What part of campaign prep eats the most of your time, and what have you tried to fix it?

I've been running games for a while, and prep keeps taking way longer than I expect. I'll sit down to plan one session and two hours later I'm still naming NPCs and trying to remember what I said about a town three sessions ago.

I'm curious how other DMs handle it:

  1. Which part of prep takes you the longest? (worldbuilding, NPCs, encounter balancing, session notes, tracking plot threads, maps, something else)

  2. What do you use right now? (notebook, Google Docs, Obsidian, World Anvil, LegendKeeper, Kanka, AI tools, nothing)

  3. What bugs you about those tools? What made you stop using one?

  4. If one thing could disappear from your prep, what would it be?

Most of all I'd like to hear from newer DMs who feel overwhelmed. What made your first campaign hard to get off the ground?

How would you promote your app

As with keep with the rules I will not say much about my app aside from that it's a fitness based accountability app

This i am aware is a pretty overstimulated market but I I extremely proud of my app and would like to get it out there for people to try and so would love to ask if anyone was to market and app like this (for someone with no promotional or video editing skills) how would you promote it?

Thanks

how much should i ask for paywise (ecosystem developer)

Hi, background about me: I'm 22M with a degree in Computer Science (not from a prestigious university, would rather not say where lol). I have a decent portfolio filled with AI-developed apps and websites (genuine ones, not just vibe-coded slop lol), and I've been emailing with a business owner regarding my first job (I only have hospitality experience atm). This will be an AI Ecosystem Developer role. I was wondering if anyone could help me with how much I should ask for salary-wise, along with what I should ask for duties and expectations-wise.

I built a Claude Code pipeline that takes a locked YouTube script all the way to a published video — sharing what actually worked (and one very expensive mistake)

Disclosure up front: I built this and I'm selling it, but I think the actual technical breakdown is useful on its own, so take it or leave it.

Most "YouTube automation" content out there is niche-finder kits, title formulas, thumbnail decks — all genuinely useful, but none of them touch what happens after you've got a locked script. That gap is what I spent the last few weeks building against, running it across 15 real channels.

The pipeline, in order:

- Voiceover — Deepgram Aura-2, driven straight from the script. TTS APIs cap request length, so long scripts get auto-chunked sentence-by-sentence and stitched back together with ffmpeg — no manual splitting.

- Visuals — Google Flow (no public API, so this stage is the one genuinely manual/browser-driven step), consistency held entirely by a shared style-suffix string appended to every prompt.

- Assembly — Remotion, driven off word-level transcript timing (Whisper), not the raw script — spoken pacing never matches your read-through estimate.

- Publish — YouTube Data API v3 can fully automate title/description/thumbnail/upload, but I trigger it manually on purpose — OAuth needs an interactive browser login an unattended agent can't do, and it's a reasonable place to keep a human in the loop.

The expensive mistake, because I think it's the actually useful part: early on I ran voiceover generation for a second channel before archiving the first channel's output. The pipeline's scripts wrote to shared paths by default — that overwrote the first channel's audio. Did this twice, back to back, across 7 channels, before building a $env:CHANNEL namespace into every script to make it structurally impossible.

Packaged the whole thing (13 modules) + 7 Claude Code tool files that interview you rather than being fill-in-the-blank templates — niche fit scoring, content-risk screening, script retention critique, scaling readiness check. $39, link in profile/comments if anyone wants it — happy to just answer pipeline questions here either way.

What's missing from most productivity/habit apps? (built something to test an idea, curious what this sub thinks)

Most productivity apps I've tried are either pure task managers (no motivation layer) or pure habit trackers (no room for work/projects, journaling, or health in one place). Neither ever stuck for me long-term.

So I started experimenting with combining them — one dashboard for goals, journaling, workouts/food tracking, a calendar, and a "Work" tab for tracking side projects and income, all tied together with XP, streaks, and stats rather than just checkboxes. The idea being that skipping a habit should feel like it costs you something, not just leave an empty log.

Genuinely curious what this community thinks: what's the actual failure point for you with productivity apps — is it too much friction to log things, not enough motivation to keep going, or something else? And does combining that many areas (health, work, journal, goals) into one place sound useful, or does it just create bloat?

(Happy to share what I built if anyone's curious, but mainly want to hear what's actually broken about the tools people already use.)

fitness/self improvement dashboard

please roast my fitness app so i can find areas to improve before official release

I got tired of juggling Notion for goals/journaling and a separate app for workouts, so I built Forge — a single dashboard for building yourself physically, mentally, and financially.

https://forges.fit (free, runs in browser, no install) (use code 45532 in order to skip onboarding fee)

How it works: onboarding sets your daily goals, non-negotiables, calorie target, and workout split, plus an AI mentor personality. Mine's set to "Elite" and it does not coddle you — today it told me "don't let perfect be the enemy of done" and asked whether I avoided, forgot, or just didn't care about a missed goal. That tone alone has kept me more honest than any tracker I've used.

Everything ties into XP, day streaks, Level, and Life Stats (Discipline, Intelligence, Strength, Focus), plus a leaderboard with a belt-ranking system (White → Yellow → Orange... up to Black) so progress feels like it's actually going somewhere.

There's also a Work section that tracks side projects, tasks, and income logged — so "building yourself" includes your hustle, not just your gym streak.

Still early, would love blunt feedback — what's confusing, what's missing, what you'd never touch. Live right now if you want to poke around.

Hi folks I am currently finishing off an app and i feel like I have everything finished but wanted to check out some other apps to see if there is any that you would suggest to check out or that have helped you in your self improvement and self help journey Alternatively is there anything you would like to see on an app like this is I already have on this app:

Daily tracking for both food and activities

An ai mentor

A deep work section

Along with a few other things

Would appreciate any help on this i am super passionate about this app and do believe it can help out people who would be interested in it this sint soem self promoting post I am just looking to improve my app and mansge to get it to as close to perfect as I can before I launch it I hope you understand!

Alternatively is there any YouTubers or books that maybe could help me with finding ideas or pages that you would recommend I considered setting up a recommended supplement page but figured that was going too far and that if I set something like that up I'm almost going into too many different areas which could end up making the app overwhelming do you think people would be interested in that?

Thanks!
