Will Cassian die?!

i read somewhere that the entire NC is still alive and that Elain predicted that it would not take a lot to kill Cassian SO DOES THAT MEAN HE WILL DIE?! NOOO! Nesta just got her happiness, he can't die now!

Also what do you all think about this book being centered around Nesta? I think sjm rly loved her as a character so maybe we will get three books for feyre, three for nesta?

Personally, I'd love more of nesta and her pov !

Thoughts?

Political science and psychology notes for 150

Hello everyone

I am a fresher in college who gave class 12th boards this year. I got a 97 in political science and I am selling my entire subject's notes for 150 (limited offer discount) and then it will be for 200 later.

The notes are clear, concise, to-the-point and even my teachers asked for them for the junior classes because some children are not good at remembering points, but since my notes are brief, even if you have a problem with difficult concepts or timelines, you will be able to memorise everything easily.

Every difficult concept of psychology is explained in the easiest possible way. My notes are the reason I was able to get a 97 in boards, I'll even attach a photo of my marksheet for proof.

If anyone is interested, kindly DM me on reddit and we can connect. I will send you the pdf of the whole syllabus :)

Does anyone find Feyre being the HL misogynistic and elitist?

Or is it just me?
Before I start, let me address that I know this is a "cutesy romantasy" and not some hyper-epic political fantasy. I know. Some of you might read this take of mine and tell me it's "not that deep", but here's the thing: as an avid reader and a writer myself, I do believe that every book, no matter what its trope and genre, should make sense. I mean, people use ACOTAR books to justify leaving their abusive partners, reconciling with their families, finding themselves under years of hatred, etc., etc.; then why aren't people like me allowed to address the genuinely problematic things the books are depicting?

As per the title, I need you all to know that I will be focusing on Feyre as a person and not Rhys or their romantic relationship. First of all, let me ask you a question: If one strips away Rhys, what is left of Feyre? If your answer is making you second-guess it, welcome, fellow thinker! I read a take on Reddit itself about Feyre being reduced to "Trad wife", and I couldn't agree more. That take said that in the first book, before she went with Tamlin, Feyre had a personality. She was a huntress; she was smart, calculating, cunning; she knew how to sell stuff and make a living; she knew about their problematic men in their village, who to steer clear of, who to be close with-- she had a personality.
After ACOMAF, she was nothing but "Rhys's mate". I made another post about how SJM loves Rhys like a "boy-mom" and therefore ends up nerfing every good character so in the end they all essentially end up being in his orbit, with him as the Sun.
In my opinion, the same thing happened with Feyre. SJM either lost interest in her as a character or got too attached to her male character, AKA Rhysand.

Now, coming to what I meant by the title...
The Night Court is a literal nation of sorts. People of all backgrounds exist here, and Rhys is essentially depicted as this ultimate, heart-of-gold, perfect Ruler for them. Unless you have only recently joined this fandom, you already know the criticisms he faces for the way he governs his people. Rhys might be your ultimate shadow-daddy, but he is not a good politician. He lets women be oppressed under his rule, does nothing for the civilians dwelling in lower sections of his nation, and ignores the rough situation in war camps so much that his own armies end up hating him. Yeah, those are not the characteristics of a good leader.
Cherry on top, ✨Feyre✨. For this, I will be using small, simple sentences so you understand the blatant ridiculousness of the situation.
She was illiterate.
She barely has any experience as a Fae.
She is practically infant-age in Fae terms.
She has no experience whatsoever in the military, politics, or diplomacy.
Yet she is given the highest possible position in her country. You know what it is called when it happens in real life? Corruption.
It just shows that Feyre here was given everything on a silver platter because of her husband dearest. Look me in the eye and tell me that if Rhys hadn't "chosen" her, she would be who she is.
Everything Feyre has is courtesy of her old husband, who essentially groomed her.
We see this inexperienced female make decisions for the governance of her country. Do you ever think about how unfair it all is? In the NC, there could be a person who genuinely deserved that opportunity but would never get it. Hell, I'd even vote Cassian to be next to Rhys cuz at least he'd know what the fuck he was doing. Feyre lived in the NC for barely a year before being promoted to its "President" of sorts. How is she expected to rule over a country she hasn't even lived in? She doesn't know the people, the culture, the economy, nada!

I hate this trope from the bottom of my heart because it just cements that the woman is quite literally nothing without her man.

SJM could have shown us that Feyre genuinely climbed up the ranks, or had some hidden mind for politics. She could have used her poverty-stricken past to make her empathise with the folks in the Hewn City or War camps, but no. Feyre's promotion to High Lady is not some feminist act on Rhys's behalf; it is pure elitism in the world of fantasy, which many would argue is supposed to fight against it. Moreover, historically speaking, fantasy has always been about fighting against hierarchy and corruption and undeserving rulers, but I swear SJM undid all of that with just Feyre. Even Tamlin, who the whole fandom hates for some reason, was a better ruler than Rhys. He actively wanted to fight the oppression, and people in his court enjoyed equality, unlike in the NC
I said what I said.

At the end, I know there are differing opinions, so kindly keep them polite and reasonable. I'd love to hear all of your thoughts! :D

Let's make mini headcannons

I did thid on another subreddit adn the results were so hilarious (in a good way). Basically I give a small situation and you guys add on to how you think it would go. Or you are free to make your own scenarios as well!

Let's go. This is my situation: I want to see Hunt and Ruhn with the Batboys. Maybe they got stuck in some inter-world situation or are just hanging out while the girls (nesta, bryce, lidia etc ) chat and do other girly stuff and the boys are forced to "bond"

I can just see Hunt and Cass making subtle jabs at each other's muscles or Ruhn trynna provoke Azriel (hunt would definitely call him a "ray of sunshine" sarcastically)

Show me your creativity people!

Do u all think we'll get a gwyn pov?

There is debate about whose pov we will get in the next books, and i really want one to be gwyn's. I mean her story is still not complete yet. Nesta had cassian, emerie was shown having feelings for mor, the others all have partners or some sort of speculation (el and lucien) but until acosf gwyn wasn't shown to be mingling with anyone. Yes her past is quite brutal and maybe that plays a part in her not having a partner yet.

But i really really want gwyn's pov and obvs i want her with azriel cuz they just make sense. Moreover, I'd love a lucien pov too cuz why not 🤭

Ps- there is also some debate that maybe nesta's story isn't over yet and i personally would love more of her !!

What are you all's thoughts?

There was so much wasted potential in the ACOTAR X CC crossover

I mean, come on, SJM could have rewarded us with some alpha-hole banter between Hunt and Cassian! I would pay money to see the two of them go at it, comparing their muscles and wingspan. CAN YOU IMAGINE HUNT'S REACTION WHEN HE FINDS OUT THAT WINGSPAN EQUALS D SIZE!? I can imagine him pestering Bryce to check 😭
And, before you come at me, yes, the Bryce, Nesta, and Azriel bonding time was good, but still. There could have been a few comments about being with winged guys between the girls, or IDK, just something more!
We could have gotten a glimpse of Nyx!

SJM ruined Cassian's character herself

TW: Rhysand glazers read at your own risk. I hate Rhys and his cult with a seething passion, and if this offends you, then kindly skip.

Cassian was actually my favourite character when I first read the series: Funny, kind, loyal, warm, smexy. I have always had a knack for the golden retriever, happy men more than the eloquent, oh-so-posh MMCs. I've always found that the former are much more human, and that authors, in their urge to become popular, end up making their main MMCs so damn perfect that they stop being human. Humans have flaws; they joke, they make mistakes, they get teased by their friends, they get caught off guard —most of the romantasy MMCs nowadays are just unfazed, "perfect" archetypes.
But that's just my opinion. Now coming back to Cassian.

While I am not a published, SJM-level author yet, I have been writing for years now, and when one writes, we don't just read other authors; we start analysing their work from an entierly different lens. Ask any author friend of yours-- we don't just enjoy the story; we analyse and review how the author wrote this prose, used the poetic devices, weaponised their author voice and most importantly, how they built their characters. You see, the thing is, characters are like our children. In fact, more than that. These are humans (in the broad sense) that we have absolute control over as authors. It's almost like a god-like thing where we decide everything that shapes them to behave as who they are. We decide their entire mind to its deepest depths, and it's not just their backstories and trauma; we get to decide how they react to it and cope with it.

With that being said, let's look at Cassian.
SJM is known for introducing these folds in the story that sometimes disappear without a trace over time. Take the example of Mor, Az, and Cass in the first books. There was certainly some sort of awkward triangle going on between them that SJM hinted at (Cass slept with Mor, Az liked Mor, Az may have felt bitter towards Cass, yada yada) but over time we see none of that and the change is quite sudden. In the bonus scene, we see how Az has completely moved past Mor and now is into Elain or maybe Gwyn even-- that is messy but not our point here.
Our point is that Cass in Feyre's books was this loyal, heart-of-gold character who had a strong moral compass despite being an occasional flirt. We know him as someone sympathetic towards women's trauma; he's an honourable male; he tries to help people through their trauma patiently (like he did when Feyre was punching his punching pads and she nearly set them on fire while crying, and he was like, "go on, I'm right here"). We see him being patient and understanding towards Nesta's self-loathing and crippling trauma in a similar manner.

But here's where it gets interesting. After reading ACOSF, it became my ultimate favourite. Nesta and Cass were my baes, and I didn't understand the people who shipped her with Eris instead, because to me Cass was this ultimate mountain ready to weather down Nesta's storm. And essentially, Nesta's story wasn't just about romance, unlike Feyre's. Nesta's story was centred around finding herself among her friends and making peace with her sisters and her accepting her Fae-ness. Cassian was there to help her THROUGH it, not to be the ultimate result of her recovery. I loved their mountain hike scene where she breaks down, and he comforts her. It really shows that Cass didn't fix Nesta; he stood by and picked up her broken pieces while she mended them herself. Cass wasn't her medicine.

Which is what made those scenes where he dumps her for Rhysand absolutely uncharacteristic.

You see, Rhys is SJM's best-selling character. She has been very vocal about loving him and his myriad of secrets that even Feyre doesn't know (that's a hot take for another time).
SJM literally can not afford to villainise Rhys now. Not only cuz of the money, but watching her interviews, I doubt she really sees the darkness of what she has created. As a vague example, imagine a boy mom who rightfully loves her son, but so much so that she point-blank refuses to notice the genuinely wrong things he does. Loving someone is not accepting all their actions, because humans are messy and even if you have lived over 500 years, you ought to make mistakes. But as I mentioned, MMCs just "have to be perfect" nowadays cuz messy and real and human are not "hot".

What I'm trying to say is that SJM nerfed Cass's character simply to enable Rhys's bad behaviour. Period.
Yes, not telling Feyre of her pregnancy was problematic.
Yes, getting mad at Nesta for telling her sister that she might die was problematic.
Yes, threatening >!Nesta for giving the Mask to Bryce!< was also problematic at some level. (To Rhys's credit, it was justified at some level, too, but there were many other ways of dealing with it).

Cass is often shamed for not standing by Nesta, but people don't understand that it's not Cassian who glazes Rhys; it's SJM.
Cass is a vessel, a mere medium to glaze Rhys forever. The "strongest high lord in history", the charming "feminist king", the "green-flag" guy who sacrificed so much for his people-- all those parts of Rhys's identity die if his crutches AKA, his IC, stop defending him. And SJM can't afford that, or she doesn't want to accept that her 'son' can ever do wrong, cuz then she'll be accepting that somewhere along the way, she fucked up the plot of her own story.

In a well-constructed story, a character's morality comes from their internal core. But in ACOSF, Cassian’s moral compass gets constantly overridden whenever it threatens Rhys’s image as the "Feminist King."
If Cassian acted the way his core character was established—if he stood up, slammed his fist on the table, and said, "Rhys, you are completely out of line for hiding this from Feyre, and you will NOT talk to my mate like that"—the entire illusion of Rhys's perfection breaks down. SJM couldn't let that illusion break, so she sacrificed Cassian's integrity instead.

Don't mistake this for SJM hate.
You see, SJM as an author needed a way to get Nesta and Cass in proximity; therefore, she wrote the plot in such a way that the IC accuses her of ruining herself and locks her in the House of Wind. It was for the plot's convenience. SJM needed a way to keep the story going and to show how Nesta "retracts her claws" and makes peace with her sisters; therefore, Feyre's risky pregnancy. She needed a way for everyone to "hate" Nesta again so that she can finally break down in front of Cassian; therefore, the angry way in which she reveals the pregnancy risk to Feyre, and how the others kept it from her. She needed a way to make this book of hers different from Feyre and Rhys's story and to be more spicy, therfore the Kelpie scene was not handled with the fluff readers complain about not getting, but with a smutty scene instead.

In conclusion, this is one of those situations where the writers are blamed for how a show is proceeding. We saw it in GoT with Daenerys burning King's Landing, we saw it in FRIENDS with how the writers nerfed Rachel's character, we saw it in Modern Family with how the writers reduced Haley's potential. I know none of those shows is similar to ACOTAR, but they are examples of how a character ends up doing the most uncharacteristic things because of the writers.
In this case, it happened because SJM doesn't want to accept that her son Rhys can ever do any wrong.

Ergo, I refuse to believe Cass wouldn't stand up for his mate. I refuse to believe he would be mad at her for >!loaning Bryce the Mask!<. I. Refuse. To. Believe. He. Only. Cares. For. Sex.
His entire character arc, his own story, his depth was crippled simply because of RHYSAND.

In the end, I know a lot of people will have opposing thoughts, and they are more than welcome as long as they are kept civil. Stories are meant to be discussed, so stop hating on opinions, and no, this is not a "troll-post".
Thank you for reading this long-ass thesis. Do share your thoughts :D
Peace XO

(IND) What is required to get recognised by Australia's psych society for a master's in psych at Australia

I'm from India and am currently enrolled in a multidisciplinary BA program in Philosophy and Psychology (In India). I will choose Psych as my major, and the course offers us the choice of staying for a 4th year or not.
My question is: does doing that 4th year make me eligible for a master's in Australia for psych? Can someone here with similar experience share their thoughts and guidance?

I mean, how do international students even get into Masters at Australia? My ultimate plan is to get into research and teaching, not clinical psych or therapy.
What do I need to do to get accepted by APAC for a master's or PhD?

What happened to Balerion the Black Dread?

I haven't read the books, so apologies in advance if this is dumb, but can some more literate fan explain to me how Balerion, being the biggest and most terrifying dragon, is the only one who seemed to die from natural causes? I read a theory that Balerion did not die because we have never heard of any other dragon dying of old age, and honestly, aren't dragons supposed to be like, hella immortal? I know even they die after a very, very long time, but I just find it kind of odd that the old, peaceful Viserys we saw at the beginning of the show rode one of the most fearful, legendary dragons, and that fact is... just overlooked.

If Balerion died, Viserys was dragon-less; then why was he still king? Like, dragons were the main "thing" for the Targs, right? Rhaena said it in S3: "Worse. I am a Targaryen without a dragon."
And we never even see Viserys mention Balerion, even out of reminiscence or anything. I know he was respected for being peaceful and all, but one would assume that early-season Daemon would use his dragonlessness as a reason to dethrone or belittle him.

Also, when he died, what did they do to the giant body? Obviously they couldn't bury it. And they couldn't have burned it because in Game of Thrones we see that his skull is kept in the Red Keep, so how did it reach there? I don't think they would have cut his head or kept the whole body preserved in the castle lol.

Anyway, this was just a thing I noticed, not really a genuine question. I really hope we get a show or movie where we see Balerion because he is honestly so fascinating. There are said to be bigger dragons than him in Old Valyria, and I don't understand why the directors and producers aren't jumping at the chance to make a show or movie about that, even though the fandom has been very vocal about wanting one.

Anyway, peace 💅
