Custom 3D printed stand for Layla

She is my favorite so I made a custom stand for her. It's not perfect but it works. I gave it a thick coat of clear varnish to remove the lines and then I sprayed with metallic purple trying to not cover all the original pink underneath.

The original stand is not my creation, nor are the crystals I used around her feet. I just downloaded them and mixed everything in blender. I'm not a creative person so I need other people,s merits to do anything.

Where do you buy doll hair?

I was about to reroot an old Monster High with hair extensions from temu. I live in Spain and here I don't know about any shop that sells doll hair. On temu or AliExpress there,s hair for the small bjd dolls, but not long enough for a Barbie type body.

The human extensions are soft and look real, but they feel like polypropylene (too soft, thick and straight). IDK if I will make a mistake, this doll has been rerooted several times already and her scalp is going to fall apart soon, so I dont think she will survive a corrective reroot.

Help?

Brawler D5

First, I want to say I'm no expert at this game. I'm still dependent on online guides and Reddit posts. I just wanted to share my random victory!

I focused on HP, Armor, Attack Speed, Melee Damage, and Dodge, but also picked one or two Speed upgrades. I just grabbed the first stat I could benefit from, trying to reroll as little as possible. In the shop, I bought anything useful and only rerolled 2–4 times max.

I didn't care about Range, so I could buy "Little Muscley Dude" without trouble. "Coffee" was a mistake at first, but later got corrected by "Power Generator". I picked up "Gambling Token" since I had a lot of Armor but not enough Dodge. I wanted a bunch of "Garden", "Tree", and "Fruit Basket" for sustenance, but I think "Adrenaline" and "Retromation's Hoodie" were what truly saved the day for me. I had never used "Wisdom" before, so I didn't know if it was any good. And obviously, "Riposte", "Baby Gecko", "Medal", "Potato", "Mammoth", "White Flag", and "Boxing Glove" are always a must.

I guess I was lucky that the run gave me every correct item in a row so I didn't have to think too much. Anyways, I'm taking the win and never looking back, haha!

Tiny feet?

Hey everyone! I’m primarily an MG (Monster High) and RH (Rainbow High) collector, but I recently decided to branch out and bought my very first Barbie, a Basics 07.

I took her out of the box and got her unclad to get a feel for the body and texture, and I was loving her at first. The face mold is fantastic, less cartoonish, smaller eyes, normal makeup. Her body isn’t super exaggerated, and her waist and thighs feel way more natural compared to the stylized MH silhouettes. And then... I looked down.

Y’all. WHAT IS GOING ON WITH HER FEET?! 💀

They are ridiculously, impossibly small. They’re literally smaller than her hands! Coming from MH and RH where shoes are practically art pieces with huge platforms, carved details, and chunky silhouettes, looking at this Barbie’s feet gave me genuine visual whiplash.

She looks like someone accidentally scaled down her lower legs in Photoshop by 50% and printed her anyway. She looks like she’s trying to balance her entire body on two salted cashews. I am having a full-on existential crisis looking at these tiny plastic pegs.

Is this just something you get used to as a Barbie collector, or do you all immediately rebody them/hide them in long pants and tall boots? Please tell me I’m not the only one who had a total generational trauma over this!

Turns out I never quit playing gacha, I just moved it to my shelf

I realized today that I have way too many dolls and zero space, but there's no way I can part with any of them. They’re all special, some have incredible outfits, and others are just awesome characters I really relate to.

It reminds me of when I used to play Genshin Impact. A lot of us would pull for characters just for their design or lore, never actually intending to use them in combat, just because they were pretty. Collecting dolls feels like the exact same vibe.

We're literally playing a real-life gacha. When we love a character, we get them. Plus, if the server ever goes down, we actually get to keep our collection!

I realized my bosses don’t want me to do a good job, they just want me to fake it. So I did

I had a massive epiphany at work today, and honestly, I just need to vent.

To give you some context: I consider myself a bit of an awkward person. I’m not spontaneous, I’m terrible at small talk, and my interests are super niche. On top of that, I have Multiple Sclerosis. Because of my MS, I move and talk a bit differently, which gives off an "uncanny valley" vibe to some people. As a result, I don’t have friends, and frankly, I don’t even care to try anymore because it’s just too exhausting. I’ve accepted that a lot of people will treat me with indifference or flat-out rudeness. It’s my normal. Despite all this, I have a very positive, "Disney-like" attitude. I try my best, I’m an absolute try-hard at everything I do, and I constantly worry about not being a burden to others.

When I got hired as a cashier two months ago, I gave it 110%. I wanted to do my job flawlessly and I was extremely nice to my coworkers.

Here’s the catch: I have 5 different managers above me in this store. Each one of them runs the place differently. What one manager tells you to do completely contradicts what another wants. If you follow Manager A's orders, Manager B gets furious at you. They are just generally unpleasant people, both for good and bad reasons. Yet I kept trying my best.

But today, my main manager was exceptionally cruel. She screamed at me, telling me I don't think, that I do things mindlessly, and that I was "carrying heavy loads twice because I wasn't using my brain," all while aggressively tapping her temple with her fingers. None of what I did was mindless. Everything had a reason. If I load a cart with merchandise, I have to unload it when I'm done. That's a rule I’ve been following—along with all my coworkers—for the two months I’ve been here, even under her specific supervision. But I guess she was in a bad mood.

I immediately wanted to burst into tears. Fortunately, I was in the warehouse, so I let it out where nobody could see me. By the time I went back down to the floor, I was fine.

But then, she screamed at me again. Today was brutally hot, the store’s AC wasn't on, and the warehouse was a literal oven. Sweat was dripping into my eyes and soaking my shirt. The urge to cry hit me a second time, and every time I cried, my brain just started shutting down more and more.

Two hours before the end of my shift, she screamed at me again. By this point, I had no tears left. My brain completely gave up. She was yelling that my coworker and I were taking eight hours just to check four shelves. In reality, those eight hours were spent running the cash register, helping endless customers, baking bread, restocking the produce section, and dealing with crises like running out of bags, running out of coins for change, and a trash can literally smoking because someone threw a lit cigarette in it. But I wasn't even trying to argue back in my head anymore. I just wanted to go home and sleep.

So, I filled the cart with the remaining stock, but this time, I didn’t do my job.

This time, I just glanced at the products, shoved a few things onto the shelves haphazardly, and dumped all the rest back into the warehouse.

My manager’s reward? She looked at me and said: "See? I knew you could move faster."

And right then, it hit me. That’s what I was supposed to be doing all along. Instead of actually doing my job right, I was supposed to pretend to do it at an unrealistically fast pace just to look good in front of my boss.

Suddenly, everything made sense. I finally understood why the fresh milk always expires on the shelves (they put the newest bottles at the front to save time). I understood why the back of the shelves is a disaster, with products crushed or falling to the floor (they violently cram the entire box onto the shelf just so they don't have to bring it back to the warehouse, proving how much they "restocked," regardless of whether there's actually room). I understood why there are so many broken items (when you rush that fast, cans, bags, and glass jars constantly drop).

Now, I have to go through a process of acceptance that will probably take me a few weeks. I know I’m going to cry a lot because I truly love my "rainbow world" where people are kind and things are done right. But eventually, I will mourn the death of that ideal, and I will accept reality.

I'm officially done trying. From now on, I'm just playing the game.

Update on Groucho and a failed Groucho-land

I've seen people making houses for their pigeons. I'm not a creative person, so I copied some ideas. I think she has mixed feelings about it, so I'm going to throw it away and try a different setup. Also, she tries to eat the duct tape, so I have to look for something else to keep things together.

She poops outside the nest, so her poop falls, splatters and gets everywhere. I already tried using cardboard flaps and now a cardboard house, but nothing works. Maybe I will just make a cardboard fence and see if she poops inside. I clean every day, so if I can get her to poop inside, I will put a big plastic tray down to clean more easily. Any tips to keep everything clean are welcome.

Also, I realized her nails are too long. I'm going to buy a cat clipper today and convince my mother to help me. There are YouTube videos with tips for this difficult task.

She used to fly away every morning and come back a few times to eat. That's actually the behavior I was expecting (my boyfriend's grandpa used to raise pigeons, and that's what he tells me they do naturally), but lately she just stays on the balcony, jumping from the rail to her nest and back.

So I thought about enriching the environment for her. The ideas I have seen are just nesting bedding with different textures and hard-to-get food.

I also definitely have to give her a bath dish, because she doesn't want to bathe in the sink like she used to do a month ago.

Lastly, when I pet her, sometimes she starts cooing and pecking at my hands violently, like trying to get a chunk of my skin. Does it mean I'm disturbing her? I used to hide a few sunflower seeds between my fingers do she could get used to having my hand close, maybe she wants sunflower seeds?

And now a bit of bragging. Groucho is an amazing flyer! She looks like a tiny stunt airplane, turning and doing small tricks in the air like nothing else matters. I can't watch her much because she comes back if she sees me, but sometimes I can steal a peek. I'm so happy for her.

Update on Groucho

I called her CooCoo, but my dog picks up onomatopoeias quickly and soon connected the sound with the pigeon, so now I call her Groucho (in the picture my dog can't keep her eyes out of the pigeon).

I didn't want to tell Reddit about this part because my opinion on birds is very different from this forum's opinions, but everything ended up fine, so I will spill the beans:

When her feathers grew in and her beak turned into an adult's, I decided to release her. In my opinion, pets should be taken care of based on their instincts. For example, a shepherd dog should be able to run and chase, while a Chihuahua is more suited to be pampered like a golden child. And this pigeon is made to fly and socialize with other pigeons.

So, I placed her on my balcony, on top of a wardrobe, with the windows closed so she could get used to her new nest. A few days later, I opened the windows. I know pigeons tend to return to what they consider their home, and I don't expect her to find food all by herself after being hand-raised. So, when she flew away, I left her nest with food and water, and the windows open.

Being realistic, I expected her to end up being part of the food chain—something I'm fine with, as risk is the price of freedom for everybody—but she actually came back.

Now she comes and goes multiple times during the day and spends the whole night here. I expect her to eventually meet other pigeons, find a boyfriend or girlfriend, and never come back, but for now, she is welcome here.

I'm working on a poop-proof bedding so her "bombs" don't fall to the floor and get my wardrobe dirty. Right now, she uses a cardboard square with flaps on the sides, but it's not working too well.

She seems healthy and I guess that if she comes back it's because I did something right.

Please keep the hateful comments to yourselves. I love this pigeon dearly, but I won't lock her inside. I don't care if she's used to people now, or if she won't be able to live by herself on the streets. I have an opinion on how she should live her second chance, and we can discuss that without aggression. Thanks.

All the Suite Style rooms for LOL

Edit: The title has a mistake. It's called "SUITE SPACES".

I finally have all the rooms. I don't have many LOL dolls, but I plan on getting a few more to fill this dollhouse.

First, for those who are asking me where to buy them: here, they are distributed by "Bizak". It's a Spanish distributor that works with international toys to sell them throughout Europe. So I don't know where this toy originally comes from.

Now, here is my opinion on each room and its synergy with LOL dolls. The Kawaii Gaming room, the TV room and the bathroom are just perfect. As you can see, the dolls can sit on the sofa, the bathtub and the chair, and all the accessories are the perfect size. The bedroom is a double-room box, and it's quite bare. I filled it with the Kuromi drawer and some Hello Kitty clothes and accessories. The wardrobe's drawer opens and comes with three hangers that can actually be used for the LOL clothes. The bed is also the right size for an LOL doll to lie down on. And last but not least, the kitchen. When you first assemble it, the room looks very bare, but it has a lot of potential. The oven opens fully, and the rack can be taken out. The fridge also opens and its two shelves can be removed as well. If you buy the "Miniverse Make It Mini" stuff, you can fill it up in no time. In the pictures, I used some of the bakery accessories.

In general, I don't regret the purchase at all, and I love having a place for the tiny LOLs. It's a dollhouse but in a modern version, not that old fashioned houses made with wood and no color. To me it's perfect!

Help! Pigeon only eats sunflower seeds

Today I realized my pigeon only eats sunflower seeds. She has her food and water bowls on the table, and I just noticed she isn't eating her regular food because there is no mess to clean up.

For the past two days, she has been violently pecking at my hands and feet and screaming like she's dying, just to beg for sunflower seeds. If I don't shell them or do what she wants, she starts throwing the seeds everywhere.

I swear she knows exactly what she's doing!

I've been too tired lately to pay much attention, but now I see she only eats the few sunflower seeds I give her. For now, I've stopped giving them to her, thinking that when she gets hungry enough, she will go back to eating her regular seeds. But I don't know if I'm doing the right thing.

Help?

Pigeon sleeps with a half open wing

She does this even without her sock. She sleeps with one wing half open , and she supports a bit of her body on it. It's not always the same one. Is there an explanation for this behavior?

I'm thinking about a Barbie Basics, because they seem to have good quality and I like their articulation, but I'm not very fond of the beige clothes

What's a good gift for a homeless person?

I recently found a job as a cashier. The shop is in a tourist town in Spain with a lot of English, French, Italian, and German tourists.

There's a man, maybe in his 50s or 60s, a bit overweight with a beer belly, who only speaks English. He is very tanned and looks a bit dirty, and he comes in a lot to buy beer and a little bit of food.

He is a really sweet man; he always greets me and laughs. Today, I called him "my favorite customer" and asked him if he lives nearby because he comes so often. He then confessed that he's homeless.

He comes to buy a single beer maybe thrice a day, and he always gives me the exact amount in cash. Sometimes he also buys ham or other "ready-to-eat" meat.

The place is very hot, especially now that it's summer (here we have winter and summer, with barely any in-between), but I don't know if it chills down at night.

I feel an actual pain in my chest every time I see him. He sits almost right in front of the shop all day, every day, and comes in to buy something for 85 cents or less very often, so I see him a lot.

I want to give him something to make the pain go away. I'm not rich; in fact, it's very hard for me to do this job as I have multiple sclerosis, which I'm hiding from my boss. Because of this, I spend a lot of money on things like corsets, adult diapers, cooling pads, etc.

Yet, I feel so privileged compared to him.

So, I'd like to know: what do you think I could get him to make his life just a tiny bit easier? I need this pain gone. Sometimes I feel like crying at work, and I don't want to draw attention to myself.

Thanks.

Day 6 of rescued pigeon

Hi! I've been slow to answer comments, but I've been very busy lately. I will resume reading you all tomorrow.

First picture: she's looking for wifi or she likes the warmth haha

Since I don't know the gender of this pigeon—and because in Spanish, nouns have grammatical gender and the word for pigeon is feminine—I always refer to her as a "she." I also call her Cucu (sounds like "coocoo". I called my first cat "kitty," I'm just that original), but the sound means nothing to her. Do pigeons recognize their names?

I was keeping her in her pants a lot, but a few commenters told me that was bad, so now I only keep her in it for two hours at a time, twice a day (when I'm home).

She starts making sounds when I bring my hand close. Are these good or bad sounds? Sometimes she feels annoyed with me, but sometimes she looks for my hand. I can't understand her.

Fourth picture: Her poop has been watery lately, and sometimes she sneezes (it's so cute!). I hope she's alright. She drinks a lot, probably because it's horribly hot right now.

Also, she flaps her wings a lot but doesn't fly; it's like she's practicing for takeoff.

She eats a bird seed mixture, and I add rice. Sometimes I give her unsalted sunflower seeds. Does she need to eat anything else? I'm thinking about adding small, dry peas. Do pigeons only eat seeds? Feral pigeons eat almost anything on the streets, so it feels wrong to only feed her seeds.

She still doesn't have feathers under her wings, but she feels very warm to the touch. I know dogs have a higher normal temperature than humans; is it the same for pigeons?

I haven't found my chinchilla cage yet, so she will have to spend more time in the bathroom.

I think I've covered everything. Thanks for your support! I'm a bit scared of doing something wrong and hurting her. She's like a newborn baby; it feels like she could just plop down and die.

Thanks again, and see you in the next update!

Day 5 of rescued pigeon

Sorry I haven't read the comments, my work is taking all my time and energy.

She seems to hate funkos (bird is effective against bulbasaur), but she likes SpongeBob. She also cleans each and every feather in her body.

The first days I realized she was not eating enough so I bought her this artificial gut milk. Well, guess what, she didn't like it but started eating a lot of seeds.

Yesterday I gave her sunflower seeds. She doesn't swallow it whole so I have to break it.

Today I started mixing the bird seeds with rice. I thought she wouldn't swallow it but actually she likes rice!

I don't think she's imprinted or anything, I got her too old. Sometimes she attacks my hand hard. It's funny but I'm afraid she hates me.

I got cardboard boxes from work and I plan on making her a house as someone suggested, but I barely have free time RN.

Thanks and until the next update!

I hate myself for not collecting RH sooner

I had my eye on some of these toys since I was a teenager and wanted to start collecting, but I had no money. Then I went through a vulnerable phase where I was deeply affected by my family's pressure to be "normal." After that, I dealt with a chronic illness that kept my mood really low for years, before finally reaching that adult phase where you "kill the father" and start discovering who you really are.

A few years ago, I started collecting MH G3. I was into way too many things (video games, crafts, makeup, etc.), almost like I was re-experiencing everything through the eyes of a child. To make the most of my money, I had to cut back on certain things (like going to one workshop instead of three, or traveling twice a year instead of every month). As a result, I also passed on collecting certain dolls and plushies.

Now, I've come full circle and I know myself better. I love dolls—and not just MH, but LOL, Fugglers, Barbies, Sylvanian Families, and RH...

And OH GOD, how I hate myself for missing out on the chance to collect the core RH dolls. Their stands, clothes, color themes, accessories, and articulation... I have five of them and they look so cool together...

But now, new RH releases just aren't the same. They feel cheap and gimmicky, with less articulation and no stands... I don't know how to explain it, but I just feel this deep regret.

My biggest source of happiness is going to the toy store after a hard week of work to find some booty to bring home and play with. I got to experience that with Legos, MH, and Beanie Boos, but I won't get to have it with RH anymore.

That's my rant. Thanks for reading.
