Does anyone know how to do a Rapunzel braid?

I have no idea what to call it. You know how in the movie, she has all that hair, and then in one braid it's down to her feet? Something like that! Something which artificially reduces the length, so it goes to my mid-back instead of my butt.

I have a lot of hair, and for a while I could braid it to get out of the way, but now with the length that it is, it doesn't necessarily work. (A great problem to have, don't get me wrong!) I end up just fiddling with it and playing with it. I've been looking around for a braiding style that gets it out of the way for a while.

Any help is appreciated!

Raw vegan dressings?

I am not strictly raw vegan, but do eat primarily fresh fruits and vegetables. I was thinking of going raw vegan for a month because I don't think it would be too difficult, and also be kind of a fun challenge, but what do you guys do about dressings? What about seasoning? What are some tips and tricks to add spice and flavor?

Why is it that whenever I get close to dreaming in WILD, I just go, "f*** it," and go to sleep instead?

This has happened a few times. I'll get so into it, just meditating, letting my thoughts wander, staying still, until eventually my logical brain shuts off. At which point I go, "f-it. I'm tired." And turn onto my side and go straight to sleep.

Was just invited for a "chocolate run" with my family!

It was a fun time - just me, my family, and the dog we're dogsitting all driving to Walgreens. And the best part was: No cravings! Not even a passing interest in chocolate. It all felt so "nothing" to me. Like, I just didn't want it.

I ended up getting a bunch of office supplies, a jar of salsa, having a chill conversation with the checkout guy, and just. Having a blast with my family! No out-of-control feeling, no desperation to get 10 different kinds of chocolate. They had two new M&M types at the checkout, and previous me would have JUMPED at the opportunity to try them, even if I knew they'd taste like shit. Now I know it's all marketing, it's just novelty trying to get me to make myself worse for their monetary gain. I was grossed out by them. I didn't care! I didn't want any!! Yipee!!!!

Anything to curb the grilled cheese craving?

Just want a grilled cheese, but don't want the bread associated with it. I've seen things about grilling just the cheese, but I'm not sure how that would work. As long as it has that signature crunch, y'know?

Have you guys heard of Allen Carr's "Good Sugar Bad Sugar"?

I know this may be preaching to the choir, but I just finished the book and I feel fantastic. Allen Carr is known for writing books that, when reading them, completely remove the addiction from your body. I found out about it through a different self-help book, where he said that it helped him stop smoking entirely, and I thought, "I wish that existed but for sugar." Turns out it does, and it's awesome. I've tried dieting before, but the cravings were so intense, and I was so restrictive, and I'd just look forward to the day the diet was over. I just couldn't crack it. But this had me stop eating candy entirely. No cravings or anything. Cool stuff!

Is there a better way to block someone over text?

On discord (dms) if I block, they basically don't exist to me unless I unblock. But in messenger / the local text app, I can straight up look up their first name (or just the first letter of their name lol) and see if they've messaged. It's so easy to check, and I can't stop checking it a couple times a day.

I'm Not Sure if I'm Allowed Here?

("TO KEEP THINGS SHORT," I SAY! LMAO. NEVER FREAKING MIND. BIG HUGE RANT AHEAD LOLLLLL. TAGGING THIS AS A VENT I GUESS.)

To keep things short, I (F23) openly identify as ace/aro, but about 6 months ago, I ended up talking to a content creator (M33) I was obsessed with. (Not a popular one, not one you've literally ever heard of, but one I adored.) Anyway, we became fast friends, and then something more. I felt so honored to be talking to him. He would make me things and I would write poetry about how it made me feel. He told me how he wanted to be with me, how he wanted to marry me. He called us, "engaged," as a cheeky way of defining the relationship, as in, "we're engaged by each other." Neither of us felt comfortable in straightforward romantic relationships, so it felt nice. Actually, scratch that, it felt awesome. I became head-over-heels obsessed.

About five months later, I'd invited him to my birthday (a fully expensed trip to Universal), which he got a plane ticket and a hotel for, which he sent me screenshots so I knew he was legit coming. And then, due to extraneous mental-health circumstances, he canceled a couple days before. I ended up inviting a couple of my closest friends in his stead, and it ended up being a great time, so, it's fine. Still, though, I was definitely grieving, and while talking things through with him (he was really good at making me feel okay / saying all the right things when I was down), he told me to wait for him while he got his life together.

We talked every day, I highly doubt he's some manipulative evil mastermind. I got to know him pretty well, and he was a really nice man. Comforting, Christian, it felt like he understood me more than anyone else. I've also facetimed him, and talked a little bit with his best friend, and his real name was attached to a book he'd written, so I'd be surprised if he were a catfish. I believe him for the reason he said he couldn't come, even though I really don't want to.

Fast forward a month later, and I'm vaguely talking about this idea for a story I'd write about us being married, and he says he wants to chill out with the "marriage talk" "for now." This is kind of part two to him not wanting me to point out when he does something attractive. I basically panic, end up hyperventilating in my bathtub, and take it as he's breaking up with me. But we talk it through and he reiterates the "for now" part, and that's that.

In the meantime, my pen pal, who's been getting all the juicy details, reads about the Universal Situation, dms me, and tells me to dump him. (Keep in mind, at this point we've stopped being "engaged" and started being "friends." But this was a while ago, before everything, and only because he said he didn't want to be in an online relationship. Hence the whole inviting-him-to-meet-in-person kind of thing. Looking back, we were probably just friends, not "friends except we could be something more in the future" lol. Woe is me or whatever).

Anyway, eventually, I do. We have a long conversation where I say up way too fucking late, where he tells me he'd slowly stopped having feelings for me, and he didn't know why. I drop him that next morning, and decide to go no-contact.

... For about a week. (This is where is starts getting bad, lol). I message him a couple of different places, and end up just texting him, trying to pretend where things had left off. It was weird, like, without him, it was just so much more intense. He was one of the only people I talked to (and the only person I ever shared anything negative with) for six months. It was tough. So I decided, "hey ykw, I'm too hedonistic to be doing this to myself" so I messaged him. He responded on and off, said he was trying to stay away from his phone, etc.

And then, as it looks like he's more and more likely to leave, I start getting desperate to basically "clear out my conscience" and start telling him all the things I didn't when I started. Like how I really didn't like his best friend, how he was generally kind of rude, how it hurt my feelings when he repeatedly said he was excited "for the Mario Burger" and "to get out of the house," and never really said he was looking forward to seeing *me*. He ended up calling me, "a very disingenuous person", which really stung, and said he never wanted to talk to me again.

However, he didn't block me. (It keeps getting worse, lol). I pretended to think I did, so he would think I thought I was talking to open air. And on and off, he would read my messages, until today, I could reliably tell he was checking my messages about once every 30 mins / 1 hr. I wracked up exactly 90 text messages this way (yes, I counted. Yes, I celebrated the 67th and 69th one, because that's just the kind of person I am). There was something very very comforting about that little read receipt. Today, I told him I could see he was reading my messages. His last message to me was this:

"You weren't blocked. This is blocked."

The end. Lol.

So, I know I'm the one talking, so obviously things are going to sound like it's all his fault from my perspective, but I'm honestly not sure if I'm in the right here. I guess that's what I'm trying to figure out. At the end of the day, I wasn't the one to block him. I may have just been fucking crazy from the start, lol. I don't want to get stuck in the trap of, "I can't be crazy, I'm too smart to be crazy," because looking at my actions, I'm definitely in "I blocked her for a good reason" territory. Idk. I Just Don't Know.

I also realize that I may be trying to paint myself as the victim, or creating a story that looks like I am in the right here. I don't know what I don't know, or how I've made him feel (other than maybe angry?). But I don't want you to think I'm fully in the right here. I try to be a very positive person, but I'm also a bit emotionally numb, which puts me in a very odd, "manipulating people into being my friends by being a positive person to be around that people feel good talking to," kind of mindset. So I can be pretty disingenuous, just by nature. Like, if there's something I don't like about someone, I tend not to say it, because it doesn't need to be said, and it doesn't really matter. But I'd never been in a more romantic-aligned relationship that I cared about, so I'm not sure if I should have been more straightforward, even if those things are negative. I think I should have. Idk.

Just Finished Animal Well and Honestly in Tears

I'm talking about the next-next ending. I teared up listening to what they had to say. It's hard not having anyone to share how fun and great this game was. I've mastered one-column bubble jumping, and that weird frisbee jump thing for no reason (it's the Celeste player in me I guess). I stayed away from this game for a couple years because it was advertised as horror, but I'm really glad I came back. I'll be recommending this game forever, it was so cool.

Kangaroos will now forever terrify me.

>!(Also, I don't think I've had anyone say they were proud of me in such a genuine tone in a long time. It hit different.)!<

Longish Open World / Exploration Game I can Play on my Vacation

I love open world games with pretty locations and interesting gameplay. Literally anything to do that isn't "guns". I'm thinking in the realm of some of my favorite games, The Witness, Outer Wilds, and Moss Moss. I like exploring, I just don't like shooting things and having to fight BS while doing so. But I don't want *nothing* to do. Even just filling out a map would be fine.

(Also, I forgot to bring my mouse on this trip lol, so it's keyboard and xbox controller only)

Bonus info:

- It's nicer if it's a bit of a smaller game - I could never finish BotW, since there was too much to explore. I like getting into every nook and cranny, and completing it at the end. Hollow Knight and some other "2D explore this map" flash games fill this role.

- I like platformers. Never really got into Mario, but another favorite game of mine is Celeste, and old flash games are a lot of fun.

- I like games that play with the idea of a game. Fez, This Is The Only Level, There Is No Game, etc. . Also Doki Doki and Miiside, kind of.

- I like otome/dating games, those are fun.

Found separate from the rest of my grandfather's coins

He's long gone, and we're going through his things. He was an avid coin collector, so we're trying to figure out why this one was separate. It looks russian?

do male strip clubs only have beefy men

I ask because I know a lot of women aren't into that sort of thing. I feel like more women are into skinny, lanky, guys than whatever the "peak male form" is nowadays. Like, if a giant muscle guy came up to me, I'd feel nothing, and maybe get a little scared. But if the guy was some skinny guy with eyeshadow who looked like he could be in PatD in 2010.... Hoo boy.......

Edit: And if he started talking about his Zelda figuring collection....... Hoochie Mama!

Shows like The Annoying Orange that aren't Annoying

I know, I know. But I recently went back and watched the Annoying Orange (I never really got it when I was younger), and, to be so honest, it's actually pretty funny. I just fucking hate his voice. That orange is so goddamned annoying

My favorite pair of sneakers starting to fall apart after over a decade

The bottom part has started to come off. I fixed it with superglue, but I fear things may be coming to an end. They're so comfortable, and have worked well so far, so I'm just hoping they're still out there.

[TOMT][SONG][MUSICAL] Oh, for days...

It's a song, either from a musical or something like it. It's recorded, sung by a guy, in a video or something.

This is the scene in my head, but it may not be accurate. The only part I know for sure is this one lyric:

He's singing, and then sings about waiting, - he sits down, forlorn - oh, for days. The "oh" part is on a half measure, so it comes in offbeat. In my head, he kind of sounds like Neil Patrick Harris

Example lyric: she told me she would come by, and I was waiting around, (oh) for days... *whispy music*

For some reason my mind says Christmas? But that could just be a red-herring.

How to not eat candy?

I've seen the advice "just say away for a week and it'll get easier," I've gone high-fiber, I've tried replacing sweets with fruit, all that. But quite literally, ever since I got diagnosed with PCOS, I haven't been able to stay off it for longer than a week. Every diet I've ever had, I have to include candy or else it becomes impossible. I can have Self-control, but I get tired, and once I have one little piece, I have them all.

I've worked to reduce it, and can go one or two days at a time without it with dieting/fiber (this is coming from when I used to regularly snack on kitkats in the morning, and ice cream bars at night).

But I figured I'd ask you guys and see if there was any advice. I'd love to be able to eat chocolate in moderation / on special occasions, but it's been a forever struggle.

Soloing a track

This may be a simple question, but I can't find the answer anywhere.

When I press 's' in FL Studio it plays just the solo track. I want to just have that sound and remove everything else. How do I just get that soloed track?

Are there any good poker games without Wifi?

I'm trying to play poker on my phone when there isn't wifi around. Are there any phone games that have interesting AI to play against, which don't lock up if I don't have any signal?

(Also apologies if this is the wrong sub!)

Or at least, what are the rerms I should be looking up to find some?

In general, I'm trying to collect resources on learning how to play better home games, but I'm not exactly sure of the terminology, so it's difficult. I can learn card counting and statistics all day, but a lot of that doesn't matter if I can't get a good read on how confident the other people at the table are.
