlier this month and had an amazing time. Can't wait to come back!

One question my wife and I had (which Google did not provide us a satisfactory answer to) was...

What was the default/prevalent salad dressing (not thick but thin, maybe with yogurt, sort of like a creamy Italian or something) that was used in a lot of the side salads that came with a burger or sandwich or something.

Whatever it was it was delish! TIA

In love with these watches

I'm looking to get my first Swiss watch and I'm finding myself so drawn to these vintage Longines with a 30l movement and the round small seconds. It's just so warm and lovely. Seeing mostly these in 35mm case diameter.

My one concern is with watches of that age, the cost to service them and the frequency in which they would need servicing. Curious if anyone has ideas about what that might look like?

One of these is a similar quartz version (much newer) and I feel that's a little less risky because of the battery. It's also very very thin which is appealing as well.

Any and all thoughts and opinions are welcome. Thank you!

Please help me find a small used vintage watch shop in Spiegelkwartier

I did not have the time I needed to spend there due to a situation with one of my daughters, and I thought I would be back, but unfortunately was not able to return. I neglected to take a picture or get an address while I was there - something I very much regret.

It is located on Nieuwe Spiegelstraat on the opposite side of the street from the Episode clothes shop located at Nieuwe Spiegelstraat 37H. Opposite side of street from L'Etoile de Saint Honoré as well. I could see the shop from their steps, I believe.

It was near the STACH cafe as well. On that same side of the street.

I believe it is north of Prinsengradt and south of Keisergradt - somewhere in those 2 blocks. It is NOT showing up on Google maps for me, which seems out of date at 2016 images. Google searches and street views are giving me no luck, either.

Greatly appreciate any help in identifying this store. Alsjeblieft & bedankt!!!

Salvageable with new screen?

Well it finally happened. After 7.5 months I dropped my pixel 4 watch while putting it onto my wrist. Direct hit onto a hard hotel floor. The sound was absolutely sickening. It still works fine and charges fine, however.

I'm hoping this could be a simple screen replacement (via the ifixit kit or thru Google).

Has anyone tried the kit and is it beginner / medium / hard to complete?

Thanks in advance!

$4 thrift store find - Casio MTP-V001L-7BUDF

Couldn't resist. Very thin and classy. I don't have any silver face watches, so this is a new one for me. Love it!
