Made something for myself to quit gaming, drinking and smoking, and the approach is unusual and not mainstreamed but it kind of works.

I am just simple guy, working as software engineer and as many of us I struggle with certain bad habits. I tried so many things to stop drinking like a crazy, quit smoking and playing meaningless MOBA games. Simply using power of will won't work for me, I just don't have it. Because of the acceptance of lacking self-control, it struck me, why I force myself quitting, I need to replace the bad habit with something else that will give me dopamine, so I built Replacify, I will comment the links in the chat. It provides me with options where I can redirect my focus in moments when urge is strong. Instead of drinking it tells me go for a run, or box breathing, or read a book, etc. Moreover, you build momentum and achieve goals by doing that. I asked few friends of mine to give it a try and they loved it. Would love to hear what you think about it? What would you improve? Curious to know if this method of quitting bad habits works at all or it was just a miracle that it worked for us.

I have a gym app, paid ads are only way to promote?

Hi, I got this gym app. Wondering if there is a way to push through this abundance of gym apps. I think mine stands out thanks to its calm design and simplicity but I think simply ASO is not enough.

What is or would be your strategy? Ads are super expensive so if this is the only way I prefer park the project and go social media only for promotion.

Thanks

How much budget I need for a start?

Hi,

I am a mobile app developer. I’ve developed 5 apps so far and now I face the problem of promoting them. I consider META ads.

Can you suggest how much I should have for a start? How can I scale smartly?

Note, I am pretty tight on budget right now, I could start off with 100-200 bucks a month and scale only using the profits (if any).

I am new to ads and always relied on organic installs but I understand without ads I am not going to grow.

What would be you advice?

Thanks!

Broadband technical issues in Birmingham anyone?

Hi,

Got no internet for almost 3 days due to some fault.

Router keeps flashing orange.

Tracker the fault and it says (see the screenshots)

Anyone having the same issue? For how long? Is it because of the heat?

How do you implement AI features into your SaaS project?

Hi,

Wondering what are the options if I want to create an AI features into in my app. I know about openAI api and other various API’s. The thing is I am a tad scared to use them because I hardly understand how they charge. I know a lot of stories where people used it wrongly and got huge bills for that.

Also, do we always need these powerful models? Can’t we use in some cases like qwen 8b or gamma 4 or something like that is running on a VPS?

Is ASO really enough in most of the cases to promote an app?

Hi, I got few apps that fall into the same category as habit trackers, alarms, and a few others. However, one of the apps, for instance, is like a habit tracker but uses a different set of keywords as it aims at a bit different goals, so via the App store, I get almost 0 traffic.

I played with the keywords a lot and still nothing, like 1-3 a month, maybe. I tried to enter the Habit Tracker field directly by using keywords for that, but that place is super oversaturated, so the same results basically in the end.

My question is, is ASO enough, really these days? Looks like people search for certain things in app stores and not much else. Not like in Google, I guess, where people can search for anything. In this case, I wonder, what else do people do to promote these kinds of apps that have almost no traffic from app stores? I know people use Ads, but maybe there is a way to find the proper keywords and find the niche? I use ASO tools, but it took me nowhere really.
