Advice needed for toddler’s tongue constantly sticking out with mouth open.

My 2 year old constantly has her mouth open and tongue sticking out. She’s seen numerous dentists, OT, and ENTs and no one can give me an explanation to why her tongue sticks out except maybe she has a “large” tongue.

She already got lip and posterior tongue tie released and we did all the stretches for weeks. She has reflux/GERD, underbite, and is a thumb sucker. She has pretty bad tarter where I have to take her to get cleanings every few months. Her upper teeth also seem to be getting slightly stained but her dentist said it was fine…I noticed recently that she drinks with the straw pointed to the front of her upper teeth. She has also always been super sensitive when it comes to her upper lip/teeth area (even before the lip tie released). She can tolerate us brushing her bottom teeth but once we try to touch her top lip she hates it.

Btw we have already ruled out enlarged androids.

Does anyone know how we can fix her tongue and mouth posture? Which specialist can I see that can help us out? I am desperate for answers as we have already seen so many specialists and I feel like I am just going in circles.

Best way to clean floors as a mom with 2 under 2 and a dog that sheds like CRAZY?

We currently have a Dyson vacuum and a steam mop. The steam mop is corded and feels so heavy and inconvenient to use since I have to replug and let it warm up again.

I want to find the best, easiest, and quickest way possible to clean my floors.

Should I buy a Swifer spray mop to use after I vacuum?

Or will a robot vacuum mop be better? If so, what’s the best one? We did own a robot vacuum and a separate robot mop over 6 years ago but it kept getting stuck and didn’t clean that well. Is it different nowadays?

Newborn has hammer/curved toe?

My baby has hammer toe on the 4th toe on both feet. The nail for that toe is also rounded instead of flat like the others. Is this something that needs to be corrected sooner than later?

Oeko-Tek & GOTS Clothing

For those who are mindful about baby/kids’ clothing and textiles, do you only buy items that are GOTS certified/OEKO-TEX certified?

I’m trying to be more conscious about what I buy, but I’m finding it really difficult (and sometimes almost impossible) to have everything meet those certifications. Do you prioritize certifications for certain items (like pajamas, underwear, sheets, or things directly against skin), or do you feel comfortable buying from brands that use organic materials but don’t have certifications?

Also, how do you guys feel about bamboo pajamas like Posh Peanut that has no certification?

Advice? Continue Daycare?

I have a 2 year old and a 7 week old.

We pay full time for my toddlers daycare but we only send her to daycare from 11-5:30pm because we start the day late with her. She eats lunch at 12 at daycare then naps from 1-2:30pm. I feel like time passes by so fast when she’s at daycare and before I can even rest much (if any) I feel like she’s home already and that I am always exhausted.

My toddler just started 7 hours of therapy classes each week. Because we don’t want to delay her going to daycare even more, we are fitting these therapy classes super early in the morning.

Should I just take her out of daycare to save some money and move the therapy classes to later in the day? Or should I charge her daycare to part time from 1-5:30pm? I would still be saving some money but since she usually naps from 1-2:30pm, is it even worth going?

I don’t think this daycare is teaching much. It’s mostly just playing. If I take her out of daycare, should I just take her out more like to the park or library? How tough is it to go out with 2 so soon while pumping/feeding newborn?

Should I continue breastfeeding?

I have a 2 year old and a 7 week old. For my 2 year old, I really wanted to breastfeed as long as possible so I even built a freezer stash of breastmilk for when I returned to work. Unfortunately she had tongue tie and severe CMPA so breastfeeding took an hour each session and when we found out she had CMPA, we ended up not able to use the freezer stash I built her.

This time around, I wasn’t sure if I wanted to breastfeed due to my past experience but I said why not just give it a try since every baby is different. So far, my 7 week old also has a tongue tie so she does not do well breastfeeding. She will breastfeed a total of a few mins to maybe 10 mins and will only breastfeed on one side. She will then keep crying when I place her down since she didn’t eat much. I ended up pumping and bottle feeding her which works so much better but I am exhausted pumping, feeding, cleaning, and taking care of my toddler. Because of this, I never get to eat a full meal. My meals are always interrupted and by the time I can eat, I already lost my appetite and mood and feel like it’s easier to just starve so I can rest before the chaos happens all over again.

Since I am hardly eating and drinking, I feel guilty that I am not providing enough nutrients in my breastmilk for my baby. Last week I ate a small sandwich the whole day and didn’t get to even sip water until the afternoon. I do pump out more milk than what my baby eats so I started pumping less in a day but I think I finally started seeing a drop in my supply today.

I know I should be consuming extra calories while breastfeeding, but since I am doing the opposite by hardly eating, is it even beneficial to continue breastfeeding? Or would it be better to just give formula?

Or should I just wing it when I pump? Do what I can and supplement with formula if needed?

CMPA?

Does this look like cmpa or one of diarrhea? Not all the diapers look like this but there are a little bit of mucus in them.

No Appetite

Second baby and she’s a month old. I feel like I haven’t had a meal where I’ve been full in ages. I’m always occupied trying to feed my toddler and I get too tired to finish feeding myself or I get tired or eating by the time I can eat. I no longer have food cravings nor do I have an appetite. So far for today I only had a cup of coffee since I was so sleep deprived. I am starving but don’t feel like eating yet at all.

I do have a good amount of milk supply and I already have bags of milk frozen in case I need it but my newborn has mucus in her stool just like my first so I assume she might have CMPA as well which I will find out soon. With my 1st, I cut had to cut out dairy, soy, eggs, gluten, etc and it didn’t work so all my frozen breastmilk went to waste. So if this baby also has CMPA, I will be quitting breastfeeding and go directly to formula instead.

So at this point, I am not too worried about losing my milk supply esp since once we do the test for CMPA, if it comes back positive, I will stop breastfeeding.

I also want to lose weight as quickly as possible. In this case, will it be ok to limit my food intake?

Name Regret

Named our baby Aria but having a hard time getting it to roll out of my tongue. With our 1st, I knew exactly what I wanted but this time around it was super hard since everything I loved, my husband hated and vice versa.

I’m wondering if I should change her name. Would Ariana better so she has more nickname options and can still go by Aria? But since there’s nothing we can agree on that I absolutely love, I’m worried changing it won’t help and she will have to fill out “other names used” on future paperwork.

Ariana or Aria?

We really love the nick name Ari and her sister’s name is Isabella. However, we are scared that Ariana just reminds everyone about Ariana Grande and Aria about Pretty Little Liars or Vegas hotel.

But between Ariana and Aria? Which one do you like better?
