Interior leak

My 99 super duty is leaking water into the interior. It seems to be doing it when it rains. Thses pics are from a few weeks ago when we had torrential rains. Now it's been sitting for about 10 days and is leaking again. I check the AC evap drain and it's not plugged. Is it possible for it to come through the fresh air inlet?

Engine swap

Thinking of getting rid of the 4.2 in the 89. Should I just do a 4.0 or should I throw something else in there? Whatever it is it's gonna be fuel injected.

To reuse or not?

So the truck did some sitting before I got it. Putting new caliper and rotor on it but the pads don't look terrible. They got me the wrong rotors so since I have to wait. Do I use the pads ? I'm leaning towards swap everything.

Scraping when braking.

So I see that the axle seal is leaking. But that doesn't seem to be getting to the brakes. I don't see anything that would cause the drums to make a scraping sound. I cleaned the one out a couple weeks ago and thought that was it but it's still doing it. I'm not super familiar with drums but I don't see anything out of whack. I think dude we bought it from had the shoes too tight because there's some glazing on the drum. It's an 89 with a 4.2.

Drag link assembly

So gf got this jeep last year and had her mechanic check it over. He listed a few things but not the drag link assembly. I personally thought everything was pretty loose asked him and he said it wasn't terrible. Well now it's making noise. I thought it was the dual stabilizer I put on and took off the stock one. Now I put the stock one back on and it's still banging. Probably 2-300 miles since then due to my broken neck. Does need a whole new assembly? I know you can do parts put it's just as easy to swap the whole thing.

So it begins. Performance upgrade.

So I decided I was just gonna get a hydra chip for my nice clean old 7.3 and I just had to try it on the higher HP tune setting. Ugh. Now I need a new VB, trans cooler and gauges.

Paslode : Experience endless nailing.

Except when you're out of gas or battery. Or if it's not between 68° and 72° or the humidity isn't just right.

I'm over these guns. Thinking of the Milwaukee framer but it's so GD heavy.

Ball Joints

So last weekend we went for a trail ride and something started rattling in the front. I just started troubleshooting and saw this ball joint. I've never seen one this way before, but I watched a YouTube video and his looked similar. To me that's not seated all the way. I've done them on a few rigs and they were always tighter.

Big rig challenge.

Anyone been out to the big rig challenge in Onaway?

It's about the most redneck thing ever. Also it's amazing.

Turnover ball question?

So my 99 Super duty has a turnover ball it's rusted in place. The truck overall isn't too rusty and I think I can break it loose but haven't looked too closely at it. Does the lock pin go all the way through where I could get an air hammer on the other side to knock it loose? I've always used either bumper pull stuff or pintle hitch stuff never a gooseneck.

Off to the ORV fun run with all of the classics.

The truck is a 99, Jeep is a 89 and the trailer is a 98. Was a good day but something started clunking around on the jeep, so now I get to hunt that down.

Went and looked at a spec house another builder is having done. This is what I found for the slider. I grew up around this stuff and anything within like an 1/8 was ok for most places. (Now it's 1/16) I told his PM and he says I'll shim it. Do you make the sub fix it on his dime or shim it and let it go? The actual builder has no idea about it as he never goes out on site.

Edit: I'll be calling the actual owner/ builder tomorrow and letting him know this shit is like that. He has a few framing crews he uses. Some do decent work and then walked into this mess.

This is probably a long shot, but my gf has a fusion sport with direct injection. She just broke over 105,000 was thinking of getting the upper intake blasted. Is there any shops in town that would offer this? I'd rather just take it to someone and have it done than to tear it down take it for blast and put it back together later.

So my Gf's boss didn't winterize his doos. One is a gti 130 and the other is a 155. He wants me to do oil changes and plugs on them, I said I'd have to see what's likely to be damaged from not being taken care of before I touch them. I looked at the 155 and saw it's liquid cooled so that's a plus. He started it for about 2 seconds and it started pissing water out so there was definitely some left, and we got -20°f temps this winter. Thoughts?

I'm not really familiar with the newer ones.

Need a new set. Probably for framing, just got back into the trades, my last set seems to have wandered off. I'm a sub on a crew that does new builds bottom to top. Suggestions?

Preferably 200 and under. Was kinda eyeing a DeWalt set.
