Grey Lens

I was wondering if anyone knows how this grey lens bezel works, is it a sticker, physical lens or just extra bezel attached to the housing? TIA

[NGP] Neo Geo Pocket Contrast Wheel Replacement

Can anyone recommend a direct drop-in replacement for the contrast potentiometer on a Neo Geo Pocket?

I believe the original is around 10K, and I was wondering whether one of the Game Boy Pocket replacement potentiometers would suffice - I believe these are 30k

Has anyone actually tried replacing a Neo Geo Pocket contrast pot with an off-the-shelf alternative?

Any recommendations or experience with specific parts would be greatly appreciated!

Multiscan 200es Purity

I've had this Sony Trinitron Multiscan 200ES for a few months now and I'm looking for some opinions before I start adjusting anything.

It has always had a purity issue in the bottom-right corner, which I've more or less bodged with a small magnet on the outside of the case. Recently though, I've started getting a new purity issue in the top-left corner.

I've run dozens of degauss cycles, but it hasn't made any difference. To be fair, the degauss circuit on this monitor has always seemed fairly weak.

I'm trying to work out what the most likely cause is. My initial thought was a slightly damaged aperture grille causing the bottom-right issue, but the new top-left impurity has made me wonder whether something has shifted instead—perhaps a purity ring or even the yoke.

Overall geometry is actually pretty good (just a little wonky in places), so I'm hesitant to start messing with the yoke or purity rings unless it's likely to help, as I know that can quickly turn into a world of pain.

What do you think is the most likely diagnosis is?

Scored for free and am quite ignorant. Will camera lens cleaner sort these lens smudges?

[Xbox one] Console cannot detect 4k TV after HMI Port swap

Swapped the HDMI port on this Xbox one S. Pin 2 was lifted but I have added a trace to the ground of the filter.

Unfortunately it cannot detect the 4k TV and I cannot get resolutions above 1440p. The repair may not look great but I cannot detect any bridging. I'm thinking I may have fried the ESD booster IC?

Any advice appreciated

TIA

Saw a post about the 4k's lacklustre remote signal and decided to do something about mine

It's an old trick but adding aluminium tape has definitely improved things, more IR is now reflected out of the top.

Vertical Smearing - sometimes snaps to sharp image (as seen in video)

Hi all. I would appreciate some community input on this. I picked up a free Panasonic 32PW9308/05. There's some vertical smearing that occasionally snaps sharp. Where would be the best place to start? Cold solder joints on the vertical IC?

Hello. I have a GBA Pro. Excellent for the most part but I've had an issue several games where both the save game and save state just disappears and I've lost a load of progress. What am I doing wrong?

I replaced both shoulder switches in a DSL today. I'm not happy with the outcome as they are a uneven and I've got hardly any travel on one side and the other is dubious at best. I plan to redo them but am looking for some tips. I found these quite challenging to install due to the size and no through-hole anchor points. TIA
