Yesterday I posted asking for help with my PC. Since then I've figured out that the bluescreens were caused by corrupted AMD drivers. No BSOD while gaming or video watching since I reinstalled them.

I have fixed that, but one weird problem still persists. The computer is ostensibly connected to the internet. It can see the ethernet connection and has at one point even loaded part of a subreddit page. However, the connection is EXTREMELY slow to the point of being virtually nonexistent.

In the task manager, most programs show either 0.1 or just 0 Mbps. When I check the Ethernet Status from the Control Panel, the speed is literally just a few kilobytes per second.

I have tried DISM, ipconfig /renew, winsock reset, and updating the Realtek GbE drivers. Even on Safe Mode it still wont connect. I frankly don't know what else I could do. Do I have any other options?

i'm on win10 (update KB5120249), gigabyte b550 gaming x v2, ryzen 7 5700x, rx 6700xt, 3x8gb ram

EDIT: Got it working! i tried dozens of things but plugging the ethernet cable into a usb adapter did the trick in the end

i'm on a custom pc with win10 (just got an update to ver. 22H2 KB5120249) on a ryzen 7 5700x, rx 6700XT gpu and 3x8gb ddr4 ram.

for the past few days i've been getting BSODs while gaming. The two codes i've managed to catch were MEMORY_MANAGEMENT and IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL. after one bsod, the pc wouldn't boot until i took out my older ram sticks, but after putting them back in it still boots and neither the windows ram checker nor MemTest found any errors, so i think the problem might be related to gpu drivers?

either way, the pc can barely connect to the internet now. Every program/process shows a maximum speed of like 0.1 mbps in the task manager, despite my connection on other devices (like this laptop) working fine.

everywhere ive looked offers generic solutions like "make sure your router has internet access" (it does) or "contact your ISP" (not gonna be helpful in this case) but nothing to help in this specific problem.

i've been trying to reinstall my graphics drivers (i'm p sure i've heard that windows update can mess up your amd gpu drivers, which i suspect is what happened) but the installer doesn't seem to work with this lack of connection. it's stuck at the "Detecting your system configuration for driver and software compatibility" screen.

i have done a DISM and SFC check, and as mentioned, am trying to reinstall the gpu drivers. What else can i check, what could be the problem?

I think it was very cute how Joel invited his wife to do something small on hermitcraft on his account. I've said it before but I think it would be very cute and romantic if the hermits invited their partners for valentine's day, kinda like when they had the Metro Mayhem competition day or the Decked Out II invitationals (which was afaik skizz's first time on the server?)

Po nějaký době táta zavzpomínal na film co viděl když mu bylo cca 14, těsně před revolucí (cca 86-89). bohužel si o něm pamatuje asi tak tři věci:

• bylo to hraný
• byly tam cool roboti/drony co přiletěly oknem a kombinovaly se
• byla to spíš komedie
• dávali to v kinech, myslím

už jsem se ptal na r/tokusatsu a r/mecha, kde na to nikdo nepřišel. napadlo mě, že by tady mohlo být dost lidí co si tu dobu pamatujou, a možná by i věděli, co to bylo za film, jako zahraniční film ot určitě bylo super hustý

it was the late 80s in czechoslovakia, before the fall of the communist regime. sadly my dad remembers almost nothing about it, other than the fact that:

• it was live action
• there were cool robots/drones that flew in through the windows and possibly combined
• it was comedic
• it was shown in czechoslovak cinemas in around '86-'90-ish

it may not have even been japanese, but like i said, my dad remembers really enjoying it and he's sad that he has no further leads.

EDIT: i asked in r/czech and a suggestion i got is a hong kong movie called Aces Go Places 2 which seemed a lot more familiar to my dad! still not 100%, as he said he remembers more the impression of the movie than the movie itself, but hong kong / china-toku seems to be more likely

My dad is in a theatre play which is written entirely in Latin. He has to learn the proper rhythm of the language, alternating stressed and unstressed syllables. However it's not classical Latin since they pronounce "vici" as "vitsi". He has said that it's probably baroque Latin, but he was incredulous when I said that classical Latin was pronounced like that, with c used for <k> and <g>.

So, how did linguists find out how classical Latin phonology worked? One of the references Wikipedia listed is W. Sydney Allen, how did his work (and others, no need to fixate on him) come to be?

I'd love to play around with some vehicle models from the game in blender. I saw a person on tumblr posting their ripped voicelines. textures and even the model of the Big Chief, but no guides or even the name of the program used.

Does anyone on here know what program it was and ideally at least something about how to use it?
