Did your family members ever tell you crazy stories?

Once my dad took me to a river to teach me how to skip stones. A cop car drove by and he suddenly told me to get down and hide until the car drove by. He said he didn’t want us to get arrested. Skipping stones was illegal. He said it was because every time a stone skipped, it was because it bounced off the head of a fish.

I believed this for so many years. I don’t want to admit how old I was before I figured out that my dad made it up.

With B circuit going weekends only, why does the LCU need new interns?

I think before they seek out new talent, Keem should try to put the best hosts of B circuit shows on the A circuit. There is a huge number of hosts that are basically out of work now. Why are they looking for more hosts?

The week started Saturday instead of Monday

I thought this was really weird. Usually, the weekly rankings start Monday, but when I opened the app this morning, the weekly ranking had finished and a new one began.

Did this happen for anyone else? It’s not a big deal, but I don’t really like it.

Moving two numbers away from a T-mobile account to Mint

My daughter and I are on my dad’s T-mobile account right now. So is my aunt. My dad is terminally ill and is likely to pass away in the next week or two. My aunt has the authority to act on his behalf in regards to the phone number.

I want to move my daughter’s and my phone numbers from my dad’s account to my own. Currently, Mint has a very good deal — unlimited data at one price.

The directions for transferring the numbers from T-mobile to Mint seem straightforward, but it seems to be for transferring only one number and the only number on the account that you’re transferring from. I want to transfer two numbers and I don’t want my dad’s or my aunt’s number to be affected. They will stay on his account. I think she will inherit his account when he dies.

Is there anything extra I’ll have to do since I’m transferring multiple lines and I’m not the primary owner of the account that I’m transferring from?

Companies that force employees to work in the office when they don’t need to.

Since Covid, my husband has worked from home 4 days a week. He only needed to go into the office one day a week. Suddenly, his company decided that the workers all need to start working in the office again.

His job will be the same. He will still do everything online at his computer. His coworkers that he has meetings with are in different offices, so his meetings will still all be online. So he will sit in his office all day at a computer, not interacting with anyone in person. But now he has to do it at the office.

Now, my husband’s company isn’t at fault. Due to Doge cuts, employees in his field must work in the office to continue to receive federal funds (Medicaid billing) I won’t get into my opinions about that right now.

But so many other jobs are doing the same thing right now. They force people to go back to the office when there’s no need. They give excuses like, employees need to see each other in person or they need to make sure employees are actually working and not screwing around at home or whatever.

I know most people had this happen years earlier, so it’s an old issue. But this just started this month for my husband and others in his field.

Excema inside ears driving me up the wall

I’m in my 50s and have had excema since I was a toddler. It’s been pretty mild after I became a teenager and went for almost 20 years without a flareup. But recently I started an antidepressant and it started the worst flareup I’ve had ever.

As a kid I only got it on my hands and as an adult, I got it on my belly. This time it’s on my face, neck and ankles. But the worst place is inside my ears! It’s terrible. It itches so bad and the skin is so thin and tender. I’m more miserable than I’ve been for years.

I’m seeing a dermatologist this week. I haven’t been to one since I was a little kid. I’m confident that they have better treatment than in the 1970s. Back then, they just gave me cortisone cream and told my parents to put socks on my hands. Now I’m itching in places I can’t safely put cream and it’s so much worse than I ever remember!

Wish me luck!

Facebook “friend” is creepy AF.

For reference, I’m a happily married woman in my mid 50s. This friend is a man and an old roommate of mine the same age.

In April, I made a post on Facebook about something or other and someone I hadn’t spoken with in almost 30 years made a reply. He sounded depressed so I asked him if everything was OK.

He sent a message via Facebook messenger. I didn’t see it for a few days, because I never check that app. I’m not sure why I even checked it at the time. He told me that he was very depressed and I asked him what was wrong. He wrote back an extremely long message. I didn’t even read it for a day or two because it was so long and I didn’t have time to read the whole thing.

When I finally read it, I was shocked. I thought he was just going through a rough time. Maybe losing his job or going through a divorce or something. But he didn’t talk about his current situation at all. He just said that he was thinking about the past.

And he went into extreme detail about back when we were roommates in the early 1990s. It was so creepy. He remembered all this stuff that I haven’t even thought about in about 30 years. He asked me all these questions about personal things that went on between me and the guy I was dating at the time. It was so weird and made me extremely uncomfortable.

I just shut the app and tried not to think about it. I told my husband that it creeped me out, but when he asked me what the guy said, I couldn’t even say anything. Because I didn’t even want to think about it.

A month later, I was doing something on my phone and a message popped up from the guy. I took a look. He was angry that he poured his heart out to me and I ghosted him. He said that I wasn’t a good friend to him. I didn’t reply. A few days later, he made a bunch of cryptic comments on his Facebook page about how people always let him down and didn’t know what being friends meant. I didn’t feel guilty. I hadn’t even talked to this guy in several decades. I thought that was the end of it.

In June, I got a message from a family member on messenger. I went to check it out. While I did this, I saw SIX messages from the guy. I didn’t even open them. WTF? He’s been messaging me this entire time? It spooked me.

In mid July, I was watching some YouTube videos and got another message from him, and the first few sentences came up in the alert. He asked if I even still wanted to be friends with him. On Tuesday of this week, I got another message. And yesterday, yet another. Now I have no idea how many messages he’s sent. It’s at 9+.

I know I should have blocked him after that first message. I should probably block him now. But now I have sort of a morbid curiosity about how long will he keep sending me all these messages? When will he finally stop? WHY is he doing this?

He lives over 2k miles away from me, so I don’t worry about him going IRL or something. It’s just really weird. I can’t talk about to anyone else, but I had to get it off my chest, so here’s my extremely long post about it.

Discords that use bots to track their users discord use

I recently joined a discord group that requires users to join a website before they allow access to the discord. That seemed reasonable, so that’s what I did.

Things were ok when I was first on the server. But then there were weird announcements. Anyone who joined a few certain discord servers would be banned. Apparently these servers were created by people the discord owner personally disliked.

I thought that was a silly rule. How could this guy know if someone was a member of one of these servers? But then people started disappearing and sometimes there were announcements that certain longtime members were banned for being members of the forbidden servers.

I asked someone how did the guy know that these people were in other servers? They told me it was a bot. I checked my authorized bots and there it was. I deleted it and left the server. I didn’t want to be involved anymore.

I thought bots like this were against discord TOS. If so, is there any way to report this? It’s very invasive and I don’t think he should be allowed to secretly force his members to install a bot that collects private information like this.

Keemstar: King of the Lolcows — new documentary

https://youtu.be/lCyWPJE6WY0?is=PsA2XyhJR1s0h9eV part 2. Just came up today.

I know there are other documentaries on Keem but this one is new. Mr. Snowflake makes excellent documentaries. A former LCU host said that they knew a lot about Keem but this brought to light stuff they didn’t know.

He did one about Boogie a few years ago that gave really interesting insight. You might want to check that out too.

People who say they have a perfect partner— except for one thing that’s extremely toxic.

I lurk on the relationship advice subreddits. So many people will say that they have a partner who is great and they love them so much — except for the one thing they are mentioning in their post. And their one thing is that their partner cheats on them or abuses them.

Sometimes they are so abused that they might not realize that what they are describing is abuse. And I feel bad for them. But some people will straight up say that their partner is unfaithful or physically abusive and they insist that everything else is absolutely perfect.

If they are doing whatever they describe, then there’s no way that’s the only bad thing they do. They most likely do all kinds of horrible things that this poster is rug sweeping or denying.

Even if it’s true and they really are perfect except the one thing— that one thing is so bad that it means your partner is not good. They are horrible.

I try to tell myself that there’s a good chance that many of these posts are fake and possibly rage bait. I try to treat the subreddits like soap operas that are more entertainment than anything else.

But I’ve known people irl who have been in these situations. They forgive every awful thing their partners do and insist they are perfect— except this one little thing.

Will my cat eat and drink on his own?

I know this sounds crazy, but my cat is weird. Every morning, as soon as my cat can tell that I’m awake, my cat bursts into the bedroom, crying and howling and begging me to get up.

I follow him to his water bowl. It’s still full, but I refresh the water for him. Only then will he drink. He acts like he doesn’t have access to the water all night and he’s incredibly thirsty.

Then we go to his food bowl, that’s full of dry food. I don’t have to refresh his food, but he rushes over to his bowl and starts wolfing down his food as if he couldn’t eat all night.

So I’ve figured out that he is quirky and wants me to watch him eat and drink. I don’t have to watch the whole time, but he definitely wants me to watch him start.

I worry because I’m going out of town for a week. My husband will be home and he doesn’t have time or interest to do the ritual for the cat. He says he’s sure the cat will eventually eat and drink on his own if he really gets hungry.

He’s probably right. But I worry. Several years ago I had an extremely picky cat that only ate one brand of food. I assumed that he’d eat another brand if he got hungry enough, but he wouldn’t eat it. He went a few days without eating a single bite before i gave up and got his old brand. I asked his vet about it and she told me that cats aren’t like dogs. Some cats will eat if they are hungry enough, but many cats will simply refuse to eat no matter how hungry they get.

It’s likely that he’ll eat on his own, but I still worry and I’m looking for reassurance. I have talked to others on various subreddits who also have cats with this habit. Will they eventually eat and drink on their own if you don’t watch them?

Just because you don’t experience something doesn’t mean nobody experiences it.

I’m on a Reddit for a certain medication. This medication has many potential side effects and many dietary suggestions to avoid them. I’ve been on the medication for over a year with almost none of these side affects. I’m very lucky.

However, I recently started ingesting something that’s on the list of things to avoid. I didn’t think there would be a problem. But I quickly started experiencing bad side affects and felt miserable. So I posted about it. Lots of people post about their experiences here and people are very supportive of each other.

I was quite surprised when I got downvoted and people asking me where on earth I got the idea that I could have a problem. My doctor told me it was a possibility when I started the drug. I googled it and the symptoms of having a bad reaction were EXACTLY what I was experiencing. The website for the drug mentions that this was a possibility.

Everyone is posting “Well, I don’t have any problems. I drink this every day. You’re probably just developing side effects for some reason”

I’m tired of this. Good for you! You don’t have the same problem I do. That’s awesome. That doesn’t mean that everyone had your experience.

Body text errors after iOS version 2026.26.0 update

I hope this workaround someone gave me on /r help works. I haven’t been able to post any body text since the last iOS update. Someone told me this is a common issue with iOS but I haven’t had any problems until this latest update. .

What happened to the YouTube narrator Big Daddy Stone?

He used to post on a fairly regular basis and he was also a regular voice actor for Dark Somnium. He hasn’t posted anything in three years. I can’t find anything about him and when I look at his posts, he gave no indication that he intended quitting. He just stopped posting suddenly after a fairly regular upload history.

He started showing up on my YouTube suggested videos again and I had nearly forgotten about him. I’ve started listening again and I really miss him. He has a great voice and he picked good stories to narrate.

YoMama’s fans

First off — let me be clear. I know all of the effort YoMama puts into his shows. Compared to most other hosts in the LCU, he puts a lot of thought into his job. I appreciate that. With the huge number of lazy hosts right now, it’s great to see at least one guy has a work ethic and cares about what he puts out there.

Unfortunately, I’m not his target demographic, mostly due to my age and gender. So I’m not a fan and can’t watch him for much longer than a few minutes. I’m not going to roast him for this. I appreciate that he’s a decent host and nobody is able to please everyone. So I don’t wish him any ill will.

But I really can’t stand most of his fans. Sorry. Had to say it. They don’t just seem to like him. Many of him LOVE him to the point of obsession. They think he’s the greatest ever. In the discord, you have to be very careful about what you say about YoMama. His fans get aggressive and dogpile anyone who says something they don’t like about him. They will even attack a fellow fan for giving constructive criticism. They will not stand for anything but adoration of YoMama.

I’m exaggerating a little— but only a little. I’ve got nothing more to say on it. It’s been bugging me for a while, but I don’t feel safe in the discord to complain. My discord username and my Reddit username are very different so I feel safer here. Nobody from the discord will ever find out I was the one complaining about YoMama fans. Hehe!
