Can I just swap SIM cards between iPhones on Fido? (Old phone vs new phone setup)

I’ve posted yesterday about taking the offer, but I still have a question.

I’m planning to get an iPhone 15 through Fido Certified, but I’m trying to understand if my setup will work the way I think it will.

My situation:

  • My wife has a newer iPhone (she doesn’t want to downgrade)
  • I want to use the iPhone 15 instead
  • She’s on Fido
  • I’m on Koodo

My question:
Are there any issues I should be aware of (like eSIM, carrier locks, activation problems, etc.)?

Basically, I want to take the iPhone 15 for myself and let her keep her current phone without changing plans

Aeroplan vs Cashback Am I overthinking this? (~$50K annual spend, economy travel, low flexibility, household setup included)

Hey everyone,

I’m trying to figure out whether I should stick with cashback or focus more on Aeroplan points, but I feel like my situation sits in a bit of a “middle zone” and I’m not sure what actually makes the most sense long-term.

Here’s my situation:

  • Total credit card spend (personal + household impact):
    • 2023: ~$42,028
    • 2024: ~$46,349
    • 2025: ~$58,397
  • My cards:
    • Amex Cobalt
    • CIBC Aeroplan Visa
    • Considering Wealthsimple 2% cashback
  • My wife:
    • Neo Mastercard Elite (cashback)
    • All Costco spending goes through her card
  • Travel habits:
    • I don’t have much flexibility with travel dates
    • I always fly economy
    • I usually book when needed, not strategically
    • I typically travel long-haul to South America from Vancouver in December

Given my spending level, household setup (Neo cashback already in play + my Aeroplan + Cobalt), and the fact I usually travel long-haul to South America in December, does Aeroplan actually beat a simple cashback-heavy approach in the real world?

Am I being dumb not taking this offer ??

I’m kinda tempted on this offer because it’s a $250 discount plus $1,163 savings on an Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max Certified Pre-Owned. My Apple iPhone 12 Pro is barely hanging on, so sooner or later I’ll need a new phone anyway.

This is under my wife’s plan, and I’d only pay $15/month for 24 months. I just hate the whole locked-in contract part.

I can't study I'm losing my mind PLEASE HELP

I have an expensive final career exam coming up, and I struggle because I only seem to study when the urgency gets very close to the exam date.

That pressure works for me, but I don’t want to keep living like that. How did you successfully prepare for and pass your career exam? Thank you.

Where to buy EV in Lower Mainland

I do own a 2021 Tucson, but with the cost of gas lately, I’m thinking about switching to an EV.

I’m on my last year of paying off the car, so I’m wondering what the smartest strategy would be.

What do you all think?

I came across something pretty frustrating at the end of this trail yesterday around 6pm, someone dumped a washing machine (or dryer) there.

I didn’t record anything or get a license plate, but I did notice another person nearby with their phone, so they might have caught more details.

This kind of dumping ruins the space for everyone. Trails aren’t landfills, and it’s not okay to treat them like one.

If anyone saw anything or has info, it’d be worth reporting so this doesn’t keep happening.

Hey everyone,

I’m honestly kind of freaking out right now.

I need to study for my CSCP exam, but I just cannot concentrate. I sit down, open the material… and nothing sticks. My brain just goes somewhere else or I start avoiding it completely.

I also have ADHD and I’m on Vyvanse (20 mg), but it doesn’t seem to be helping much with studying, which makes this even more frustrating.

I really need to get this done, but I feel stuck.

If anyone here has:

  • passed the CSCP
  • dealt with ADHD while studying
  • or just struggled with focus in general

How did you actually do it?

I’m not looking for perfect routines, just real things that worked for you.
Even small tips would mean a lot right now.

Thanks in advance
