I havent seen one since I was a kid, and now my whole week has been made. Terrified the chickens or squirrels will eat it.
Caprese salad.
For almost a year, I've been doing a sort of FWB/Long distance thing with someone. They're a resort chef/wilderness guide, living a nomadic lifestyle, and committed relationships can be difficult. I left an abusive engagement, and don't really want a serious relationship with any man right now. We would text every day, I would fly out to see him when I could, and he'd fly out to see me in between jobs. I liked the arrangement, we have a lot in common, he's funny, intelligent and sweet.
Then, one day, I mentioned I disliked war themed games, like Call of Duty. I feel like media that "gamifies" war, and the military's involvement in COD itself is gross. The military is no stranger to the gaming world, and have made their own games, but getting involved with an outside game, in a post 9/11 landscape, and using it as a recruitment tool is somewhat insidious, especially when we know people spend and unhealthy amount of hours on them. I'm not a gamer, but apparently he used to be and this set him off. "What, so all games have to be fantasy?" I said no, there's plenty of other games, and it's fine to play COD, I just think it's icky that game developers worked with the military as a recruiting tool. He went on to say that competitive gaming was really important to him at one time. I kept trying to say there was nothing wrong with that, but he started to insist I was being too emotional about it. I was stunned. I don't think my opinion is wrong to have, and I am not emotional about it. There's even a paper from Brown University that supports my opinion about the unhealthy nature of the US military investing in games.
He hasn't spoken to me in two weeks. We were supposed to spend the fall together, but I don't think that's happening now. I feel like once I had an opinion he didn't like, he couldn't handle it. Despite my best efforts, he took what I said as a personal attack when I wasn't criticizing anyone but the military and game developers. We're grown ass adults (39m and 42f) and I'm almost embarrassed this is why a relationship failed.
Butternut and zucchini are going crazy. There's also some kale and jalapeños in there.
I like to lay on my back and look up at the trees. Without fail, she will walk over, climb on me and just plop.
I moved to the metro area at the end of March and I'm trying to rebuild my succulent and cacti selection. I've looked at a couple places near me, but they aren't quite what I'm trying to find. Anyone know where I could find a garden center with fun succulents or cacti? I live in Crystal, but I'm willing to travel.
Leftover dough from the pizza I made for myself. One girl (not pictured) didn't like it and just screamed at it. Tbf, the dough was underproofed.
Moved from the rocky mountain region to here, and i was not expecting this.
Tbf, it took a couple years before the orange started leaching into the resin. How can I prevent that from happening the next time? I'm using acrylics, if that helps.
Photos don't do it justice. You could easily put four large cats in this thing. I'm torn between a water terrarium or regular planted terrarium.
Homelander once said "the only man in the sky is me". They mention the new Noir being able to fly, and how Oh Father wants to do a fake faith healing on Noir and have him fly. Homie will NOT like this, and I think we're going to see a gruesome fight between him and Noir soon.
The vest has no tag, but is super warm. I found it at a vintage store in CO. Skirt is 70s wrap from Meadowbank. Found in MN. Its amazing how much sturdier older clothes feel.
