Self-taught podcast editor looking for a pro to walk me through their workflow (Berlin or remote) ☕

Hi! I run post-production for a German-speaking sports podcast with 100k monthly viewers/listeners. I’m not a trained editor, but I’m the one cutting it, and with 1-2 episodes a week schedule I don’t have time for full courses.

Setup: 3× 4K multicam, 2 audio tracks, Adobe Premiere Pro.

Goal: a leaner workflow, faster clip production, and using AI tools wherever it actually makes sense.

I’d love to sit down with an experienced editor for an hour, either over coffee in Berlin or on a call, and just see what you use and how your workflow looks. Coffee’s on me!

DM me. Thanks!

Rebuilding our 3-Cam Podcast Setup – Need Gear Feedback

Hey everyone,

We are currently rebuilding our multicam recording setup from scratch. Previously, we were shooting pretty basic "raw" setups using three first-gen Sony ZV-E10s.

Our main use case is an indoor studio podcast (3-camera setup) combined with on-location vlogs/interviews in changing locations.

We’re evaluating three potential upgrade paths and would love some real-world input from anyone running similar setups. Price is indeed a factor, so we are trying to keep costs as low as possible.

Option A: Hybrid Setup

  • A-Cam (Studio Main / Portable Vlog): Sony A7 IV + Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 Di III VXD G2
  • B-Cam (Host): Sony ZV-E10 II + Sigma 30mm f/1.4 DC DN
  • C-Cam (Guest): Sony ZV-E10 II + Sigma 56mm f/1.4 DC DN

Option B: All Full-Frame

  • A-Cam: Sony A7 IV + Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8
  • B- & C-Cams: 2x Used Sony A7 III + 28-75mm f/2.8 Zooms
  • Goal: Matching full-frame look across all angles, full-sized HDMI ports, no crop factor mismatch, and zoom flexibility on static cameras.

Option C: FX30 B-Cams

  • A-Cam: Sony A7 IV + Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8
  • B- & C-Cams: 2x Sony FX30 + Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8 DC DN Zooms
  • Goal: Internal cooling fans for long recording sessions, full-sized HDMI, robust bodies, but keeping budget lower than 3x A7 IVs.

Questions:

  1. Versatility & Outdoor : Will Option A (A7 IV + 2x ZV-E10 II) hold up well for the next 1–2 years, or will we regret using the ZV-E10 IIs when shooting in uncontrolled outdoor/location environments?
  2. Workflow & Color Matching: Is mixing Full-Frame (A7 IV) and APS-C (ZV-E10 II / FX30) going to be a nightmare in post-production when color grading S-Log3, or are the modern Sony colors close enough to make matching seamless?
  3. Is Option B or C worth the extra cash? For those doing long multicam video podcasts, do full-sized HDMI ports and active cooling (FX30/A7 series) make a big enough practical difference to jump ship from the ZV-E10 IIs?
  4. Used Gear Market: Any reliable platforms or red flags to watch out for when buying used Sony A7 III / A7 IV bodies or Tamron/Sigma glass?

Thanks in advance for any insights!

THIS keeps happening!?

Editing multicam podcasts. Switched from MacBook Air to MacBook Pro M5 24GB because my Premiere kept freezing. I am already using an external SSD (Samsung T7 2TB) and proxies. How can I prevent this from happening every time?

Managing a 15k+ listener sports pod solo & drowning in workflows. Any pros open to a chat/mentorship?

Dear podcast people,

I just graduated from business school and am turning into full-time podcasting. The catch: I am learning everything from scratch.

German-speaking podcast, guest-based format, average 10k–15k listeners per ep, occasional peaks of 50k–60k.

There are only two of us running this, and my role consists of basically everything operations-related: recording, editing, cutting, social media, editorial planning, communication, etc.

The problem: I am completely drowning in the workload. I know that doing one episode a week should be manageable, but I desperately lack the proper workflows and tool mastery to make it efficient.

I am looking to connect with some skilled, experienced podcast producers or editors who might be generous enough to jump on a quick call, share some knowledge, or look over my current setup.

I want to understand how a professional podcast is managed top-to-bottom:

  • File management: How are raw files recorded, transferred, and stored cleanly?
  • Hardware & software
  • Editing & post-prod: What templates are best for speed without sacrificing quality?
  • Social media pipe: How is the editing workflow linked to social media clipping? Best tools?
  • Editorial: When and how are content decisions made efficiently?
  • Analytics: Which KPIs to track? How?

I don’t want to bog this post down with every single micro-detail, but I think getting a high-level view of standard professional workflows would be life-changing for me right now.

If anyone is willing to mentor or just share some wisdom, please drop a comment or send me a message.

I’d immensely appreciate it!
