Oh look at that, they're in denial. Color me unsurprised.
Porn has way too much of a fascination with big sizes
Tried making a similar post in unpopularopinion but they banned me for it. Figured here might be better.
People who make porn (usually this is about the drawn kind but it happens in live-action stuff too) seem to think that giant tits and asses are appealing. While yes it can be, bigger is not better in my opinion. Often times it comes off as comical or outright unappealing.
I'm no prude, but we can do so much better than tits bigger than someone's head.
[Loved Trope] Aluminum Christmas Tree
This trope is when something shows up in a fictional work and it'd be easy to assume it's fake or invented for it but it's actually something that actually exists or existed or is an accurate recreation.
Watchmen. There is a smiley face crater on mars, it's called Galle https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Galle\_%28Martian\_crater%29
American Tail. At one point we see the Statue of Liberty and it's golden-yellow. At one point that is what the statue actually looked like before the copper that it was made from oxidized.
Lightyear. Not necessarily anything in the film itself but rather the concept of the film. Essentially the Buzz Lightyear toyline was based off of an action movie, which this film is meant to be. The Aluminum Christmas Tree here is that it wasn't uncommon for movies from the 80's and 90's (which is when the film was released in-universe) to release toys and even animated shows (which BLOSC is supposedly) based on live-action adult-geared films regardless of the rating.
I feel like my players are unmotivated and need me to hold their hands too much
The campaign I am running is a self-made module that I ran a few years ago to great success. The previous players were independent, creative, and capable of finding plot threads even I didn't think of.
I figured since that game was so fun I'd do it again after it ended with a new group of players. These guys aren't newbies, but I feel like compared to the previous player group they're less motivated to roleplay, explore, or take risks. I often have to basically ask them if they want to do something, bordering on railroading. It's a little frustrating.
What is the weirdest thing you have ever seen someone deep fry?
reddit.comWhat is your typical stat spread?
I myself mostly balance health, stamina, and weight. I don't see myself needing the other stats that much. What about you guys?
Those "wrong answers only" posts
I get they're meant to be funny and generate funny responses but they're just not that funny to me. I wouldn't mind them if they weren't everywhere.
Is Venice getting dumber or am I using the wrong model?
So recently I've been making using of GLM 5.1 and GLM 5.2 for use in outlining guides for DND character builds and I've been noticing that I keep having to correct it over details and having very inconsistent responses.
For reference, I tested Gemini with the same prompts and got way better and more consistent responses that require less if any corrections. The only reason I'm not outright using Gemini is that Venice won't self-censor itself.
Does anyone remember thus cartoon?
I'm driving myself up a wall trying to find this so please help me out.
I used to watch it on DVD after I rented it from my local library. This was back in the early 2000's. It was some weird CGI animated show about anthropomorphic frogs, like they were upright and naked I'm pretty sure.
There was one episode I remember where the main character ends up getting tickets to some amusement park and is excited for it but it turns out she only has enough for two people I think and the conflict was her having to choose who gets to come.
Edit: Added a detail.
[Mixed but usually ok trope] The character is biologically young but chronologically much older
- Rika Furude (Higurashi: When they cry)
She's about grade school age but she's essentially stuck in a time loop. It's usually caused by her death. She's in reality centuries old, but the loop keeps bringing her back to this age. She tends to keep pretending she's actually that young.
- Monster Girl (Invincible)
Chronologically she's about 30 or so, but her curse makes her gradually age backwards every time she uses it. At present she's biologically a pre-teen.
Edit: Just to clarify incase anyone is confused, this is when a character is physically much younger than their chronological age. Think stuff like time loops, reversed aging, body hopping, etc. This does not refer to characters who only appear younger like the much maligned 700 year old dragon trope.
Would it be possible to make a Darkest Dungeon inspired campaign?
So I was brainstorming because my brain never really shuts off. I was thinking of doing something like the game Darkest Dungeon, probably as a short campaign but still in the planning phase.
For those who aren't familiar with the game, here is the premise: You are the heir of a former noble family, damned due to the actions of a hedonistic forebear who spent the family fortune excavating an ancient portal underneath the family estate in search of power beyond wealth only to release tide after tide of unspeakable horrors into the world. In his final letter, he makes one final request of you: drive back these horrors and redeem the family name.
The game itself is a roguelike where you effectively dungeon crawl across various maps in at least four different areas, not including the titular dungeon itself. You fight monsters, loot things, watch for traps (and disable them if you spot them), and come back to your hamlet with what you found.
There are mechanics where your characters gain stress and get various afflictions if you don't manage them, positive and negative quirks, and diseases. When you're not on your expeditions, you're helping build up the hamlet with what you gather and making your characters stronger. The game also implies that these expeditions take a week to finish.
I was thinking if I were to translate this into an actual campaign I think what it will have to do is have most if not all the combat and exploration during segments where you're exploring the areas and the time in the Hamlet is when you do stuff like roleplay, sell and buy, stuff like that. That's just a first draft though.
Do you think I could make this work? What would you recommend to make it work?
How do I get my AI to stop writing like this?
This doesn't always happen, but it happens often enough I have to either edit it extensively or just redo the prompt so it doesn't do it.
Basically it will have the characters speak like this:
"That was X"
"It's Y" they corrected.
This does not sound at all like how people write things and I don't know how to get it to avoid writing this way.
I want to play something like Edgar the bug from Men In Black
For those unaware of what I'm referencing, in the movie Men in Black there is an alien cockroach that kills a guy, hollows out his body, and wears his skin as a disguise. It's very poorly fitting and he's moving in a very jerky and inhuman way and sounds it too. He can make parts of his bug body come out for various things and eventually tears it off.
I'm thinking of playing a Thri-Kreen for this but I'm unsure what class to play for this and how to utilize the whole "skin-suit" thing. As tempting as barbarian is for this I've been using the class a lot and it's gotten boring for me.
[Mixed trope] The dancing bear
No this does not refer to a literal dancing bear.
Basically this is when a work of fiction is known for having a unique gimmick that was involved with its production. Usually this means it's the first of its kind to use it. Whether or not that makes it better is subject to opinion. This does not refer to something involved with outside the work that makes it more interesting (Like Heath Ledger's death giving The Dark Knight more attention for example).
- 1917
The dancing bear for this film is the fact that it is one long continuous shot. Wherever the main character goes, the camera follows. The only exception was one scene where they get knocked out. (I edited in this part so ya'll would stop commenting about it.)
- Boyhood
This film is your typical coming of age slice of life story, but where this films main gimmick comes from is that this film took 10 YEARS to produce, with the characters in the film never swapping out when they get older. The 6 year old boy you see and the adult you see later? That's the same actor.
- Freaks
This film is notorious for casting actual circus performers as the titular "Freaks". Additionally, there was a rumor that the sight of these characters caused an audience member to suffer a miscarriage.
- The Crew
The main draw of this game is that the map (Sans Hawaii and Alaska) is the entire United States and it's an open world game.
- Crysis
Opinions will vary on if this game is actually good but let's be honest, the main reason people know this game is because of its graphics and the difficulty of running it at maximum settings.
Edit: Guys I get it, 1917 was not the first to do this nor is it actually one long shot. That's not the point of why I included it nor the point of the trope.
